The best restaurants

21/10/2025: Oysters were absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back for more. The staff probably could not be more apathetic and disinterested if they tried. I came in through the back by accident and took a seat, not knowing orders must be made at the counter (some signs around the restaurant might help in this regard), I was sat there a good 10-15 min with no one providing any kind of assistance. I had to get the attention of a waitress who then informed me of the procedure to order at the counter. Every single person working there looked as lifeless as the oysters being served, I didn't see any staff member smile once. It just made the entire experience a little glum... The setting itself was nice and comfortable enough, but I felt like I was imposing by simply being a customer... I think some motivation is needed for the staff?

29/09/2025: We used to live in New Orleans, La. USA which is renowned for its oysters and I have to say that Sligo Oyster Experience has the best oysters we have ever had anywhere in the world! We had the raw, herb baked and cheese baked oysters. This is a MUST stop if you are anywhere near Sligo. PS, the vegetable soup is divine!

23/03/2026: We had our daughters 21st here and I have to say it was fantastic start to finish . Ray was an absolute gent and could not do enough for us . From helping to decorate pulling pints and DJ . Fantastic venue. Pints top class And the bar staff were on point all night. Thanks for everything

19/03/2026: Had the best night at Vermilion the food was amazing, service brilliant, 2 lovely guys looking after us , the place is spotless, had family with us from Manchester they were very impressed one said it was the best curry he ever dad highly recommended this restaurant 10 out of 10 for everything regards Liz Maher

28/11/2025: I got a burger and chips here. The food was pleasant and the staff very friendly. The Black Market was freezing cold but that is not the fault of the vendor.

07/06/2026: This place is gone terrible. Cans instead of dispenser drinks and getting charged the same amount for less drink. What a joke. Food is terrible. Chips were cold and half raw. Ice cream was pure melted. Burger was okayish the only edible thing I had. It's gone down hill in the last few months. Dunno what happened like

07/06/2026: This place has gone downhill. Used to be good but lately everything is just terrible. Food cold when you get it, flat drinks and slow service. They ran out of fountain coke and were giving out cans instead but still charging full price which is ridiculous. Paying for a large? Well, you're getting a small can instead all while paying full price for it. I dislike giving poor reviews but it had to be done in this case as it is an accurate representation of how this branch is being run. Hope things will change but it is unlikely.

26/09/2025: We loved to go to Dashi and it was our go-to takeaway in COVID times. I ordered for collection on a Thursday evening at 7pm, half of the sushi options were gone and the curry and udon noodle dishes (or at least parts thereof) were heated in a microwave, and it still took them 25 minutes to put the order together. The dishes lacked veggies and where mediocre at best, and I couldn't finish the seaweed salad. Very disappointed.

18/09/2025: Visited the place just for the first time, as I saw they have a lot of great reviews, and variety of options, but unfortunately were disappointed, as many of the ingredients weren’t just included. They show in the menu that the sushi has variety of ingredients, and a lot of interesting stuff like: asparagus, chive, chilli powder, and so, but unfortunately they just used instead of the asparagus the curcumber, and we had no chives or chilli powder, although we should have had😟 Also the trout sushi we had was half raw/and half cooked👀

04/06/2026: Staff very friendly made our stay memorable. Room clean and bathroom excellent. Food excellent and service 👌

31/05/2026: Stayed nine nights. The hotel and staff were amazing! Shout out to Colin! I wish I knew the other names of the staff. A small complaint was our room was not air conditioned. We came during a heat wave. Infact we had no rain our entire stay. They did bring us up 2 fans to help us sleep at night! Thank you Maldron for making my 60th dream vacation the best!

11/06/2026: Food was terribly bland. Got a spice bag which had literally no spice on it. Fish in tank by the door clearly not looked after properly and are in bad health. Most likely animal abuse, sad sight. Not nice to be looking at mistreated fish while having your dinner. Someone needs to do something about this. If you cant look after them properly, please rehome them with someone who will.

10/04/2026: If I could give minus at this stage for the staff I would. Second time in two weeks our takeaway was missing a main course. Rude lady on phone when rang back said our tough luck . Avoid fir takeaway at all costs.

17/04/2026: I bough fresh cod and was very disappointed by the lack of taste, I understand cod is not the most flavourful fish but the batter didn’t have even a pinch of salt, the whole thing just don’t taste anything. Please improve that fish, in the meantime I prefer to drive longer for other places around.

27/01/2026: Making phone calls is getting increasingly difficult, as many of the staff members cannot speak English, very polite staff just very difficult to understand

01/09/2025: We visited Bistro couple months ago ,some dishes were fine some were kinda soggy. Salads,chips,milkshakes are great in there but holy moly these wings turned me off.They were saturated in oil ,they were soft,I honestly expected them to be crispy but I suppose that's just my preference,was not happy for them .Anyways bistro now offers an Inidan cuisine that is just off the top good,fresh meat,lovely spice,hot dishes ,fresh rice just class.We have ordered indian couple times in last month and definitely reordering

06/01/2026: We were the only 2 customers on a Tuesday night in January. They waited for us, they served us and let us eat without rushing or wanting to get us out quickly (like it happened in other places). Food was amazing, we ordered 4/5 dishes each and everything was excellent! Very big portions, we couldn’t finish and we had to take away the excess, that was packed very kindly. Very delighted and will definitely go back! 😀

01/01/2026: The food is adapted to European tastes. Overall, it's good. I'd like to see more of India.

26/02/2026: I’m telling you now. If you’re in letterkenny, head straight to k2. You’ll not find a more atmospheric place, along with cheap pricing and brilliant food. Your man at the counter loves the craic and the prices actually cannot be beaten all over Ireland (being 100% genuine here). Will always be 5/5 for me anyway.

23/03/2026: Lovely food except for the veggie burger, which is completely tasteless and quite mushy, really wish they would find something better to replace it with. We would eat here a lot more if they did!
