The best restaurants

14/01/2025: Very busy spot but for a reason! The ladies who work here are amazing, so welcoming and friendly. Food is great with a large selection to cater for everyone. Highly recommend.

18/03/2025: At first when i came in i smelt coffee which was good but for the acai bowl delicious.

15/04/2025: Great burger last Tuesday. Now...chips are normally amazing and hot and fresh but last Tuesday ye chips I got had clearly been lying around and only warm when received. Not good at all. It's the first and only time out of many that this has happened so I hope they stick to serving freshly fried chips.

02/04/2025: Hungry, passing Casanova in Rathfarnham! Asked sweet young lady serving for bag of chips!Hand on heart, the best Chips I ever bought! Hot! Crispy! Large portion! Discovered...wallet at home. Young Lady "pay when you're passing" ! only left out 5th STAR ...??? really 4.6 !! Tony G

04/03/2025: Tasty, well presented food but very small and expensive portions so poor value (e.g. plate of broccoli sitting on romanesco sauce €18; courgette and buratta dish had 6 slices of courgette). The worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. A very polite request was met with a lot of drama and actual eye-rolling by owner instead of being seen as genuine customer feedback. So unprofessional. We wanted to leave but stayed as we had put in order and didn’t want to mimic earlier drama by owner! Ruined our meal as she had every opportunity to let it go and come back over and ask how was our meal, and so created a terribly uncomfortable atmosphere for us. Not what you want or need for your quick bite that added to €95! The owner’s comments below perfectly capture the attitude we encountered. I see a few others on here had a similar unpleasant experience.

07/06/2024: Dropped in here for some Sunday dinner lovely little pub with a restaurant staff are fantastic felt very welcomed! Food was fantastic definitely return visit on the cards 👍🏼

18/05/2024: I was at the hangedmans restraunt today with my family. As I was sitting down having our dinner I over heard a horrendous conversation with the owner of the restraunt. The owner was shouting at a woman from what I understood was not her fault at all as someone with her had canceled a booking, the owner then went on to tell the woman to f***off and to leave. Another man then came up to tell the owner that this wasn’t right or talk to a woman like that, and his response to the man was f*** off aswell, totally inexcusable behaviour and should not shout and use vulgar language to a woman. I said it to him when paying for our bill that I would be leaving this review as I was disgusted with his behaviour. Do not come here unless you want to be shouted at or abused for no reason. The owner is a horrid man

26/03/2025: I order a nice meal for me and my family and I ordered it around 5 o'clock and it wasn't here till 7! Then it finally came but it forgot my can of coke! So that took them another 30 minutes then we all say down and ate I had some curry sauce with my meal, and then like 15 mind after eating I had it go toulet and then I got explosive diarrhea I was on the toilet for like 2 hours, and the chips were mushy I would give it a 0! But I can't so I give it a 1

16/04/2025: Me and the fianće decided to try this place on a whim. Inside I LOVED that they were not blasting music over the speakers like most restaurants. I ordered chilli noodles and my fianće ordered curry rice. I thought my dish quality was decent but it was extremely, extremely hot. It actually hurt me and it very difficult to finish. Please put a warning on the menu or tell customers that the chilli isn't just chilli, that It's a very intense chilli flavour. We got sugar free sprite for drinks, I wish they had more options for drinks. I ordered a sauce to help lessen the flavour of the chilli which worked pretty well and I was able to finish the meal.

27/03/2025: Great place for the family and I to spend a night away, great restaurant and a fantastic swimming pool. Not too far from portlaoise town where there are many shops, bars and restaurants to choose from. Also a short drive from the hotel is the famous rock of dunamase. These old ruins are in a very strategic position on a high hill over Laois and further a field. Sadly destroyed by Cromwells forces but they tell a tale of a much different time in Ireland

25/02/2025: Upstairs will craft you an incredibly well-balanced cocktail. They put pride and passion into every drink they make; many of which include house-made infusions. Open late. This is the perfect bar and atmosphere for the beginning, middle, or end to your night.
