24/12/2024: This is a really nice place. Sat upstairs and looked out at the very busy street below. No rushing . Very good value. It's best to use public transport as there isn't parking on Dame St.

22/02/2025: Came in with family for a reunion. Staff were lovely and food was well priced and good quality. Always nice that I am able to bring my dog places with me. He wasn't allowed in the main dining area but that was not a problem as we were quite happy in the bar area. Location can be a little hard to find behind the bushes if you don't know whete you are going. Would come again.

18/02/2025: Staff were friendly. Landlady was very competent, but the junior staff were a bit mixed ... all were helpful, but felt like they were still learning their jobs. Food was mainly pleasant ... thai green chicken very nice but it needs some vegetables, but just pieces of chicken ... some baby sweetcorn or green beans or peas or something

05/02/2025: Howth resident. I have been going a couple of times a year since the late 90’s. Today I asked for a baguette. I ordered turkey, the slices were very thin so I asked for approximately 8. Along with cheese and onion. I refused the offer to have it toasted. I waited at the til where I was told it was €7 and they toasted it anyway. I repeated it was NOT to be toasted. She remade it on the wrong bread and slapped it together. Staff needs training. We will not be revisiting.

12/01/2025: Great selection of food for takeaway lunch, but they spent way too long toasting the rolls, my roll was almost burnt when I had it

06/02/2025: I’m giving this location a one star rating simply because wheelchair access and egress is a joke. There is a nice ramp going into the establishment, but the door leads to a fire exit door therefore it cannot be opened from the outside. This forces the wheelchair patron to have to navigate through the drive thru lane to gain access to the establishment. This wheelchair access/egress pattern is very poorly thought out and is simply a “token” inclusivity gesture. For such a new looking location, this is very poor on SuperMac’s part. Shame on you!

14/02/2025: Ordered food at 8:40 on Deliveroo and it was expected between 10:00 - 10:35 :/ and the restaurant is after closing and I can’t even get a refund and there’s no food to be seen

14/02/2025: Ordered food tonight at 8.45pm. Told 30-35 mins wait. Came back in 35 mins later to be told 20 more mins. It was 9.55 when we got our food which was ridiculous for 2 burgers and 2 chips to be cooked. Food was lovely, but the wait time was diabolical. Ordered a coke zero & fanta to be told when we finally got the food no fanta left. Not the end of the world but why take an order for something ye didn't have. Would be hesitating to return to be honest.

16/02/2025: Food was lovely but service was a shambles. Went in for breakfast and got tea and toast fairly quickly but had to wait 25 to 30 minutes for breakfast. At this stage the tea and toast was cold and we asked for fresh tea and toast. The tea never arrived and the toast arrived as we were leaving.

05/02/2025: I've been here twice. Dreadful, I'll not return. First occasion - Eagerly await Eggs Benedict : What arrived was NOT Eggs Benedict but rather a poached egg with an over grilled semi-hard rasher on top in a bun, no sign of the Ham however I assume the Rasher was supposed to be a substitute for it. Second visit was for Coffee and Scones. The Coffee was Lukewarm (a big no-no) and the Scones appeared to be either stale or very badly made. Either way they were terrible and were promptly returned. Having made literally hundreds of Scones myself it's a simple enough job and the right ingredients gives you wonderful scones in around 10 minutes. Considering how easy and inexpensive it is to make Scones there is NO EXCUSE whatsoever for putting out stale Scones. Portlaoise and its surrounding eateries are forever heating up Scones for us without asking - the reason is that warmed Scones or Pie disguise that it's not fresh. The Scones here thankfully were served Cold but unfortunately were extremely unpalatable and quite disgusting. I have no idea why this place scores well with reviews however Portlaoise is well known for dreadful food and terrible cafes. It's a gastronomical horror show in Laois with the County constantly astounding me with the level of "tripe" served up as food. I travel extensively throughout Ireland and without a doubt Laois has the least appealing eateries in the entire Country. Shame really.

07/01/2025: Great country pub serving a lovely pint of Guinness. Bar staff are attentive, a lovely fire keeping the place warm and sporting events on the TV's. What more could a visitor from Australia ask for.

02/01/2025: Had high hopes for this place but was sadly let down by the service. The lady who took out order was absolutely lovely but two members of staff seemed very unhappy to be there, and made us feel very uncomfortable. Twice they asked a little boy to stop "banging" the chair despite the fact that he clearly wasn't annoying anyone but them. When a party came in late asking to be seated for lunch they very rude to them saying " lunch is over but I suppose this once we can serve you" Never been made to feel so uncomfortable in an establishment in my life. Couldn't wait to get out of there to be honest. Such a pity. Must do better, Nook

09/02/2025: I visited the dunness in Ennis. The store is excellent l, it was well stocked and. Lean and tidy. The only thing that left it down was there was no toilet in the baby change forcing me to change my baby then use the disabled.

02/01/2025: Nice setting. The BBQ Wings are very good and very plentiful, The Cajun chiken wrap excellent. The classic acceptable club sandwich, nothing more. The soup too salty for our taste

07/03/2025: Sensationally good blue cheese burger. I was hesitant about the pineapple but the extremely polite and helpful guy working there gently persuaded me to try it and it was a gamechanger, I’ll 100% be back.
