The best restaurants

06/09/2024: Firstly the staff were lovely, definitely an asset. Great selection of wines and a decent drinks menu all at a very reasonable price. The food in the main was main was very very good. I experienced one issue on my plate and it was swiftly dealt with. However it did result with us eating our mains at different times, but that was ok. I think what was more disappointing was the ammbiance. There was background music on only for a short while which resulted with a cafe type feel with a room full of chatter, coupled with the fact that there appeared to be no (at least smart casual) dress code so we were sat amongst a few men in shorts and t-shirts unfortunately the back of someone in a low hung pair of shorts is not a pretty site whilst admiring the beautiful presentation of each course. Have to say the Jury is out on this one.....

26/09/2024: This restaurant is a culinary gem. The size of the restaurant gives it a cozy intimate feel. The presentation of each dish was superb and the dishes were so flavorsome. We went for the early evening menu which was very reasonably priced considering the quality and presentation of each dish. I had the goats cheese fig salad followed by the ham hock, glazed cheek, sausage gougere, turnip,pickled walnut, jus. For dessert I chose the chocolate fondant. The owner/chef was genuinely helpful in advising us of the appetisers we could order and the most suitable wines to pair with our dishes. We ended up ordering a bottle of Portuguese Doura and a glass of Riesling. I was really impressed by the food, beautiful Michelin quality dishes and reasonably priced. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.

15/09/2024: Best restaurant on the 14 day tour of Ireland. Many thanks to the Paradiso team for an outstanding evening. Great concept that we have rarely encountered in Ireland.

10/09/2024: If you are into vegan fine dining this is a place to go. Food wise everything is up there. However you have to acknowledge that it comes with a serious time investment as you are being served over the course of almost 2 hours. Staff is very friendly and food is delicious. If you never been there give it a try.

24/08/2024: Great restaurant! The entrées, main courses and desserts were delicious. I had the grilled sea hake, which was very good. Tasty fish, good creamy sauce and the maybe best potato gratin I had. The menu is local and the daily soup was perfect. The deer rack from my friend was perfectly medium and just so tender. This restaurant is highly recommendable!

11/09/2024: September update Taiwanese beef noodles cannot be made with rice noodles. Thick white noodles, thin white noodles, shaved noodles, or even yellow noodles are all fine. But Taiwanese beef noodles really don’t contain rice noodles. It’s a bit sad that we don’t have such food😢 - Very delicious. Recommended for Taiwanese people. Service is also very good

22/09/2024: We walked in without reservations on culture night and were quickly seated upstairs. We had meatball starter, ham and mushroom pizza and salmon feta and crème fresh pasta. All were super fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was really laid back. The real gem here was the waitress who was so nice. They can’t accept tips on card so we felt quite bad as we had no cash on us as we were coming back from the beach. I will be coming back here again soon. Probably the best Italian food I’ve had in galway in a long time. Good value, fresh ingredients, super service.

16/09/2024: Great little Italian restaurant. Home made fresh pasta. Bruschetta and salad were very good. Owner waited on us. Great service. I would definitely go back

02/10/2024: Excellent food and attentive and friendly staff. Highlights of the menu were the Kenmare bay smokies, the lamb ragu, and the panna cotta, which my mom described as the best she’s ever had. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. I would certainly recommend coming here in when in Kenmare.

14/09/2024: It was all just fine. I was looking forward to this trip to Bricin as part of our honeymoon and it just wasn’t as good as the hype. The service was fine but the actual food was just alright. Not bad by any means but nothing I would recommend to someone in the area. I had the boxty and my husband had the steak.

13/09/2024: Cozy restaurant. But it seems like more than it is. Unfortunately, the food was very boring for both of us. The spices or tasty herbs were missing. You can expect to pay between €20 and €40 per meal

13/09/2024: Pour la cuisine du chef je donnerai volontiers 5/5, même 6/5. Seulement quand on réserve pour 20h00 et que l'on passe à table à 21h05, on a le droit de grogner. Et pas un mot d'excuse, juste une explication pour nous dire que le retard était du à l'arrivée tardive des précédents clients qui occupaient notre table. Cerise sur le gâteau, notre très bon dîner a été complètement gâché par un petit groupe de 5 jeunes femmes totalement histériques qui riaient, criaient, hurlaient si fort que nous pouvions à peine nous entendre. Elles étaient pourtant à 8 mètres de nous. Et tout ça sans que le personnel (pourtant très aimable) n'intervienne pour les calmer un peu. Et le maître d'hôtel n'a pas non plus lever le petit doigt pour signaler à ces dames qu'elles pouvaient déranger les autres clients. Il était peut-être sourd ! Nous nous sommes donc malheureusement trompé de soir pour venir dîner dans cet endroit très original. Et tout ça pour le seul menu à 75 € par personne sans les boissons !!! (il n'y a pas de carte dans ce restaurant.) Quel gâchis !!! Dommage, dommage, dommage! R. K

07/09/2024: Mulcahys in Kenmare is an absolute must for foodies! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is attentive. I had beef and loved it. The meat was tender and juicy and the side dishes were perfectly seasoned. It's especially nice that you can sit outside with your dog. An all-round successful evening!

19/08/2024: Sunday carvery 18.Aug 2024 Went into the Jockeys at about 12.30 place was spotless staff very welcoming l ordered the prime roast beef with all the trimmings wife had Chicken curry with rice and also came with lovely side of chips.Have to say best potatoes l have had in a long time and the cabbage was cooked to perfection all in all we had a lovely lunch which was served promptly and no fuss.We will be back.
