The best restaurants

18/05/2026: Still says it’s open on Maps and we walked there. Was not open

09/03/2026: We went to the restaurant because it looked very nice from the outside, and we made a reservation for the next day without any problem. The place is simple, but it has great lighting, making it very cozy and not noisy at all. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and they give excellent advice when choosing dishes. The food is delicious and very authentic, nothing like the Chinese food many of us are used to. I highly recommend it, whether you're going with a large group or for a smaller, more relaxed meal!

03/09/2026: love this place so much, always great crowd, always the best time. so disappointed with the service tonight, very snarky bartender. she talked down to us after we questioned our half filled drink. it had been served in a different glass but that wasn’t the issue, just the attitude.

20/08/2026: I went in with a few mates and I ordered a drink and they asked for my ID as to which I gave them and they took a look at it then looked at me then told me to go somewhere else even tho the ID clearly looks like me. I added the photo of my ID and a photo of me just to prove it was definitely me in this complaint

02/09/2026: Here on Google Maps, it says this place is open until 19:00. We came in a few minutes past 18:00. They served us coffee in disposable take-away cups only because, according to the server, they were closing soon. I mentioned to her that they were supposed to be open for another full hour, but received no response. ​At 18:30, another staff member walked up to our table and said in an extremely rude tone, "You have to leave NOW!" With a strong emphasis on the word "now". There was no courteous warning or time given to use the restroom, just an order to leave immediately after taking our money. When I asked, "Can I use the restroom real quick? It said that you're open till 19:00," I was met with another, "No, you have to leave NOW!" ​This was a terrible experience. Costa Coffee? Never again!

14/07/2026: The best deli in leinster!!! Still haven't been charged over €5 for a roll which is the way it should be!! Their KFC style chicken Is amazing!!!! Edit… gone down hill since take over that roll you now need to remortgage the house to afford one!!

02/06/2026: I found this place, after spending time at the hospital and having not been to Castlebar for a while, i was heading to the coffee bar next door. I saw Rua and was drawn to going inside. Rua is a lovely little deli, selling fresh bread, baked goods, sandwiches and deli boxes along with your normal deli pickles, sauces, wine, meats and cheese, coffee, tinned items etc. Really good selection. The coffee is great and you get a little piece of shortbread with it too, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff are friendly, they have a great choice at reasonable deli prices. I am a coffee fan and everytime I visit the area, I struggle to find somewhere who can make a decent cortado. This is the best I've found, in Mayo. The whole carrot cake looked delicious and will be next on my list to try as well as the mint straciatella ice-cream. It's weird that it's the small things that make difficult situations slightly more bearable. Many people don't know how they impact on someone's day. After a rough few days, Rua was a haven for me and just a simple well-made coffee and a piece of shortbread can make such a huge difference. Thank you for doing what you do.

23/02/2026: Scones look delicious today but unfortunately were very dry and broke up like dust when I tried to butter them

28/07/2026: As soon as we arrived the owner kindly offered to do half and half as we thought we weren't that hungry.....we ended up having 2 Margaritas, 2 Pepperonis, a Vegetarian and to my delight a Neapolitan. All 6 of us agreed it was up there with the absolute best pizza we've ever eaten! Superb ingredients, perfectly cooked! Will definitely be back.

01/09/2026: Connor is a ray of sunshine, and Roisin is the magnifying glass and together they could burn down the city with their whimsical ways of serving while entertaining. The cafe opens early enough so nobody needs to drink cr*ppy starbucks, come to Roots!

06/09/2026: Came to enjoy a drink while in the local area. The tiny bar was full of a group of men. Nothing against them they seemed nice just loud. Myself and my boyfriend wanted a quiet drink so asked if we could sit inside. There was not one person in there and we were refused unless we ate. I would compleatly understand if the place was busy or even half full but there was not a soul in there. We left and went somewhere else.

27/08/2026: Honestly not impressed with the quality, quantity,and the price for the 4 star was nuts. I wouldn't pay that in other 5 star hotels in the same county which I have worked in and stay in so am talking from experience. Staff were great,no complaints there

20/08/2026: Absolutely loved The Glasshouse. The interior is stunning — stylish, elegant and very atmospheric, with a beautiful bar and great views. The food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the pizza and the cheese board, and the cocktails were fantastic — beautifully presented and very well made. Service was friendly and attentive, and the whole place has a really nice relaxed but upscale feel. Definitely one of those places where you can comfortably spend an evening enjoying good food, cocktails and the atmosphere. A great experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back!
