The best restaurants

18/08/2025: At first I requested take out and was told no. Bear in mind I was ordering nearly €70 worth of food so I thought an exception might have been made if you want my business. Everywhere else was closed on Sunday so decided to stay put and the long wait to get served ensued. So I went to the til to order but was told the waitress would be with me shortly.....there was 6 people in the place🤷‍♂️ my wife and kids arrived shortly after and we were asked to move up the the corner, out of the way basically. No drinks offered, no ask of do we need anything. A very unfriendly place and not accommodating at all. Won't be returning

22/04/2025: Ashling Hotel was a very reliable place for good traditional food. Not anymore. Had a meal there on Easter Saturday. The food was pretty mediocre. A pretty poor attempt at nouvelle cuisine. It would be better if the chef stuck with traditional menus.

06/10/2025: One member of staff kept saying that we had to move seats, so much for the customer is always right, really not good for business, we won't be back, ps all the other staff were fantastic

05/10/2025: We have been regular customers to the woolshed over the years and never had any issues but you’re asking for trouble if you go in there now. The staff are HORRIBLE. They do not respect their paying customers and we intend on telling everyone we meet to avoid the place.

28/09/2025: Great, beautiful course. Lovely to play. As a member though, it’s a competition course; comps every single day which makes it’s all but useless for many months of the year if you just want to play casual rounds as it’s so backed up or just difficult to book. I won’t renew my membership due to the difficulty dings playing slots but I’ll play the course occasionally. Staff a nice. Great facilities.

28/09/2025: The prodigal returned after forty years away.Played at Wexford as a youth. Unfortunately I didn't have time to play.It has developed into a fine golf course with a modern club...one any member should be pleased to be associated. Good panoramic views of course from the club house. Enjoy!!.. Wexford golfers and those of other fields.

30/07/2025: We went there with the family today. The food was okay. I wouldn't have eaten it if I'd seen the mice in the restaurant beforehand. 🤮 There are mice in this restaurant. 🤮

29/09/2025: The restaurant was closed even though the website said it was open. We drove 40+ km out of our way to find this place closed.

20/08/2025: We went here for my best friends birthday. The food was lovely but that was the only positive. The food was late and staggered arriving from the kitchen; meaning we all couldn’t eat at the same time. When we questioned where the desserts were, we were barked at and told to sit back down. When we finished food; me and my boyfriend had to leave early, we wanted to pay separately. This was ok however when I went to tell the girl my order and what I had, she cut across me and said the waitress will tell me. I found this very insulting as I would never give an incorrect order when paying. The waitress continued to interrupt us each time we went to tell her our order to which I responded, I know my order I don’t need you to tell me like I’m not gonna pay. The staff were ignorant, very abrupt and made the atmosphere extremely unpleasant for those who remained behind for my friends birthday. I will not be going back here and tbh this restaurant left a sour taste in my mouth. They say 1st impressions are key. This was my 1st and last time going to La Fontana. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone, life is too short for bickering!

20/08/2025: I booked a group dinner for my birthday. The staff were very attentive and helpful with securing an available time slot. They regularly checked in with me by ringing me to confirm numbers throughout the week leading up to the booking. I thought this was very thoughtful of them. However, on the night the service was very poor. The orders for food and drink were taken quickly which was good. The main courses were brought out promptly. The plates were cleared before people were finished their meals and a few of the party were being haruanged about whether they were finished. The desserts took an hour and a half, and half were brought out and the other half afterwards. The wait staff snapped at me when we asked for the other desserts. At the point of payment, it was not mentioned to me at the time of booking, over the phone when they contacted me, when we arrived and were seated nor was there any visible signage that we could not pay separately. The owner of the restaurant, an older Irish woman, shouted at my friend when she tried to request that the party of 13 people could pay separately and brought up how it was not mentioned at any point leading up to us paying. The staff continuously interrupted and cut across us every time we tried to list out what we ordered and jumped ahead to say that we had to take for xyz drinks etc. Overall the food tasted incredible however the atmosphere created by the rudeness of the staff and the delay of food was unpalatable. I would not be coming back here, even just for a date as the experience was unpleasant and we had the feeling of being rushed out the door.

10/05/2025: Great coffee shop, the staff are lovely and it's always buzzing. Very child friendly and there's a little area selling nicnaks etc. Definitely worth a visit.

17/04/2025: I visited JoJo's of Manor Rd today with Ivan, my super friendly Border Collie. Such a lovely welcoming atmosphere here. Joanne and her staff make dining there a real pleasure. The friendliness and beautifully presented food was second to none. Ivan was treated like a prince with pieces of chicken and water. Ivan and I will be making JoJo's our togo place for food and coffee whenever we are in Dublin. Tony

29/10/2025: Husband and I came in for breakfast/brunch. Service was nothing bad but the food and drink were terrible. We ordered avocado toast, shaved ham and maple benedict, a latte and fresh squeezed oj. Oj was not fresh squeezed and absolutely from concentrate. Latte was warm brown milk at best. Avocado toast was soggy and no flavor. The Benedict was old pulled pork, not a hint of maple to be found and the English muffin didn’t even touch a toaster. We each took two bites and couldn’t even try to finish our meals.

29/10/2025: I had a hard time deciding between the crispy rice salad and fish and chips. Ultimately chose the fish and it was good. The highlight was the pea puree and a lovely tartare sauce. I was a table of one during a busy time but staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall, a little pricey but understandable for the area. I would return.

18/08/2025: Dined here with my family a few weeks ago and it was absolutely fabulous! The food is clearly homemade, and you can taste the quality in every bite. Portions are generous and well worth the price. The staff are pleasant, friendly, and make you feel right at home. The restaurant itself is spotless and very clean, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

12/09/2025: 6pm today the 12th September. Place was filthy. Multiple empty tables with food and wrappers not cleared away. Flies crawling all over tables. The floor was disgusting and in a worse state than the bins pictured. Three staff members all standing around behind the counter chatting and laughing and oblivious to the filth around them. Not the first time we’ve been there and it’s a complete mess. Will definitely be the last time though.

30/08/2025: Nice place to eat.. Not so crowded. They have seating upstairs as well.

13/09/2025: The coffee is the nicest I’ve ever tasted and love their cocktails too. Staff and owners are welcoming and friendly.
