03/11/2025: I don't even know where to start. I'm an actor and the production company booked this "hotel" for me for a few days. I had really early morning starts for work and got back late in the evenings. I just needed a place to rest at night . When I first rang them, the woman was very rude on the phone. That should have told me everything I needed to know about the place but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe she's busy and stressed and that's why she was rude. After filming all day I would just want to eat and sleep (not socialize, or eat out) . Late finish times usually means take away food would be the easiest option however this 'hotel' does not allow you to have take away food. They played really really loud music, they could have turned it down a bit . A man and a guitar how loud can it be???? The sound was awful on my room. I got zero sleep. And somehow it went on from 9:30 pm until 1:30am. When I rang them to complain (I really needed sleep) I was having bad chest pains and thought I was gonna have a heart attack) the guy on the phone tells me " we have trad night, we advertise this everywhere, so why would you book this place to stay in?" This were his exact words. I told him I didn't book it, the company booked it. He was so rude. As well as the woman . I often stay away for work but I've never never experienced such bad manners. They don't care about their guests staying in the accommodations. On fact they're not accommodating at all. I could go on about this but I won't. Eventually I found the most peaceful b&b called the meetings bnb. It was absolute paradise. The staff took such good care of me. Please check this place out before booking at jacobs well. The meetings is surrounded by trees and the two rivers meet. It's tranquil but most importantly the staff is actually KIND , that's all I needed. I know if Jacobs well responds to this it will be the same defensive narci responses. Fyi booking.com did not advertise loud music . I tried sleeping in the shower, hoping it would drown out the noise some what with the fan but it didn't at all. Because the speakers were insanely loud Oof it was an awful awful experience. Might as well save money and sleep in the car. Yes I did! People like this really shouldn't be in business. If you wanna relax and eat what you want go somewhere else. A response to this narcissist, and defensive owner- I called only twice ( only to make payment because you told me it had to be don't over the phone. Absolutely not a single person had let me know that this room was over the bar. The fact that you still come on here to lie shows how absolutely awful you people are. I actually feel sorry to the people that have to deal with you on a daily basis.

04/09/2025: Really enjoyed my visit here. The service was excellent and Lana behind the bar was amazing, friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Will definitely be back!

19/09/2025: I had such a great experience ! The burger was fresh and delicious, full of flavour, and the shawarma was juicy and so yummy. My son is usually very picky with food, but even he loved it .and that says a lot! The whole family enjoyed the meal. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend! The best think I like as mom ,the kitchen and the shop is very clean, normally I do t eat outside but I really love to eat or order from here 😁

15/07/2025: Hello. We’d like to share our disappointing experience at your café. We approached a staff member (not sure if they were a cashier or a waiter) to ask about the price of the tiramisu. Unfortunately, they didn’t know and just ran off saying “one moment” — we ended up waiting for about three minutes while they were gone. Eventually, they came back and told us it was €3 for a portion of tiramisu served in a plastic container, around 200 grams. Sadly, the dessert was very disappointing: it was hard in texture, had an overpowering smell of alcohol, and the taste was unpleasant — we couldn’t finish it and had to throw it away. Moreover, no one told us if we were allowed to sit anywhere, so we ended up eating on a worn-out bench in the shopping centre. We also had to ask for spoons separately. Overall, there was no proper service and the quality of the food was extremely poor.

31/08/2025: Such a nice coffee shop and the actual coffee was 10/10 - staff were lovely and Orla made one of the nicest coffees I’ve had in a long time! The galaxy cookie was delicious, definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back. Outdoor seating area is very cute as well

26/08/2025: The mangoes🥭🥭 are absolutely delicious, i only asked for 6,7 mangoes but got 41 for the same price. Great customer service. The shope owner Adrian also served me some freee eeffoc, beautiful experience all around.

31/12/2025: 3 days before my reservation, Mara restaurant detained 800 euro from my card. The short version of this story is it took 2 weeks before I received the money back...And numerous phone calls and messages to the restaurant, my bank. Mara did not seem to know why I was charged in advance of the booking. I was so angry at the unauthorised deduction I cancelled the booking so I cannot review the food, service or atmosphere as I didn't go. I will never go to this restaurant. I am pretty outraged by this treatment and deeply mistrustful of ever giving my credit card again for reservation anywhere.

31/12/2025: Eur800.00 was deducted by Mara restaurant 4 days before the date of the reservation. No prior advice or agreement was given. I rang the restaurant owner thinking this was a mistake and the conversation began with an argument, no apology. I cancelled the reservation as a result and - in fairness - the money was returned immediately. I never received any apology for this transaction from Mara which leads me to believe they think this practice is ok. Avoid giving your card for reservation. Maybe the food is good but I'll never find out.

19/02/2026: Brilliant place for a breakfast. Every time I’m in Rathdrum I will call here. 10/10 . The staff are friendly and most welcoming.

30/12/2025: Woman behind the counter refused to serve us and was very rude. Claimed they were too busy to serve us, despite half of their tables being empty. Terrible customer service. AVOID AT ALL COST!

05/03/2026: Ordered the chicken Dhansak. Great food with great flavour and spice. Service is great and staff are attentive. Atmosphere is also lovely with a warm interior. Would highly recommend.

24/02/2026: Excellent service, delicious food, the waiter was always friendly, I would definitely go back.

13/03/2026: Stopped in for an early lunch while waiting to catch a train. Bar staff were attentive and friendly. Food was served quickly and came out piping hot. I ordered the bangers & mash and it was absolutely delicious. Couldn’t have picked a better dish.

24/02/2026: Our room had a great view of the cathedral, comfortable beds, a big, delicious breakfast, friendly staff and a Chinese restaurant on site. We’d definitely stay here again!

07/03/2026: Had read many great reviews from this place went there last night very disappointed, fish was badly battered oily and overcooked the chips were cold and the atmosphere in the place was.... Matching the food. It cost 37 euro for two fish and chips and a burger,was very badly packed for a take away fish and chip shop .
