The best restaurants

30/06/2026: Absolutely do not bring your children here. Twice we were here as a family, the first time a person who I can only describe as looking like a zombie came out from the back of the kitchen and very rudely grunted, "put manners in those children" the second time this same lady approached from the back of the kitchen grunting under her breath again while looking at the children. The children were no louder than other kids. The other guys working here were very polite. The food wasn't bad, slightly better than ok, try to get chicken just as they open as the chicken will be freshly cooked then. overall, I would not recommend this restaurant especially if you have young children.

08/06/2026: Had a small mistake in the order and was very hangry so maybe a little over reacted hehe but the staff were so helpful. Special thank you to Aneta who had such a smile on her face and couldn’t be more apologetic. Really good interaction. Thank you guys x

17/10/2025: What a hidden gem! Kate and the staff were fantastic from the moment we arrived (past check-in time) to the moment we left. We, unfortunately, had no luggage as it was not put on our flight from Glasgow. Kate went out of her way to make us feel as comfortable as possible given the situation. We had to alter our original plans of hiking (due to lack of clothes/gear) and Kate spent a considerable amount of time giving us suggestions for an alternate plan. We took her recommendations and were able to enjoy many sights and delicious foods and a great ferry trip to our next destination. The breakfast at Wild Honey was Absolutely Divine!! One of the best breakfasts we had over our 13 day trip. Such a great experience and we will be returning! Thank you Kate!

14/08/2025: Literally the worst place on earth. They treat their staff like scum and keep insulting them and dragging them down. They are very unfriendly and inwould not recommend to even visit them

23/12/2025: Asked for a caramel iced frappe and they gave me an iced latte , I then kindly went up and told them they got my order wrong and a rude worker with Two braids in red/brown hair snapped in and wouldn’t even let me finish my sentence. Very rude staff and also left the kitchen unattended for several minutes at a time to take unnecessary breaks.

21/12/2025: Yesterday, my family and I went there, and it was a very bad experience. It was my first time experiencing something like this in Ireland. My son, who is 9 years old, was just roaming around the counter. There was no staff there at that time, and we were sitting nearby. Suddenly, a staff member came from inside and approached our table. She very aggressively accused my son of stealing something from the counter. We were shocked by her behaviour, as she blamed him without even checking the CCTV cameras. When we asked her to double-check the cameras, she later realised her mistake and apologised. This is the most ridiculous behaviour I have ever experienced at Starbucks.

03/05/2026: Probably a great place if you’re a regular but as a tourist I’ve never been wilfully ignored on two separate occasions looking for a drink. 3 bar staff on fussing over their regulars and ignored two separate requests for a drinks order. Left and went down the road Rackards, served straight away. Would give this place a miss, either they’ve bags of money and don’t need yours or are just ignorant to visiting trade.

21/02/2026: We recently dined here as vegetarians and had a mixed experience. The hot and sour soup was genuinely very nice — flavourful and served hot, which we appreciated. We ordered veg chow mein and vegetable satay for mains. The chow mein was average and the satay was okay at first. Unfortunately, while eating, I found a piece of chicken in my vegetable satay. When I pointed it out, the staff initially said it might be bamboo shoot, but I showed them that it was clearly chicken and they acknowledged it. They offered to replace the dish, which I appreciate, but at that point I had lost trust in the food, so we declined and asked for the bill. To be fair, the staff were polite and attentive at the start, but we were still charged full price despite the mistake. I understand errors happen, but for vegetarians this is a serious issue, not just a minor inconvenience. Overall: good soup, average mains, but a major concern for anyone ordering vegetarian food. I hope the kitchen improves separation and quality control.

15/04/2026: Sorry service and the atmosphere were as expected fine. But the main attraction about canteen food quality. Handy for four courts though.

The food arrived super fast and tasted incredibly fresh, not greasy or rushed at all. ​The staff was super friendly and handled a busy rush professionally. The food arrived really quick, not greasy or rushed at all. ​The staff is super friendly especially Johnny who was so helpful and made sure our food was ok, and handled a busy rush with total ease. On top of that, the place is spotlessly clean. ​ It’s rare to find a fast food place that nails the food, speed, and service all at once. Highly reccomend!

28/06/2026: Awful my god awful! Beef like bubblegum. As for the so called spicebox swerve this place.

21/03/2026: This was the second time we got food here and neither times the experience was great. Ordered takeaway. Got it in a timely manner as they were busy. The food on the other hand, not a vegetable in sight, dry rice, about 4 pieces of chicken in a adult portion with a litre of sauce. All the dishes taste the same, bland and no flavour to them. Spend over €60 on 2 adult meals, a kids meal and 2 nan breads (which were the only nice thing). Unfortunately it was a huge waste of money.

26/03/2026: I don't know what has happened to garden house. It was always the best Chinese in blanch. Michael always made sure every dish was perfect. I ordered a breast of chicken in black bean and the chicken had bones in it. The chicken in cashew nuts was boiled chewy chicken which smelled like fish and the cashew nut sauce was gloopy and bland, the only flavour was salt. Most of the salt and chili chips were small and containing no potato. What happened?!! I used to order from here like twice a week for about 15 years! My first order in a while and I was so disappointed. Such a shame. Giving an extra star in homage to the quality garden house once offered.

02/01/2026: Worst experience ever. Food was slow to come out. What you call a full irish I would not even call it a half. Toast was only hot bread. This was at Tesco Powerstown Clonmel.

12/09/2025: I used to like going to esquires…now I’m not too fussed these days. It all changed there when they changed their menu. They had the best sweet chilli chicken noodle salad and then for whatever reason stopped it and revamped the menu. I’m not inclined to order from there at all now. I do go in sometimes when a family member want a cuppa. That becomes another annoyance for me because any time I’ve asked for 2 teas, we get 1 pot. If I wanted 1 pot for two, I would have asked for it. This happened again to us yesterday but I was prevented from saying anything which I regret now. I did say something the first time it happened to me. I didn’t think I would have to be extremely exact in wording for what I’d want. Just a tip for esquires though, please ask the customer if they want 2 pots or one large if they’re ordering tea for 2. Some people might like their own pot for the price charged.

15/06/2026: Hi went to this cafe for lunch, asked for lasagne, started to eat my food, the taste was horrible, I tried it again still the same, I asked a girl at the checkout could I change it ass it wasn't nice, she said no problem, I went over to where the food was and said im going to have something else as I didn't like the lasagne, I was asked why did I not like it, I told the girl, her attitude was oh we have been serving lasagne for the past 10 years, I told her again I did not like it, that I would have bacon and cabbage instead, she walked away and never came back, very unprofessional, needs to be trained in how to deal with customers, I walked out after I got my refund, I told the girl at the till she apologised for her behaviour, I said thank you, not a good experience at all, extremely rude.

02/02/2026: I got few times food here and I never got disappointed. My favorite take away in Dunleer. The staff is very friendly. Shop in general is very clean.

11/11/2025: I was there on Saturday for dinner. I ordered the Japanese noodles. The food was cold and bland, the drinks were flat, there was dust and dirt everywhere. The staff were lovely and there was a Wonderful atmosphere but the food and drink was a let down.
