24/07/2025: Divine Japanese food. We are very picky when it comes to sushi. So glad we came across Zakura. The food was fantastic and the service was second to none.

25/07/2025: Visited with my mum today and Pat’s Cafe truly exceeded our expectations! The staff were incredibly attentive and lovely from the moment we stepped in, making us feel right at home. The décor is tasteful and spotless, creating a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere. Our meals were fantastic—the portions were absolutely huge and delicious, perfect for anyone who loves great food. You couldn’t ask for nicer people or a better dining experience. The only tip I’d offer: bring cash, as it keeps things simple. A fantastic business we’ll be eager to return to!

07/08/2025: I have just visited to see. Security was kind enough to allow my family to see around even we don't have a room booked. It has awesome surroundings and beautiful views. A picture perfect place. Later out of curiousity when checked the price Iit's in high range. So I admit it's beyond my affordability. Hopefully we will make it there one day.

02/08/2025: Gorgeous hotel. Staff are so relaxed and personable. Really relaxed place. The grounds are stunning. And the castle is very castley.

08/08/2025: A stellar meal in Athlone. A real focus on local produce, and expert handling. Rabbit and black pudding ballotine to start, a chocolate and cherry Mille feuille to finish, all homemade breads and the best cheese crackers have ever had. A recommendation to visit from anywhere.

08/08/2025: Excellent little restaurant. Went for the more expensive menu as fillet steak was on it. Every course was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Service was spot on. If I'm ever in Athlone again then I will be sure to eat here.

17/08/2025: Unfortunately i didn’t enjoy my food! Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing! Couldn’t even chew the lamb as it was like trying to cut through a slimy brick! Impossible to eat! The staff was amazing and very welcoming tho👍 I don’t recommend the lamb!

17/08/2025: I had my birthday in this beautiful place with wonderful people who serve you wonderfully well. I have no words to thank you. This day became wonderful with wonderful service and wonderful food. I would not recommend this place enough 10/100000000, that's why it's so busy. I've been trying to go to this place for over four months and it was worth all the wait. I can't wait to go back and I recommend it to everyone. As a good Brazilian, I love meat. I can say that the meat in this place is wonderful and of good quality. And the pork, please try the pork. Wonderful.

10/08/2025: Everything about Lignum is incredible. The garden, the atmosphere, the architecture and that’s before you even get to the amazing dining experience. The food is out of this world. Every element of each course is meticulously thought out and prepared and served in such a beautiful manner, that you feel each and every course is as important as the next. The service is outstanding, attention to detail on every level. As someone who doesn’t drink alcohol, the non alcoholic cocktails were delicious and given the same importance as everything else served to our table, which was very much appreciated. We’re looking forward to returning soon.

03/08/2025: So refreshing to have no menu to pick from just cooking with what is in season.Do go for a walk in the vegetable garden when your food is grown within 200m of were you eat it is truly local. Food is exceptional ingredients simply prepared and enjoyed at there peak. Well worth a visit. Techno jazz in background surprisingly soothing.

03/08/2025: Por dónde empezar😊 El servicio fue impecable, desde la bienvenida a la hermosa sala de espera decorada tomando una copa de Kir Royal con mis amigos hasta la deliciosa bolsa de diversión. Mientras disfrutamos del tiempo charlando sobre nuestro viaje a Irlanda. El equipo estaba trabajando duro para darnos un área hermosa y encantadora para nuestra experiencia gastronómica más increíble. La luz que brillaba por encima de la elegante mesa del comedor era tan inv ITing y solo aumentó mi curiosidad porque iba a suceder a continuación. El menú hermoso explicó los cursos y los camareros agregaron ese toque para garantizar que todos hagamos la mejor elección al ordenar. Decidí ir con 3 platos de menú fijo mientras que otros optan por 4 platos. Mi primer plato / aperitivo fue deliciosas, tiernas y perfectamente cocinadas “Vieiras buceadas a mano” seguido de azul nativo “Cola de langosta” en una hermosa salsa de vinagre de flor de cerezo Civet de langosta (Nota: IT tiene un costo adicional). Por último, pero no en la lista de Baba Au run, se presentó con 3 rones diferentes para que usted elija (Cuba, Puerto Rico y Guatemala). También tienen una larga lista de vinos para elegir; fuimos con vino blanco. Al final también tenemos deliciosos “petit fours” para terminar en un paladar dulce. Esta crítica es sobre todo para mi comida, mientras que otros habían pedido platos de carne y todos parecían amar su comida. IT merece la pena mencionar que el gerente del restaurante “Stéphane Robin” fue muy profesional y súper agradable, incluso se tomó una foto con nosotros. Realmente me encanta la experiencia y me encantaría volver y un futuro cercano. Dicho esto, no te pierdas la oportunidad de disfrutar del placer de la vida y reservar tu próxima cena con ellos. No te arrepentirás IT.

03/08/2025: He tenido el placer de cenar en el restaurante Patrick Guilbaud durante muchos años, y puedo decir IT sin dudarlo que sigue siendo una de las mejores experiencias gastronómicas que se pueden encontrar en cualquier lugar. Cada detalle, desde el momento de la llegada hasta el momento en que uno vuelve al mundo, se ejecuta con cuidado, precisión y gracia silenciosa. No hay nada apurado, nada exagerado, solo una orquestación perfecta de hospitalidad genuina y cocina de clase mundial. IT es el servicio como IT solía ser: pulido pero nunca rígido, atento pero nunca intrusivo. Mi esposa a menudo dice IT es el mejor restaurante en el que ha estado, y viniendo de un neoyorquino de toda la vida criado en una familia de restauradores, esa no es una declaración que haga a la ligera. La comida, por supuesto, es excepcional, técnicamente impecable, imaginativa sin ser autocomplaciente y siempre profundamente satisfactoria. Pero IT es la combinación de todo, el ritmo tranquilo del servicio, el ritmo atento, la reverencia por la experiencia del comensal, lo que eleva a este restaurante a algo raro. En un momento en que la verdadera hospitalidad puede sentirse como un arte que se desvanece, Patrick Guilbaud se erige como un orgulloso recordatorio de cómo es la excelencia realmente. IT no es solo una comida, IT es un recuerdo, cada vez.

19/08/2025: The best pint in Ireland! Incredible chowder. Crab sandwiches to dream about. And best of all the welcome is always so warm to our whole family, including the kids and our little dogs. There have been some changes over the 40 years I’ve been coming here but the feel that Teresa nurtured has never changed - it has always been a special place and I feel it always will be.
