Lignum

06/04/2026: Lignum's tasting menu focuses on locally sourced Irish ingredients with an Italian influence for their preparation. The chefs offer both new flavors and familiar flavors perfectly refined to their peak. The kitchen cooks exclusively with wood fired ovens and grills which lends distinct elements to their dishes and pays homage to ancestral ways of cooking. Furthering ancestral ties, the chef's grandfather is a key supplier of the incredible Amalfi lemons and olive oil (two of the very few foreign ingredients) used in several dishes. My favorite dish was the smoked venison, its subtle smoky scent was so alluring that I delayed eating the morsel until after several wafts. My wife, who's an excellent home baker, was awestruck by the quality of the brioche, it was the best she's ever had. Our other favorites were the prawn with kumquat garnish, scarola (a bitter leafy green) pizza, stuffed pasta, and their signature dessert, Cashel blue cheese with coffee and chocolate glaze. The restaurant's atmosphere is chic yet rustic. While there's no dress code you should at least dress smartly. The wait staff was also extremely attentive and friendly. We will memorialize our experience by adding photos to our scrap book.

Blind Piper

14/04/2026: Sat next to the fire, had a local beer and the roast of the day : pork loin with dressing, mashed and vegetables. Take the very SHORT detour off the Ring of Kerry for this place, you will be glad you did.
10/04/2026: Nothing better. Come. And share you're music and spirit. This is a place for love.

23/03/2026: The food was delicious (Chicken Mughlai & Lamb Vindaloo), and the staff were very friendly. Having the chef come out to talk about the spices and how the dishes are put together made it even better. Great value for money — would definitely recommend it.

Chez Max

Dublin
14/04/2026: We stopped for a drink. The staff were lovely and helpful.
12/04/2026: Chez Max is a very good little French restaurant that's a welcome sight when you arrive in unfamiliar territory, even though I enjoy Irish food! The service is truly excellent (in French) and the cuisine is refined. I recommend it for those who want to discover French cuisine in Dublin and for French people missing their favorite dishes.

Lovinspoon

Dublin
13/12/2025: Amazing breakfast and friendly welcoming staff. Coffee was impressive, toast was massive, sausages out of this world. Came on the strength of their google rating, it is well deserved!
08/12/2025: My first, but DEFINITELY not my last, time in this joyous oasis of calm in a very frisky part of Dublin. (Artwork, both hanging & sculpture, is so beautifully curated and personal, btw, that it is a big part of the experience). I had the full Irish breakfast made to my personal specifications with no fuss whatsoever (apart from my own). When I changed my mind about the pot of tea, it was removed from both my bill and from my table! (Now that's class! 😎). The orange juice (and indeed apple, I did notice) is high-end pre-bottled, and served to one's preferred temperatures. Staff were uniformly kind and warm, as WELL as attentive and genuine. The owner/proprietor is obviously a gentleman. As previously stated, I do indeed intend to be back for this "breakfast of kings" (which actually served as my own breakfast/my late lunch AND as my early dinner, so generous were the portions on what was a very busy day). Amazingly: MANY other types of foods/meals/snacks/sandwiches/cakes/etc. are also available here! 😲 N.B.: Tem atendiamento em português 🇧🇷 também! 😎 PS.: "NOTA DEEEEEEZZZzzzz" (na voz do Carlos Impérial)!

Elbow Lane

Cork
11/03/2026: Delicious cocktails, great food, warm service by a team of pro servers. We ordered the halibut special, ribeye, chips, and fried smoked trumpet mushrooms. This was the best meal we've had in our 3+ weeks in Ireland! Listen to your server's recs. We took his suggestions and found we'd ordered the perfect amount of food! Our plates were clean after we finished, but we didn't leave overly stuffed. He also let us taste a few wines before committing to our choices. Highly recommend but reservations are a must, even during the slower months. Also recommend sitting at the end of the bar if you're a foodie who enjoys watching the chef cook and plate your meal!
11/03/2026: Great place. The food was just amazing (caramelised salsify), the beer was spot on, and the staff super friendly. Can't recommend it highly enough.
