17/09/2026: In town overnight, called into McLeary’s looking for a table for 2 without a reservation, no availability but was kindly told they’d have one in 20 mins. A brief walk by the river and we were back and table ready as promised. Staff were excellent, menu was extensive, food was excellent and atmosphere was cosy and jolly. Price was easily justified by the quality and service - I’d highly recommend and will be back if I’m in town again! 10 / 10

13/09/2026: There were 3 of us in McLeary’s for dinner and we all really enjoyed it. The food was excellent, especially the steak, which was cooked perfectly. We also had a few cocktails and they were really good. The staff were friendly and the service was great without feeling rushed. Nice atmosphere as well, very relaxed and easy going. Would definitely go back again next time we’re in Waterford.

01/10/2026: Best seafood chowder soup ever!!!!!! Amazing place, great ambient, best food I did try in Ireland, I could not recommend this enough! Everything was so tasty, chowder soup, garlic mushroom, salmon..... wish I could repeat!

24/09/2026: Excellent service! The sirloin steak was delicious and cooked exactly as requested. The same goes for my husband's lamb. The dessert was very good! The atmosphere was ideal—calm and pleasant. Highly recommended!

04/10/2026: We had the absolute best time at Malzards for a private group hurling experience! There were six of us and it was a blast! Gary was great and Rochine (bartender) showed us how to pour a Guinness properly. Also had live music with an older man who got a lot of patrons involved in his band and sing a long. Beyond 5 stars!!!

03/10/2026: Absolute gem! Awesome atmosphere, great music, great beers! The whole crew does a bang up job. Last but not least, the hurling bit takes top marks. All in all, feckin lovely!

19/09/2026: The food is amazing!!! Can really recommend it! I ate the protein pancakes and they were excellent! But servers (not all of them) might wanna consider acknowledging/speaking to all guests, not only men. Otherwise well, no tip.

16/10/2026: Favorite meal in all of Ireland. Fish and chips were amazing. Ate throughout Ireland and this was by far the best!!!!!

16/10/2026: There was no roasted lamb leg; I was fooled by the AI. However, the seafood soup was delicious and had lots of ingredients.

11/10/2026: On Thursday nights you can expect live entertainment in the bar. A fiddle, a squeeze box, a guitar, the music slowly builds through the evening, as does the atmosphere and before you go home there will be singing too. We ate, I had duck, John had scampi pulled that morning from Dingle Bay. Both were great but the duck was all meat (a common fault in these parts) and short on veg...for many a good fault but I love my vegetables and salad. The service, was good and the surroundings attractive.

30/09/2026: Fantastic place! Food, service and atmosphere just amazing! Dermi, our server, was very friendly, attentive and was able to suggest us a right dish Keep in mind there is BYOB offer - just 8 euro per bottle of wine or champagne!

09/09/2026: The highlight of our Letterkenny trip was our dinner here. From the complimentary appetisers to dessert, the food and service was impeccable. Would go again!

07/10/2026: This beautiful place served the best meal I've ever had in my life. An unforgettable experience from the moment we walked through the door. Sasha was an amazing server! The food was not only a work of art but absolutely delicious! If I was at home with that stature food I would've licked the plate with no shame. Just absolutely perfect from start to finish. Get the ham hock with crispy egg, I insist!

02/10/2026: Love love love this place. We arrived while it was pouring out, and they made accommodations to fit us in despite the fact that they were full. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. My mother asked how the pancetta was cooked and the lovely waitress came back with a summary from the chef on how to make it. This is a little hidden gem across the river from Temple Bar. From 3 Americans and 1 Spaniard …. This was the BEST Irish food we had all week!!
