10/01/2026: Got a kids fish bites meal yesterday, and it was perfect. Chips were perfectly cooked and lovely flavour potato used and loads if them..I was not able to finish them. Fish gougons had the most amazing battery, crisp, and light, and not too tick.. Lovely friend staff. Amazing value at I think 8.95, that included a capri sun.kids fish bites meal wass more than enough for me.

14/12/2025: Well what can I say the food is excellent for a chipper. Freshly made chips properly cooked. Very tasty fish with super crispy batter and then topped off with delishious crispy bits, excellent. The only problem with this place is their so called wall of fame showing famous people visiting their shop. There near the top of it was the name and picture of a convicted rapist Conor McGregor. Do they not know they shouldn't associate themselves with a criminal. Not good advertising in my humble opinion.

13/10/2025: Definitely best pizza I've ever had. I got the skinny based Mexican pizza, it was delicious. This place is spotless and the staff are really friendly. Great prices and great service. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

17/09/2025: Called in at 7.30am for a coffee. The staff are so friendly even though it was so early.. the coffee was great 👍

21/07/2025: Nice Starbucks, but there is a smell of stale milk when you come in. Staff can be a little distracted and not notice you’re there and a bit slow. The toilets could do with a clean also.

30/11/2025: The food market section is usually solid, but everything else is seriously overpriced for the quality you get. The produce is regularly right on the edge of expiry, so you have to check everything carefully. For the prices they charge, the quality just isn’t there

31/12/2025: The family and team in Macari’s are amazing! I left Ratoath for Hong Kong seven years ago, and every time when I return I visit for a pizza and fresh cod. The service, the food and the banter are second to none, they really have a passion for making great food. Thanks Macari team, see you again next year! Gerald

26/01/2026: I have to say, I am very disappointed before I got food from There and was good about the Year ago tonight I collected food from there and I swear to God dog food taste better than that burger disgusting had Bite gave the rest to my dog. My dog didn’t finish it beef people stay away from it wasting money and time.

20/01/2026: It was a horrible experience over all the staff are rude and me and my friends were very disappointed as we normally love their food but the service was horrible they were dead quiet so they can’t even use the excuse of being busy and stressed but when I ordered my food me and a friend of mine asked for the food to be plain but when we received the food it was not plain and we simply just asked to get it plain as that’s what we asked for then the server rudely replied with saying we never asked for it plain then when we were receiving the food we were met with dirty looks and it was continuious through out our meal with having the staff members obviously give out to eachother about us even tho we asked for everything politely. I am very disappointed about this as I usually am quite fond of the food.

17/12/2025: The only reason I gave 1 star is because 0 stars was not an option. Ordered from just eat. I rang after an hour ten and it’s as if the man that answered had never seen my order. Still took another 20 minutes and all the food was stone cold. The man that delivered just handed me the food too and said “here”. Burgers were burnt, as were the buns. Kebab tray for €9 had 21 chips, yes I counted. It was bleak. Would never recommend this place.

04/12/2025: My experience at this café was really disappointing. I went through a very upsetting, unprofessional and unfair way, and the manager’s behavior was completely unacceptable! Instead of listening or trying to understand what happened, she raised her voice and treated us in a way that was both embarrassing and disrespectful in front of everyone. I’ve visited this place many times before, and some of the staff even recognize me, so I truly didn’t expect this kind of treatment. Seeing how the situation was handled today was honestly ruined the visit I won’t be coming back, and I don’t recommend visiting this place at all!

04/12/2025: Today we had a very upsetting experience at the café. My friend walked in while holding a drink from another coffee shop, and we honestly didn’t know it was against their policy. The moment the manager told us, we apologized and tried to explain that it was just a misunderstanding. My friend was ready to leave, and we were about to order from the café. However, the manager refused to listen and kept yelling at us, insisting that we leave the café. While we were trying to calmly discuss the situation, she didn’t want to understand or even hear our side. It felt like there was a form of discrimination towards me and my friends, which made the situation even worse. We asked to speak to the manager, and unfortunately, she turned out to be the same person who was shouting at us. She continued raising her voice in front of everyone, making the whole situation very embarrassing and uncomfortable. People in the café were staring, and it became a very humiliating moment for us. We would have appreciated a more professional and respectful approach, especially after we apologized and tried to correct the mistake immediately.

18/01/2026: Ninos chippers on main street portlaoise has to be the best chippers I've ever had. Great service and absolutely spotless clean and very pleasant staff , TOP CLASS.

13/11/2025: Went in to get a sparkling water to drink with my medication around 11am told the girl I was just charging my phone before I can pay her. She then demanded I pay before I get served a drink 🤣 .. any other bar or restaurant in the town you can order a drink and pay afterwards it’s not like it’s a rough area. Her excuse was shes never seen me before neither have I and lived in the town my whole life. Won’t be back for a long time understand it’s hard to get staff that aren’t rude. Maybe send her for one day at manors school 🏫 probably wouldn’t be enough. Also 2 other staff behind counter wouldnt but in to give me a drink or defend her or me. 3 staff behind a bar 1 man youd think he could get a drink of water nevermind a beer 😭 also said if you have no money i cant serve you basically defaming my character of course i have money i would never go into a bar without money.
