The best restaurants

30/11/2025: I used to love Nancy’s Bar, but during my last visit it became obvious that non-white customers are treated differently by the bouncers. I was allowed in, yet my husband who is non-white and was properly dressed was denied entry without any explanation. This was unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I won’t be returning to Nancy’s again, which is unfortunate because the bar staff have always been lovely.

30/11/2025: I visited Limerick for one night with a friend after traveling all the way from Galway, and unfortunately our experience at Nancy Blake’s was extremely disappointing. When we reached the entrance, the bouncer refused us entry with a vague “not tonight guys,” even though we were sober, respectful, and simply looking to enjoy the night. What made the situation worse was watching the group directly behind us—local white patrons—walk in without any questions or hesitation. When we politely asked for a reason for being denied, none was given. The entire interaction felt discriminatory and left us feeling singled out for no legitimate reason. As visitors who were excited to experience the city’s nightlife, this was a genuinely upsetting moment. No one should be treated like this at the door of any establishment. I hope the management takes this seriously, because experiences like this leave a lasting negative impression on travelers.

07/06/2026: I absolutely loved the view here. It’s the kind of place where you can sit for hours, enjoy the scenery, and completely lose track of time. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the experience even better. The only downside for me was the coffee. I ordered a cappuccino, but both the taste and the foam were a bit disappointing and didn’t meet my expectations. That said, I’m willing to give it another try, as it may have been an off day rather than a reflection of their usual quality. Despite that, it’s a lovely spot with a great atmosphere, beautiful views, and excellent service. I’d happily visit again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind.

18/05/2026: Highly recommend the Irish breakfast here. Everything was high-quality from the sausages to this sourdough bread and fresh eggs. Coffee was good as well Not to mention they were playing our country music station. :) Ella and Morgan were on :)

26/09/2025: This is a lovely cafe. Very clean and well looked after with excellent service. Great coffee, but also great food, which is a rare combination, as most cafes offer you ham & cheese and BLT. Food here is very nicely cooked and presented. Highly recommended.

18/09/2025: Excellent service and variety of food is very good and tasty. However the Prices have been significantly Increased and regretfully our 10 year relationship has been terminated as a result.. Pity!

16/05/2026: We visited this tiny village by accident and instantly fell in love with the people and quaint town. I saw the Chinese restaurant and we decided to take a chance. Boy, Howdy!! It was fantastic. The restaurant is very clean and elegant. We were next to a cozy heater and we're attended to right away by friendly servers. We started with these airy crispy delicious light savory chip things that appear like pillowy clouds but have a light texture. I didn't detect the prawn flavor so had to stop where my husband reminded me of my shellfish allergy but I almost risked it anyway because they were so perfect. The crispy won tons are so pretty. They look like a button of filling with a pretty twist of flaky dough tied up like a scarf and quickly fried to a perfect golden brown. They are like a little present for your mouth and the rice filling was sweet and a perfect soft and chewy texture . The duck sauce is a lovely compliment for dipping. I had to force myself to stop so I'd have room for the entree. My husband said he loved the hot and sour soup. He asked to bring the leftovers back with us so that's a high endorsement. I ordered an Irish beef and green pepper in black bean sauce and some noodles . They arrived in short order and were presented like a sizzling fajita in a steaming platter on a wood base. The smell had me giggling with anticipation. The stir fried noodles were delicate and cooked to a perfect texture. They weren't gooey with sauce but lightly tossed so the flavors and seasonings coated but didn't smother the string sized noodles. My husband got the Thai prawns and curry. A platter arrived with my entree and nested beside on a heating gadget. We dug in deep. I knew from the appetizers that the food was going to be top notch. I wasn't wrong. The beef was tender and cooked to perfection. The sauce had a great kick but was eased by the richness of the black beans and peppercorns. But it was the green peppers and onions that impressed me. They weren't overcooked but sliced easily and I swam a bite in the sauce and bit into the most well cooked green pepper. It still had a fresh from the garden crispness but hot and juicy going down. We were already in love with the village and such open and kind people that we would have happily eaten pub food, again. But what a treat this restaurant is. If you're lucky enough to be in Ireland, especially within a 100 km of Galway then do your mouth a favor and get dinner here. They also do take away but the service is so good you deserve to treat yourself and some loved ones to a sit down service. If there were ten stars I'd pick 11.

17/02/2026: Absolutely amazing place and food! Usually get Capri Grill some weekend and the food always lives up to it's expectations. The girl at the counter is very nice and everyone else! The good thing. Loads of seats and tables aswell if you don't get a take away. Would defininetely reccomend getting food here

16/02/2026: Terrible staff extremely racist. Went in for a few drinks with my friends and they told me they wouldn’t serve me because they thought because I was a traveller that I was the person they had problems with in the past, when I tried to explain that it was not me, the lady put her hand in my face and slapped my hands and phone away. Never felt more embarrassed in my life. Was told I would get a call back with an apology and got nothing of the sort. If I could give 1 star I would.

06/01/2026: The meat here is incredible! I ordered the ribeye sandwich for 15 euros; it was generously filled and came with delicious roast potatoes. It's definitely one of the best places in Cork for meat in terms of value, as these types of restaurants in Ireland are usually expensive, but here all the stalls have roughly the same prices.

26/10/2025: We had dinner at the restaurant, and it was delicious, with very generous portions. I tried the Wicklow Venison, which was delicious. The place, although small, is cozy. One nice thing I found nice was that we arrived after a hike in inappropriate clothing, and they were super friendly and attentive.

25/05/2026: The food here was delicious! This was an impromptu stop and so happy we did. Great portion sizes, fresh and hot. Good options for kids.

24/05/2026: Read a couple of low score reviews around undercooked bacon (which I hate) but I just mentioned it to the very friendly staff and the bacon was perfect. Highly recommended full Irish in rathmore. Bustling with a mix of locals and drive throughs. Family run place where the kids were going to tables to ensure the guests had everything they needed- very nice place and reasonably priced too.

20/05/2026: We visited yesterday and were left genuinely disappointed by our experience. We ordered 2 pints, chicken wings, and garlic cheese chips, coming to €40, which already felt steep. When the chips arrived, we were surprised to find the “garlic” element was simply 3 to 4 raw, roughly chopped garlic cloves dumped on top, completely overpowering and inedible. We politely asked if we could swap to the bacon cheese chips instead, but what came back appeared to be the exact same dish, simply reheated. We know this for certain because we had put a small amount of ketchup on the chips before requesting the change, and the replacement plate came back with the same ketchup stains still visible. Nothing had changed. When we raised our concern, we were told “it is what it is”, which we found dismissive and frankly unprofessional. Even your own waitress visibly reacted to the amount of garlic on the plate. We are not ones to complain, but €40 for this experience, the food quality, the refusal to properly address our request, and the indifferent attitude, was not acceptable. We would welcome a response and hope this is taken as constructive feedback.

07/05/2026: A lovely layout with a well equipped beer garden, which included tv. This was very welcome for the large groups of Man Utd & some Liverpool fans. The food was delicious and the Guinness was 👍 Staff were efficient & friendly.

20/04/2026: It was a great time at KFC (Eastgate), enjoyed the chicken meal and the ambience. The food was served hot with all the staff having smiles on their face. Thank you Mahitha (KFC team member) for support all the way during ordering, payment and enjoying meal (#6222).
