15/03/2026: Great golf club nice restaurant great for tea coffee and stone for breakfast. Lovely staff.

02/03/2026: I recently enquired about booking tee times at Galway Golf Club and was very disappointed with the experience. My interaction with the General Manager, Peter Moran, was extremely unhelpful. Responses were limited to brief two-word replies like “unfortunately no,” with no effort made to suggest alternative tee times or offer any solutions. When I followed up to ask if there was any weekday tee time availability at all, I received no reply. As someone genuinely looking to book and pay for tee times, I found the lack of engagement and basic customer service surprising. A little effort to assist or even point me toward alternative options would have gone a long way. Very disappointing experience overall.

27/02/2026: The quality skyrocketed down in the last few years… So sad. Not the first time they messed up my order, went back, they fixed it. That’s nice. Wouldn’t overload with toppings, but whatever… Then I’ve bring home the second pizza find plastic fibres IN the pizza all over. Landed in the bin. The chili sauce is a basically water… The chips are frozen tasteless chips… The dough is tastes like frozen pizzas. I have NO idea how is this place advertise itself as an authentic Italian restaurant.

14/02/2026: Absolutely disgusted with the experience I had in this restaurant today for valentines. Didn't realise they doubled the prices for the meals and deserts for valentines. When youre thinking theyre doing a deal for the occasion it was sorely mistaken. A singular main was 30 euro for the selected few. Each dessert was 15 euro. And every conversation you had they were watching and listening. Couple near by to us was discussing how outrageous the prices were as well and the waitress was watching them. Ive never had an unpleasant experience in this restaurant but I will not be going back after this daylight robbery. 4 people should not cost over 160 euro Could hear customer on the phone looking to make an order his total came to 190 euro and low and behold he was not having it as that is just disgusting pricing.

13/10/2025: Visited this lovely cafe with my kids last weekend and had an amazing experience, the staff were all so friendly but Vicky stood out to us as she was so friendly,helpful and great with the kids she was absolutely flawless. food was also great i had the chicken blaa was delish will defo be back. Thank you Vicky!!!!!

17/10/2025: Lovely options of salad, fancy price but tasty. Very helpful workers to decide your salad size and ingredients.

09/10/2025: Ordered a sprout from Deliveroo and the salad was freezing when delivered, the portion was tiny with half the bowl empty and they gave next to no sauce. So disappointing given how expensive it is

09/12/2025: I had heard so many good things about Brownes and the food truck that my partner and I decided to book a table for 6 people 2 weeks in advance in the outdoor area, a family get together which we were all looking forward to . On arriving into Brownes 15 mins before our booked time we were told that there was no table and we could not stay as they had a split the G contest for charity going on. My partner approached the lady that had taken the booking who had forgotten all about it and only we had it on the phone to show her she would not have believed us. I had driven from Dublin with two others to be there so to say I was annoyed would be an understatement. The lady did after we spoke to her offer to keep us a table but we would have to wait, or we could sit in smoking area which as none of us smoke was not suitable. We did wait for 15mins but decided to go somewhere else as we did not want our family night out completely ruined. My partner contacted Brownes and was given a €30.00 voucher, which I thought was a derisory token considering there was 6 people 3 of which had travelled from Dublin. I for one will not be returning if this is how they value their customers. I find Brownes handling of this issue totally unacceptable and if they had double booked they should have informed us so we could make alternative arrangements. Everything about this incident should be used as an example of how not run a business.

20/02/2026: Came here on a quiet Thursday afternoon with my elderly grandmother, mother and two young children. The service was great, the lady who served us was really friendly to the kids and helpful when we had questions. I chose off the specials menu, roast duck with mash, veg and gravy and it was the nicest bit of food I’ve had in a while. Granny had fish and chips, great size and she had enough to take home (staff gave us takeaway tubs for my granny to heat hers up later). My mum had the bruschetta starter and onion rings as her main, everything was delicious and generous portions! The kids (and me) were delighted to see a robot delivering the food, it was a new experience for us. Kids enjoyed their food, however I think it would be good to have the option of peas, or beans or salad along with the kids menu though.

05/10/2025: Long day walking the Cliffs of Moher and we were looking for someplace to eat and rest our feet. Gatto Rosso let us do both. I have an extreme dairy allergy so Italian restaurants are always a challenge. Add to that our server was very new and I ordered a no cheese pizza. Not gonna lie, I was worried. I shouldn't have been. Either the manager or the owner came out and confirmed that I wanted a no cheese pizza and assured me it would be free of any dairy. What I got was one of the best pizzas I have ever had in my life. I ate the whole darn thing because it was so good. SO got pasta and loved it. Oh and the beer was excellent. We sat outside in the beautiful weather and people watched. When we are back in Galway not in a heat wave I will gladly sit inside. Great food, great location and exceptional service. Thank you!

26/09/2025: Food was ok the pizza was a bit raw and the prices high even considering the location still a bit to much (Margherita 17.50) Service was ok a bit slow but friendly. All in all acceptable but not really good

16/10/2025: It might have been the time of day but I am 53 and I felt like the youngest person there by far. It is a nice pub and I will return. The Guinness was good and the food was good. A worthwhile stop. The bartender and the chef were very friendly and welcoming.

02/12/2025: So so fun! We were looking for nice bits to get for Christmas like jams and then to look at the farm animals. Staff is so friendly - we went on a week day and had the place to ourselves!!

09/11/2025: Ideal spot for some lunch or a coffee and cake. Has a lovely fire in the dining area. They also have some animals you can visit. We thoroughly enjoyed the pigs munching on the pumpkins! The farm shop has a nice bits too and antique attached. An afternoon well spend!

08/03/2026: It's probably one of the best Supermacs in County Galway. The food is literally cooked fresh once you order in store. Online collection orders are usually just being packed at the specified time. ALL the staff in Athenry are so friendly, so helpful,so observant, so efficient and genuinely just nice people.. It's hard to get that kind of service anywhere, anymore.. Most importantly, the Supermacs team in Athenry are consistent in all aspects of their service !! So many other branches could learn a lot from this team 👏🏻100%

03/03/2026: I’ve been a regular here for years, but the quality has plummeted. The hygiene standards are now genuinely concerning; I witnessed staff coughing, sneezing, and touching their faces/noses immediately before handling food without washing their hands. ​Communication has also become a major hurdle, requiring a translator just to place a basic order at the till. I ordered the 5 oz burger meal, and it was a total letdown. The bun was bone-dry and "petrified," the meat itself was barely lukewarm, and the presentation was a mess—it looked more like a dropped kebab than a burger. After years of coming here, this experience was the final straw.

27/02/2026: This is a chicken joint and It really hits the spot. There is chicken and a sauce or flavour to tickle everyone’s fancy. Great options. I had a Biscoff milkshake with my chicken and it was delicious. I’d come back for this alone. I dined in here when I visited and there is some small issues, none of which are related to the food but the dining area The door doesn’t close properly and people really struggle with this, it was cold the day I visited and because the door was left slightly open a lot it really chilled the room down a lot. The delivery order machine makes a terrible sound when trying to have a conversation with someone. Please fix these Good chicken and great overall.
