22/07/2026: We were pleased with our room. When we arrived self check-in told us our room wasn't ready but a desk agent was able to quickly assign a room for us and we settled in well. We had dinner at the Playwright Bar and enjoyed the the food & the restaurant itself. Great service from both our server and the manager. The shuttle was very efficient for us. We didn't have to call anyone or wait very long going to or from the hotel to the airport. Drivers were friendly and assisted with luggage.

06/09/2026: This place is incredible, this is my partner and I top spot now for lunch , we come from Newry just to get it. I always go for the chicken curry half and half and it’s always delicious, the staff every single time we have visited have been so kind and so friendly which is why we love coming back. Would highly recommend this place for breakfast lunch or dinner it’s 10/10 and super affordable 🙌🏻

17/09/2026: You cannot visit Galway's Latin Quarter without stopping at McDonagh's! We ordered the traditional fried cod and chips, and the portions were absolutely massive. The fish was incredibly fresh—perfectly crispy and golden on the outside while remaining light and juicy on the inside. I loved that the chips are cut fresh right on the premises rather than being frozen. You order at the counter, and the food comes out remarkably fast even though the place is always packed with energy. It has a great, casual, historic maritime vibe with shared picnic-style tables. Fast service, great prices, and delicious tartar sauce. A flawless, authentic Irish chippy experience that I’ll be dreaming about until my next trip back to Ireland!

06/09/2026: Great little craft beer pub with a good range of ales. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Updated now, to reflect attentive staff but atmosphere has dropped due to the customers being allowed to scream and shout and use video calls on loud speakers which is super annoying. Almost getting to a point where I might stop using this venue which is a shame.

04/08/2026: Visited yesterday evening for a dinner while passing through. Very friendly staff working well when busy, unfortunately food was not up to scratch. Had turkey and ham , was very bland. Veg was very soft and bland too almost like a bag of frozen mixed veg...Everybody likes their food to be hot but the food was ridiculously hot must have been blasted in an oven ,plate would scald you. Got a baby bowl for my daughter and she could not even begin to eat it for good 10 mins or it would have burnt the mouth off her. Ordered goujons & chips from kids menu for my son and asked for couple of extra goujons if possible instead of chips for him, hes autistic and will only eat the chicken. After a long wait, 5 to 6 of the smallest over-cooked goujons came out for him , and I was charged 13e for them which I taught was a bit expensive. As I said staff friendly, relaxing atmosphere cant fault them but we were disappointed with the quality of the food especially for the price point.

22/06/2026: This is a cute little coffee shop that was close to our hotel. The coffee was delicious and was made by hand (not just buttons on a machine). The woman that was working was friendly. There is very little space inside and the only tables available are outside (some are under a covering).

10/11/2025: Great to see a restaurant of this standard in Kildare. With the Hangman’s closed, we’ve been short of somewhere special locally, and O’Dooles has definitely stepped up. It’s a proper night-out spot – not just a pub meal. We had a group of 15 last night and everything was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive without being over the top, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the place is spotless. The wine list is well chosen and fairly priced, drinks looked great, and the food was full of flavour across all courses. We also had a coeliac with us and the kitchen handled it perfectly – clear communication, careful preparation, and a gluten-free starter made fresh, which was very much appreciated. It’s great to have somewhere like this on our doorstep in Kildare. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back.

07/11/2025: We had a really lovely experience in O'Dooles restaurant for my brother’s birthday. The staff were fantastic and the food was amazing from start to finish. Great cocktail menu and lovely bar area for a pre dinner drink. Margarita was fab. The prawn starter was delish and the chickpea fritter to start was exceptional. Everyone enjoyed the main courses the Seabass for me was perfect and so flavorsome and my brother was very happy with the Veal chop. Desserts were great and the Cheeseboard - we are all still thinking about it! Great atmosphere in the restaurant. We can’t wait to go back. Thanks again to all the team at O’Dooles!

22/08/2026: Decent bar that can be quite sociable that played on the Saturday night I was in amazing Irish music that was a pleasure to listen to especially on my first ever visit to Ireland 🇮🇪 🙂

21/05/2026: Went in with my Fiancée and baby as a quick pint stop at the end of a very busy morning running errands in newbridge and I must say the Gentleman behind the bar couldn’t have possibly been nicer to us, it was only early noon so it was only regulars there and we were so pleasantly surprised to be treated just like them with open arms (our first time here) On our way out we saw the man helping an elderly woman get her mobility scooter out of the Pub which was so heartwarming to see too as I can assure you where we live all they care about is money, this man cares about his customers :)! It’s so lovely to see one pub still keeping like a traditional old Irish Pub, If anybody is going to Newbridge and wants to have a quiet drink with excellent service I would 1Million percent recommend these guys :)
