15/05/2026: Consistently grand food at Dan’s - we had fish and chips and half roast duck with cheesy and croquette potatoes with sauté onions accompanied by a lovely Chardonnay and a nice red from South Africa. Well worth visiting

The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service throughout was attentive without being intrusive. We left feeling genuinely well looked after. 01/05/2026: We walked in on a Friday night around 8pm. I was afraid at first that we wouldn't get a table without reservations. But, they found a table for us upstairs. The bathrooms are also upstairs btw. We ordered the soup of the day which was French Onion. It would have been a perfect 10 out of 10 if they would have actually put some cheese on top. It tasted amazing...deep and rich beef and onion flavor. But, I wanted the cheese I'm used to. The Wagyu Beef burger and fries was great(although the bacon on it was kind of sad...it looked cold and precooked that had been just sitting there). As was the Seafood Linguini. It was a generous portion with lots of different kinds of seafood. The service was prompt and friendly. We were too full to order dessert but I'm sure it would be delicious! Thank you!

13/06/2026: A fantastic location. My conclusion after a four-week stay in Ireland: the best pub of all. We were there on May 28, 2026, and a trio with guitar, violin, and flute was playing. For me, the concert was the best thing I heard during those four weeks. I'll probably never understand why some people feel the need to sit right next to the musicians to chat during musical performances.

23/05/2026: Popped in this evening, hoping there would be a table, and, luckily there was. The service was fantastic, felt relaxed, looked after and comfortable. The tall Irish fella with the glasses was excellent on the front of house, looked after me and the food was unbelievable. The colcannon potatoes were next level and the white chocolate desert was the best desert I’ve ever had, would definitely recommend.

08/05/2026: The restaurant is conveniently located beside a parking area, making it extremely accessible and eliminating the difficulty of finding street parking. It is less than a three-minute walk from the parking lot, which added to the overall convenience of the experience. Most importantly, this was genuinely one of the finest dining experiences I have had in my life. My mother and I visited while on vacation to celebrate her birthday after the restaurant was highly recommended by our Airbnb hosts, and it exceeded every expectation. I ordered the duck, while my mother chose the chicken, and both dishes were exceptional. In nearly 40 years of travel and dining experiences, I can confidently say the quality of both the food and service ranks among the very best I have encountered. Although I was unaware that reservations were required, the staff graciously accommodated us despite my oversight. Their professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness made the evening especially memorable. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor, with food that was both refined and comforting. The desserts were perfectly balanced and not overly sweet, and the wine selection was outstanding. From the cuisine to the hospitality, every aspect of the experience was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. Thank you to the entire staff for providing such a memorable evening — it was truly appreciated.

30/03/2026: Made reservation online to have dinner here. They require a card and will charge a fee for cancellations. Service in the restaurant was excellent. They brought us to our table immediately, offered to store our coats, served water immediately. After we ordered food, we were served some canapés which were delicious. We ordered crispy fishcakes to share, duck breast and the slow cooked beef cheek bourguigion. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. 💯

24/01/2026: Went there today to try and get some of my favourite chocolate cake but they were closed. Does anyone know if they've closed their doors?

22/05/2026: What can't I say about this place! We walk in and are immediately greeted by the "sample guy." He asked us about various things and chatted before asking for sample flavors we wanted. He ran and grabbed them for us and also offered some suggestions for decent flavor combinations. We ordered and were able to get two flavors in one dish. Immediately we tried the salted honeycomb and coffee, both of which just melted on the mouth for a wonderful blend of flavors. The ice cream was very rich and just quite delicious. We were very grateful to have stopped in here and stood outside to eat our ice cream to help free up space since we were a larger group. Then Sean Murphy, himself, came out and talked with us. We told him about our reasons for traveling and he told us about the flavor profiles that they have at Murphy's. He then learned of our connection as a choir and asked if we could sing for them. We sang "An Irish Blessing" for them and they were incredibly receptive. Overall this might have been the best experience in Ireland for their kindness, intentionality, and delicious ice cream!
