08/12/2025: Quality food at a good price, I recommend it.

06/12/2025: A pretty good chipper but they continuously close early which is very annoying if you are timing your visit. I won't be going here again.

16/11/2025: Ordered general tso’s and when I asked if I could order a side order of rice the woman taking my order responded “no”. I asked if the dish already comes with rice and she said yes. It wasn’t until I got home that I found no rice with my dish… 🙄

18/11/2025: When you dine in and you’re being made a coffee in a plastic cup. I said I’d prefer a glass when I’m sitting in. Ridiculous.

17/11/2025: Came in to have a matcha today, Muhammad and Manon were very polite and lovely to speak to. will definitely be coming back again

17/11/2025: A magnificent place. The staff is incredibly attentive to customers, offering a very friendly and considerate service. Furthermore, the menu is very comprehensive and includes options for those with allergies, and everything is absolutely delicious. Without a doubt, it's a highly recommended spot.

31/10/2025: Moved to swords this year and decided to try fingal cafe in the hopes of finding a good chipper in the area. Really disappointing that they do not freshly batter the fish. They have a drawer filled with essentially part cooked fish (likely frozen and defrosted as needed) that they then put into the fryer. Because of this the batter is crispy on the outside but is mushy closer to the fish. A very short sighted way of cost cutting. I was hoping this could have been a place for us to continuously return to over the years but unfortunately I will never be back as the food is not up to scratch. At 35 euro for 2 fish and chips with sauces you really should be trying to do better for your customers fingal cafe.

12/01/2026: Takeaway only. The food was tasty and delicious, although the service was a bit slow. Still, they prepare the food quickly, and it's not bad at all.

19/12/2025: Very tasty and quality food. Sometimes orders comes with mistake, but I think it is language barrier. Otherwise all super!

28/01/2026: Decent food. Staff do not pay attention to orders placed online. Expect a hefty wait if you order online and turn up expecting it ready.

16/11/2025: Me and my uncle were visiting from Belgium and were really looking forward to a nice chicken chow mein. We’re used to the European-style version — grilled, well-seasoned chicken with some soy flavour and crisp vegetables. Unfortunately, the chow mein we received here in Bantry was nothing like that. It was more like a wet, sloppy roast dinner, very soft and gooey, and after a few bites we just couldn’t eat it. I’m genuinely sorry to say it, but it was really disappointing.

04/01/2026: We went for lunch for 8 people before a game in the Aviva. Service was very poor, no consistency with waiting staff. We were served by a different waiter every time. Very slow to get drinks and food. It took over an hour for the kids to be served their food. Food was average but overpriced. Tempura prawn starter had 2 prawns for €22. Kids meal €18 for 2 courses!! We were the only table in the restaurant so I’m not sure why service and food was so slow. The hotel is beautiful. The setting is lovely. If service was better this could be a great place to dine.

19/10/2025: Truly awful experience today for lunch. We had been on many occasions before and were always wowed by the atmosphere food and service. A group of 6 of us arrived for lunch today and were seated next to a group of 50 people which appeared to be a christening. The noise was deafening, children running around screaming and staff were few, and very overwhelmed. The food was really poor, the accompanying salad with the prawn tempura lacked freshness, the steak was as tough as old boots with no marination, and the ice cream for dessert was similar to what you’d get at a children’s birthday party. I complained to management and they did discount the bill, a solid gesture but not what I was looking for! We were looking for a nice meal in a ‘small leading hotels of the world’ restaurant but it felt like a cross between McDonald’s and a roadside cafe. Management need to step up, this is APPALLING, and we will not be stepping in there ever again

13/10/2025: I have been getting Apache (Burgerhut Hollyhill) for a good few years. When the food is good, it's really enjoyable. But the food isn't always good (particularly the chips), and as a consequence, I feel the need, to write a review, in the hope, it will encourage Apache, to make some improvements. When ordering chips from Apache, staff will often serve you chips, that have been lying in the tray, for God only knows how long, mixed in with some freshly cooked chips.. Can I ask Apache management, why serve customers, old cooked chips, mixed in with fresh cooked chips..???? Its a very mean act, and I have to throw these chips in the bin, as they are hard & horrible. Why mix old, hard, precooked chips, that have been lying in the tray, with fresh cooked chips, and then serve them to a customer..?? Customers, should only be served, FRESHLY COOKED CHIPS..!! Can I ask Apache management, why you don't automatically serve your pizza's box's, in a paper bag..? If a customer orders a pizza, they may have to walk for 15 or 20 minutes, to get home. Carrying the pizza box, with no bag, means the Pizza, will lose a lot of heat, and the pizza can be cold, when the customer gets home. Also why don't you automatically serve the donor box, and chicken spice box, in a paper bag..? Again, these food boxes, are cold, by the time a customer walks home. Also the donor & chicken spice box, can leak sauce, which can destroy a car seat (if the customer is driving home) The stout, middle aged, short haired lady, that works in Apache, gets a bad pain, if a customer asks for a bag, to put a pizza box in, or donor/chicken spice box into.. Can I ask Apache management, to please supply, proper fitting, paper bags, and to offer them to customers, who are being served food, served in a box. Its really frustrating, having to continuously ask staff, for a proper fitting paper bag, to carry pizzas and spice boxes home in. I must say, most of the staff, are very obliging, when you ask them for a bag, with the exception, of the stout, middle aged, short haired lady, who always seems, to always have an issue, and an excuse, when a customer asks for a bag. If Apache, could introduce a policy, of not serving old, precooked chips to customers, and sort out the issue of supplying customers, with proper fitting, brown paper bags, to customers ordering food in boxes, (Particularly the issue, the stout, middle aged, short haired lady has, of placing food boxes into a paper bag) I will come back and give an up to date review.
