The best restaurants

06/01/2025: Very nice place and concept however we had booked and were first to arrive and asked if possible to sit where we could see the planes as we had 2 small children and were told all the tables were unavailable which was understandable and we were seated on the opposite side. We were abit disappointed but said we would book further in advance next time to secure one of those tables. Well they all remained empty for the duration of our stay and for this alone I wouldn't return.

29/12/2024: We recently celebrated a 40th birthday at this restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and prepared to a high standard. The staff were attentive, friendly, and efficient throughout the evening. The restaurant offered a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions.

25/12/2024: Went to the special evening hosted by Ross Lewis from chapter one and Avoca. The food by Ross was good but didn't have a wow factor for €95 a head. It was very good pub food, not mitchilin quality. Unfortunately the service and wine list let the evening down. The service was painfully slow and the wines were corked. No thought was put into the service, crockery, cutlery etc. I wouldn't attend another of these evenings at Avoca as I don't feel that they have the experience to host one with the level of service expected for the price charged.

11/01/2025: I passed by Waterford on my way to Cork and visited this restaurant. It was Christmas Eve and they were full but they kindly let me get a take away. The food was so delicious. The service was also very good and the place had a lovely atmosphere.

18/11/2024: Myself and my sisters had a wonderful curry in your fabulous restaurant, it was definitely a 10 out of 10,the girl Emma was so helpful and friendly, she's a huge asset to your restaurant, and Ian was also extremely friendly to us as well 😊 thank you very much for a wonderful experience in your restaurant 😊

24/07/2024: Nice pub. Good atmosphere. Service was pretty slow, but there was a birthday party so I'm willing to believe that was the reason. The problem for me was the lack of vegetarian options: the only vegetarian options were a plate of pesto pasta and 2 pizzas. As an Italian visiting Ireland, I'm not going to a "traditional Irish pub" to eat Italian food. I expected at least one slightly typical vegetarian option (even a burger would have made it tbh). My boyfriend's stew was excellent though. Fair prices for a fancy Irish pub. Big extra point for the desserts which were excellent.

04/02/2025: Really good food 😋 always fresh and def the best chicken balls I've ever had. Last sunday evening I rang in an order for home delivery at 4.45pm... at 6.10pm the food arrived cold. It cost 32.64 so I rang back the takeaway to explain and she was reluctant to replace my food and said it always cooked fresh and they were busy. I said I get that your busy but you surely don't expect me just to accept cold food. She agreed to send fresh hot food and said it could be half hour. I said ok I understand. 5 mins later she rings back saying she would not send fresh food that it would be the same issue again and it's always cooked fresh. She argued on the phone for 5 minutes and refused to send food. We have been good customer to golden spring for many years and this is how we were treated so sham on you now we won't return. What cost us 32.64 would of only cost you a few euros to prepare

02/02/2025: Ordered food from these many times. Unfortunately, after waiting 90mins, the food was cold. When we contacted the restaurant they refused to replace the cold food and suggested we "just heat it up". I understand they are busy but customer care is not priority here. Awful follow up service I'm sorry to say

15/01/2025: A lovely place to stop by and have a coffee. Staff are excellent and polite.

21/11/2024: Reasonably priced for the lunch menu. Also the selection of cakes is very good too to choose from.

05/11/2024: The cutest cafe! They are always quick and efficient and really friendly and the coffee is good. It's a lovely place, just very small and better for take away.

12/01/2025: Unfortunately we came the last day before closing. They only have limited options on the menu, so most of the things they didn’t have. We ordered a bread table wasn’t really good and then the plates were really oily, we barely couldn’t eat. Let’s see in the reopening.

23/12/2024: We were here for a pre panto lunch yesterday. The food was great but this review is about the wonderful staff and how they accommodated our party on a stressful day. We were more than an hour late for our booking due to one of our party members getting a puncture on the way. We were reassured that this was no issue and when we arrived, were seated promptly and served in plenty of time to get to the show. Our server organised a takeaway sandwich for my poor mam left organising her tyre replacement , and when my mam arrived the lovely front of house lady made her a cup of tea on the house. Lovely food, lovely people. Thank you so much!

24/09/2024: As a new resident to Bantry, I looked for a "Local". I found The Boston Bar not very welcoming to new locals, but I did observe that they welcomed visitors and tourists. I found the locals and the bar staff not to be chatty. They served a great pint, but no atmosphere. I am retired and I did not try the bar at night time. I won't be going back there again.

04/10/2024: I would not recommend this place. I never had korma that was white before, I guess they run out of turmeric? When asked to get orange juce I got served Fanta. Seriously?

15/09/2024: Lovely food. Closest to authentic food. We loved it!

13/10/2024: Irresponsible, paid a taxi, came for a sunday breakfast date, on google says open until 5pm, when we arrive, closed!

29/09/2024: You feel at home, everyone is always smiling, the food is distinguished. It's the best place to have a good time.

09/12/2024: They were not welcoming to people of colour, ignored us and kept talking like the food was free .Very poor service. We were having a Christmas dinner the dinning Hall was cold and silent like a grave yard, when we asked them to put on some music to make the place a little vibrant one of the staff agreed only for an all knowing man that look at us like aliens started making a fuss after one of us who lived near by went to bring some music. He started by saying the other people who were coming in an hour later would not like it. Then we asked him to get music from the hotel but he ignored us and we put on our music which was very low. if they deny this I have a video of this event. So sad they ruined our annual Christmas Dinner .only one girl was really friendly. And I gave her a very good tip for being human.

08/12/2024: I went to the ABBA night for a Christmas dinner and I called them beforehand to ask what time the dinner would start, but I had to wait over 1:30 hours for dinner to start and there wasn't even bread on the table while we were waiting. I stayed there from 19:15 till 22:30 and no ABBA song was playing. I understand that they wanted to wait until after dinner for the band to come, but having to wait for food and for the party to actually get started was a huge disappointment.

26/11/2024: The Small Latte Today in Insomnia Coffee Shop Ballsbridge Dublin4 is absolutely delicious and very creamy.

02/09/2024: The staff is always great... but you're coming for the coffee - right? We've been pleased every visit... great job!
