20/01/2025: I saw the good reviews about this place so thought I’d try it, to be honest I found the fish & chips very average, yes they batter the fish as ordered but the fish was quite small and the batter was undercooked and soft (not crispy) chips were alright but if you’re putting yourself out there as better than the rest you need to be able to back it up!!!!

04/11/2024: Spent a lot of money here for a celebratory family overnight stay and evening meal and was disappointed with the experience. The rooms are nice, comfy, clean and spacious though not 5 star. The reception staff were great. The SPA is in the same state as a review from August 2023 stated, freezing pool, jacuzzi out of order, just not nice. I’m assuming no one reading this actually cares about the review seeing as nothing has improved in almost a year and a half. One petite brown haired lady serving food in the bar was lovely, other than that it is style over substance. The short dark haired man who took our order was passive aggressive, didn’t once address our 50 minute wait for our meal, never checked back on us and then proceeded to clear our plates and every single glass off our table while I was still eating. No one checked if we would like water, more drinks or dessert after spending approx €110 on 4 main courses? It was possibly the strangest, most uncomfortable meal I have had out in a restaurant. I do feel for the chefs who go to the effort of cooking a good meal when I say that. We will definitely not be returning to The Savoy.

30/10/2024: Had a lovely night away with the girls as part of a package with the hotel. We had afternoon tea, possibly the best we’ve ever had (so much choice) but unfortunately our spa treatment really let the whole experience down. The treatments varied a lot from very poor to ok. Some of the girls said theirs was ok but we all agreed that the facial wasn’t done properly. Makeup wasn’t even removed. There are no facilities at the spa which is a disappointment as well as there was nothing to do after or before the treatment other than sit in the waiting area. Bedrooms were lovely and spacious and the breakfast was excellent but I’d recommend going elsewhere for a treatment.

19/12/2024: I've been ordering here for several years and I've not been disappointed once. I also see this particular branch has recently won an award - it's well deserved. Shop is pristinely clean and the staff are friendly.

25/11/2024: Don’t ever order delivery from there. Last night I at 21:15 I ordered food from the app and by mistake I chose “Cash” payment instead of “Apple Pay”, and I called immediately to tell them to see if I can reorder and pay with Apple Pay (that’s the only payment I have available) and they told that they would send someone with a card machine. The food arrives and the delivery girl forgot to bring the card machine, so she gave me the food and told me that she would come back with one. I have waited for her for more than 40 minutes outside and no one showed up (keep in mind that it’s only 3 mins away). So after waiting for nearly an hour and a half, I fell asleep and an hour goes by and I wake up to loud knocking on the door at almost 0:00 (almost three hours after the order) and it was the delivery girl with the card machine. I tried paying but the machine is not contactless (something that I had informed when I immediately called after the order) and started harassing me verbally saying that either I go with her in the car to the restaurant and pay contactless or to wake up my housemates to pay for her. I kept telling her that the only solution in that moment was to send a bank transfer because I don’t have Revolut either. She wouldn’t want to leave and keep knocking loudly. And the worst thing, is that the food wasn’t good at all, and not worth all of this hassle. So if you want to have a nice dinner with no delivery girl showing up at almost 0:00 on a Sunday night harassing you for money, I wouldn’t order from Macaris.
