The service was top-notch, attentive and friendly, making us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing meal. 17/12/2024: Lovely real log fire. G8 staff years of experience in dealing with people. Top class good cuts of meat. lightly cooked veg, red cabbage to die for. Olde world atmosphere. Caters for Non alcohol drinkers.

05/11/2024: We got married in the nearby Dorlindon forest and then had lunch here, a welcoming place, excellent food, we never got up but unfortunately they needed the table, it's often a very crowded place.

16/02/2025: As a family of 4 we arrived at 5.00pm and were served at 6.20. When I queried why food was so long the staff turned unfriendly to the point of being rude. We finished our main course and were left to our devices. No clean up of the table or asked if desert was an option. Food was fine but as we all know the experience adds a lot more to your value for money. We have been a long time happy customer but it will be a long time before I go back.

11/02/2025: I’ve been here 2 times to get a double cheese everything on it and MEDIUM.. both times I got a Weldon’s burger.. you can see the kitchen staff are just teenagers.. no experience or care for the beautiful brand Bunsen created in the city centre.. eating in the city centre for years and not once did i get an over cooked burger… not once.. the blanch location is a waste of money

05/10/2024: this goes to show how personal taste is, I saw one of the few bad reviews complaining that the polled pork wrap was tasteless, when I absolutely loved the flav or explosion it provided imho. it wasn't too salty, but instead had a lof of juicier flavor component blended together so well, that I struggle to name them. it was also a very good sized dish and came with 3 salads all of which were good, and I wish I could ask for the kale quinoa salad recipe (I am usually not a fan of Q or uncooked K but OMG soo good and light). yes I understand that it is a to go place and thus the cutlery is wooden, I honestly wish it would have been wooden chopsticks which would have made eating easier. I LOVED it . If I lived in the athlone region we would be regulars.

04/10/2024: If you traverse the country and need a food break, or just are lucky enough to live in the area, this place is AMAZING. yes it is nestled into a very utilitarian space but it has roofed outdoor possibilities in addition to the few cozy seats and a good restroom. But the FOOD..the food is just amazing. I had a wrap with 3 salads. And in addition to them being sooo good (but yes quite spicy) I can tell they are designed to hold up the "leftover" time periods of take out, which is rare in salads..also..a kale salad with quinoa that tasted good and LIGHT?? Amazing. If I lived in Arhlone this place would be at the top of my regular rotation for take out. Soo good. Thank you for feeding ne so well.
