Bistro 41

Nenagh
12/01/2025: The food was excellent. The staff were mostly friendly. The manager seemed very nice. There was another short lady with glasses who was not pleasant, though sadly, which is why we dropped one star.
12/01/2025: Very nice food. Quick, friendly service. Beautiful pint of Guinness brought in from the must see pub next door

Dublin
02/01/2025: Loved this place will definitely go back
20/12/2024: Gone downhill! Used to love this place but standard have dropped dramatically. Service is very slow and unprofessional. Half of dishes that came out were cold and food quality was quite poor. Sizzling Chicken dishes were definitely not sizzling!

The Carraig

Greystones
10/10/2024: A Rock of a pub! **🍻 The Carrigg in Kilincarrig: Where Legends Brew 🍻** Nestled amidst the quiet of Kilincarrig, this mythical pub emerges like a forgotten treasure chest. Its timeworn door, etched with tales of yore, beckons wanderers and dreamers alike. Step inside, and you'll be swept away by an intoxicating blend of history, magic, and camaraderie. **The Atmosphere:** Imagine a symphony of laughter, clinking tankards, and haunting ballads. The air hums with secrets whispered by ancient stones. The hearth crackles, casting shadows on the faces of patrons—pirates, poets, and lost souls. The walls, adorned with memories, harbor the echoes of countless toasts. **The Libations:** The Carraig's brewmaster, a sorcerer in disguise, concocts elixirs that defy reason. Sip the "Mist of Lugnaquilla," a potion that transports you to Arthurian realms. Or perhaps the "Whispering whiskey," which reveals forgotten truths. And when the moon waxes full, and the Carrick Curse flows with brews that bind hearts and fates. **The Enigma:** Legend has it that the pub's cornerstone was laid by a banshee, her wails etching magic into the stones. The mirror behind the bar reflects not your visage but your soul's deepest desires. Beware the hidden door—the one that leads to Avalon or oblivion, depending on your courage. **The Carraig's Oath:** "Here, all are equal—kings and beggars, poets and pickpockets. Raise your glass to the moon, for she knows our secrets. And when the storm howls, remember: The Carraig shelters not just bodies but dreams." So, fellow wanderer, step into the Carraig in Kilincarrig. Let its whispers weave your destiny, and may your heart find solace in its ancient embrace. 🌙🔮

Blouser's Pub

Westport
21/10/2024: Excellent pub and a wonderful function room upstairs. Always a pleasure to put events on there.
15/10/2024: No food. Cash only. An authentic pub in the middle of town, where host and customers will be interested in hearing where you've been and where you're going.

The Islander Takeaway

Keel-dooagh
20/10/2024: Standard chipper. Being the only chipper around for miles they have potential to be so much better. Right beside the camp site so easy access from there and the beach. Super busy, but that’s because it’s the only takeaway place around.
14/09/2024: We were on holiday for a week on Achill and went on a search for the best food on the island. Once we tried The Islander, everyone in the family just wanted to go back again and again. And you can! The menu has so much variety, we could have spent a month there trying new things. One of our favourites was Alex's Argentine Beef Burger - Alex, you're a genius. So, the food's great, it's great value for money and service is fast and friendly. If the owners ever fancy expanding the business towards Ulster, you’ve already got eager customers waiting in Monaghan!!

Insomnia Coffee Company - Portmarnock

Portmarnock
23/11/2024: Wonderful staff, and of course the coffee was excellent. It's always a delight to be served by courteous and helpful people, a big plus every time.
14/11/2024: Staff shouldn’t be working with food if they’re sick. Coughing all over the place, not covering mouth when coughing, not washing hands after coughing into them. Did we learn nothing during COVID?

Jurys Inn Cork

Cork
08/02/2025: This is definitely not a 4* standard as advertised. Facilities in the room aren't great, no fridge, basic tea and coffee - there's nothing luxurious about this stay. Rooms need a revamp and a good clean, the settee in our room was stained and the bath over shower wasn't clean. We had no problems with noise but perhaps we didn't have noisy neighbours. We didn't find the bed overly comfortable. I'd be more okay with all of this if we'd paid less and were expecting less than a 4*. The location for this hotel is great, which is the main selling point I think. The staff were friendly but we only dealt with them at check in and check out. The rooms were warm (radiators) on all nights bar our first night, we were freezing so called reception who turned the heating on. Overall, a good stay for location but try and get a deal if you can
03/02/2025: First, the heater. It's winter and you have to call reception and beg them to turn on the heater in your room. Guests have no control over their own heater. And when they do turn it on, they only leave it on for 30 minutes. In addition, there was no room service as described in the advertisement and when we called to complain, they said the hotel was full, and they didn't offer any compensation for the inconvenience. Breakfast has a price if you book at check-in or on the day of breakfast, so it seems like they're pushing breakfast on us. IT'S NOT WORTH IT. VERY EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT IT OFFERS. The hotel claims to be 4 stars, but it seems like it has two! Horrible! Terrible atmosphere!

PJ Flaherty

Galway
02/12/2024: Amazing atmosphere! Cutest little beer garden area and fabulous staff! Jack, one of the bartenders couldn’t have been more helpful and kind when there for my sisters birthday.
29/11/2024: Guinness wasn’t bad but the gentleman service wasn’t the happiest and was rather rude. It felt very unwelcoming. The male toilet is completely mouldy, full of cobwebs and disgusting.

Northside Shopping Centre

Dublin
14/02/2025: It's a good one with essential shops.
13/02/2025: Very dated shopping center. Carpark is a nightmare. Two way traffic where it should be one direction.
