22/11/2025: Everything just perfect, thank you!

03/05/2025: The drinks were nice, but I had to collect my coffee myself. Although it was ready, no one called me to pick it up, and I waited a long time while the staff were busy chatting among themselves. I can understand if the coffee shop operates on a self-service basis, but at the very least, customers should be notified when their order is ready. Instead, the drinks were left sitting there and ended up being cold. If you don’t check for yourself, they’ll just leave it there. Overall, not a good experience.

09/07/2025: Vegan and vegetarian options only, it's ok but I have had better elsewhere. ***Update as requested by the owner- reviewing experience from three months ago. Had "the garden gate" and a matcha latte.

22/05/2025: Super surprise in finding this place for vegetarian and vegan food. We had three full plates normally costing € 10.50 were priced down to €5.50 as it was after 1 pm. Food was very tasty and I am not easily impressed.

05/04/2026: No wheat breakfast; delicious & fresh. So many options for gluten free it was hard to choose. Cosy cafe which was very welcoming, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

03/04/2026: Very lovely place for coffee and breakfast. Love the staff here as they were super duper friendly. And we really loved the atmosphere of the place, as we feel like there are many hidden easter eggs hidden in this place! Totally recommend. Everything here is amazing!

09/04/2026: I loved the veggie wrap from the menu. I sometimes especially went to McDonald's for that meal. Unfortunately this meal was taken out of the menu. Now the only wegetarian option is McPlant. Only one option and sugar, sugar, sugar. I used to respect McDonald's for promoting meatless meals but they don't do it anymore. So there's no point for me to go back there.

10/02/2026: Went with family for my mam's birthday and the food & service were great. Lovely friendly staff and delicious food. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to book a party or event. Thanks to all who looked after us 🙌🏼🙌🏼

06/02/2026: I was served by Anna, Katie and Reece, excellent servers who provided good quality customer service. Food was good, and moderately priced, very much a sports pub vibe so if that’s what you’re into it’ll be perfect for you

26/11/2025: We had a wonderful evening at Fatted Calf. The ambiance was beautiful, and lovely background music played softly. The welcome was warm and inviting. The service was attentive, humorous, and never intrusive! The food was divine! The combination of the appetizer with the black pudding croquettes, the scallops, and the various sauces was an explosion of flavor! Thank you! For the main course, the meat was tender and juicy with a delicious chimichurri sauce. Wonderful! The desserts were simply amazing! Our restaurant visit was the highlight of our time here in Athlone!

07/12/2025: Sadly not the best stay, double bed made of two singles but the joint was awful so no point. The pool is nothing like the pictures with only 3 beds so you can’t relax there. If you get a room near the front you’ll be awake all night with traffic and people about. Better choices out there

30/06/2026: We enjoyed few dinners and few cocktails in this restaurant in the last couple of years and food was always great and service was ok but today I had to basically chase the waiters to place an order. After dinner we asked for desert menu, menu was brought to the table but no one followed up to take the order nor clear the table in case we wanted tea or coffee with desert...I had to go over to look for a waiter to ask for desert. At last we asked for the bill and again no one came to the table to collect the bill card and give change, and I had to look for them at the bar where three waiters were standing and chatting away! Such a lovely place pity the service is poor even on a Tuesday afternoon when it wasn t very busy!

27/06/2026: The vegan menu could be improved. Bruschetta is not a main course, no matter what anyone says. The Thai Green Curry costs a lot for how much you get. If Tofu was added to it, without adding to the current cost. It would be good value.

30/06/2026: Good softplay but price always keeps creeping up.

30/06/2026: We love it as a family! So much to do. We start in soft play, then onto the arcade games and sometimes finish with bowling. The coffee is lovely and food is really good.

30/05/2026: It was a delicious meal with excellent service. They accommodated us when fully booked and I'm so delighted they did. The goats cheese salad and roast cod were amazing. An Eton mess to top off an amazing meal. 👏

19/05/2026: A lovely restaurant in the square in Rosscarbery just beside an equally nice pub, Nolan’s. This family run restaurant serves excellent food and with great service and a lovely atmosphere. We had a reservation for Saturday evening. The Dover sole was excellent as was the Cod with muscle sauce (also many muscles). Will have to return soon.
