The best restaurants

24/02/2026: Very disappointed. Our food was not good, my wine pour was maybe a 6oz pour for $14, and our waitress was a little rough around the edges. We will not go back to this restaurant. Not sure how it has such high reviews unless it has recently gone down hill.

31/10/2025: We had a great 3 days here in October, hotel is a 15 minute walk from Eyre Square, easy access to other points of Galway. Family rooms were a great size and the breakfast was really good too

30/10/2025: Good hotel, very convenient location for touring around Galway. Lady at breakfast each was fantastic. Good for a short stay.

19/02/2026: I love this restaurant so much the atmosphere reminds me of a old 80s or 90s movie in America they have great food the best milkshakes this is my favourite restaurant ever way better than KFC ,mcdonald's, or nandos I will always come to this restaurant if I'm happy sad angry it will make me happy with the lovely food atmosphere and shake love it here HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🩷🤟

28/02/2026: Didn't stay but had a lovely coffee and pizza looking out at the wonderful lakes. The barista guy was really lovely. Very nice views!

16/01/2026: I didn’t stay in the hotel but I went for the pizza truck which is lovely. It would be great if on busy days such as Saturday or Sundays in summer they would have events and live music

14/02/2026: Busy venue but everything was undercontrol. Very well looked after even with a full restaurant. Great to have vegan options to get a sit down meal with my girlfriend. Very tasty meat alternative with a soy based 'chicken'.

02/12/2025: After viewing a few venues before, we knew from the moment we arrived at Ballyseede Castle that this was where we wanted to get married. The venue is absolutely stunning, but what truly made it exceptional was the staff. From our first tour to planning the final details, they were incredible. The bridal suite where we got ready was massive and beautiful, which made the morning feel so relaxed and special. The Belfry, where we had our ceremony, was also amazing and created the perfect setting. They made sure both we and our guests were having an amazing time, and the entire day ran like clockwork. They worked with all our vendors so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Many of our guests also told us it was the best wedding dinner they had ever had. We can’t thank the team enough, and we will definitely be back for a visit in the future. To anyone considering booking Ballyseede, you won’t regret it.

02/12/2025: I’m a wedding DJ and get to play in Ballyseede Castle quite regularly. Mary and Paul are A class wedding coordinators and things always run very smoothly on the day. There is always a great atmosphere around the venue and the staff here are very sociable with guests.

26/09/2025: Absolutely amazing experience! The ambience is beautiful and the food was delicious. And to make the entire evening extra special, the owner offers Palestine cola and chocolate to help raise money and awareness for Gaza. Just look for the huge Palestinian flag flying high and proud in the front of the building! Amazing amazing night, thank you for all you do and for the most delicious meals around.

08/10/2025: Really delicious meal. Seafood chowder and cauliflower steak were both excellent. My wife enjoyed her Indian, though the naan was sub par. Nice space too.

05/10/2025: Very nicely decorated. Friendly service. Really tasty food. The signature pie was amazing, as were the glazed root vegetables. Would gladly come back!

08/12/2025: The best seafood I had in Ireland. The seafood tower is a must try and great for a special occasion.

06/12/2025: The food was bland, unimaginative, and tasteless. We had a starter and a main course, but after these, we decided to skip dessert. There were only one size of wine glasses available, so we had to drink the Pinot Noir from a very small white wine glass. The service was inadequate and showed little interest in us, including our criticism. We felt that the service was somewhat arrogant and snobbish. We certainly won't be returning.

22/03/2026: Terrible service, takes 40 mins to get order taken and another 40 for the drinks to come out. When they do eventually come out they are lukewarm. Can’t order inside so have to wait! Waste of time and money.

24/02/2026: I’ve been staying at the Ardboyne Hotel for nearly two weeks during a very difficult time in my life while attending a court case. From the moment we arrived, the staff have been nothing short of amazing. Their kindness, compassion and genuine support have meant more than I can put into words. They have made both myself and my daughter feel safe, welcome and genuinely cared for. It truly feels like a family community here rather than just a hotel. A very special thank you to Teresa, who checked in with us at the end of each day — that meant more than she probably knows. To Kealy at reception for her constant kindness and reassurance. To Molly at the bar for her warmth and friendliness. To Shirley who sorted out our accommodation and to all of the wonderful staff who have shown such understanding and support throughout our stay. During a stressful and emotional period, having such thoughtful people around us has made all the difference. We are incredibly grateful — thank you all so much. Lisa & Holly Brown
