20/09/2025: Stopped in on a Wednesday night for a cheeseboard and wine for two. The prices were very reasonable, and the owner, Barry, was both knowledgeable and helpful. A great little spot.

26/10/2025: A restaurant where I eat superbly. Its dishes are full of great flavors and amazing combinations of ingredients. The service is very attentive, friendly, and very patient with the diners. The atmosphere surrounding the place is magical, and with the great selection of songs, the atmosphere becomes a charming place. The facilities are very clean and very well-equipped. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because of the price, which is a bit high, to be honest. But if you're in the city, I recommend trying this very special experience, even if it's just once.
I recommend ordering the pasta with vegetables and the seafood gratin; they are the two best things I tried.

20/11/2025: I should have written this review before. Daniel's is a charming little place with well cooked delicious food. The owner will happily chat with customers about food, wine and his travels. They have some great menu items and some very interesting crockery from Daniel's trips to Africa. Of particular note is the set menu which offers great value for money. If you haven't been don't hesitate just book it: you will be glad you did. Thanks again to Daniel and staff

08/09/2025: Make sure you reserve a table and be there on time because Sage is worth the visit if you enjoy culinary food paired with yummy Bulgarian wine.

The wine guide is very interesting, as are the charcuterie boards.
03/11/2025: Stumbled upon this place looking for a wine bar on a Monday night. Nice low mood lighting inside gives this place a great atmospphere and there is a huge amount of wine on offer (for every taste). Food was excellent, with the charcuterie board being a good obvious choice for sharing. Soup was wonderful too! Will be back.

Highly recommend, brilliant staff and incredible dishes. Would recommend the goats cheese Arancini, the prawn pastry and mussels.

Dromoland Castle
03/11/2025: Everything about this castle is magnificent. The older section (reception, restaurant, bar) is sumptuous. Breakfast is exceptional in the castle's grand hall.
The grounds are equally impressive (forest with deer, lake with the option to rent a boat for fishing, golf for enthusiasts).
01/11/2025: I’ve been to some nice hotels over the years, but the stand out feature of Dromoland Castle for me, is not the facility (which is super) but the staff. You would expect them to be professional, but they are far more than that. They are characters. Whoever manages this fine hotel, do not change how you recruit and train your staff. In the short two days I spent there, the staff were standout and good crack. Not overly drilled or devoid of personality.
Rory in the bar epitomised this, but was not alone .
All staff were happy and engaged.

29/10/2025: Charming restaurant with delicious food. I was there at the end of July with my mother staying within walking distance of the restaurant, and it was one of the best meals we had during our 5 day trip in Ireland.

20/10/2025: Very cute restaurant! We went on a Friday night — unfortunately, it was quite noisy, so if you’re looking for a quiet, romantic spot, I wouldn’t recommend it. We ordered the vegetarian dish, which was very tasty. It didn’t include any carbs, so we added a side of bread, which was also very nice. The side carrots were flavorful, but we didn’t enjoy the crisps — they lacked spices and weren’t very crispy, which was a bit disappointing.
There’s a nice selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Overall, it was a good experience, though a little on the pricey side, and there’s still some room for improvement.
