I don't usually like buffets but for 18.50 per person find that very good value.
Food keeps coming out fresh. Yes sometimes you have go wait for a couple of dishes to come out, but give me freshly cooked over food sat all night anyday.
11/08/2024: A family owned restaurant. Food is beautiful, very reasonably priced and served by a very friendly staff. Menu caters for all tastes.

08/02/2025: Nice and friendly atmosphere, and usually the food is on point but today I ordered a BLT and the bacon wasn't close to being cooked. So, very disappointing but the chips were good. Nice and crispy on the outside, tender and fluffy on the inside.

12/02/2025: Located on the grounds of malahide Castle makes it one of the best locations..it's very expensive for what you get..not really what I'd call value for money but pretty good for an occasional visit whenever payday comes around..you could get a takeaway coffee and muffin, or eat in the cafe overlooking the butterfly greenhouse, that you normally have to you have to pay €10 to go into in the gardens. They do cater for coeliac and vegans..plenty of seats in the restaurant.. Will go back for an afternoon of Fresh air and cafiene.

05/02/2025: Lovely pub. Great for sport. Spent the full day in Haydens last Saturday. Very nice crowd, staff were very helpful when we asked to use a reserve table bench, they phoned to check was bench definitely going to be used. Turns out it wasn't, so we stayed all day.

09/02/2025: The location, cleanliness and service was good but the food was poor for a four star hotel - we had a 3 course dinner and breakfast and both were equally poor (mushy pasta, unseasoned chips and onion rings, extremely sour/ lemony hollandaise sauce, greasy omelette, etc.). We definitely expected better. My partner and myself also had very poor sleep when staying over due to the unsupportive/ lumpy mattress.
17/12/2024: Terrific food and atmosphere. Extremely comfortable seating. Was well looked after by staff. Enjoyed it so much that my friend and I went back a second night.
On a previous solo visit I was seated near the fire, which was utterly delightful. I plan on visiting as often as I can.

Great National Hotels

07/03/2025: Very poor quality food by comparison with our previous visit when the food was of very high standard. Sadly on this occasion the burger was clearly reheated and so tough it was impossible to eat without cutting it up with a knife and fork. The hotel is in a wonderful location, the bar is very comfortable and has an amazing view of the sea but sadly we are not inclined to return.
