21/10/2025: Omg this place is unreal!! Such a good selection of icecream and sorbets to choose from. They make all the icecream handmade which I find really cool. Best icecream shop in Wicklow!!

19/10/2025: Wasn't impressed ice-cream was too sugary and very little flavour otherwise. 1x1 scoop cone and 1 x2 scoop cone was 12.50. I wouldn't have minded paying that if it was good quality but it wasn't

01/02/2026: A shopping centre like any other in a smaller town in Ireland. The number of shops isn’t impressive, but there were a few stores I actually cared about, which is why I travelled all the way from Sligo to Athlone specifically for them. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. Back in 2025, H&M was closed for renovation, and today I was shocked by how poor it looked. The children’s section is literally just a handful of items, with the age range ending at around 10 years old. The women’s section is also a joke — there’s nothing to choose from. Everything is the same cut, the same style, only differing in size and fabric. I left empty-handed. The second shop, Zara, has completely removed the children’s section. The women’s section isn’t much different from H&M’s — are we all supposed to have the same style now and wear the same wide-leg trousers and identical cuts? There’s simply nothing to choose from. I walked out of this store empty-handed as well. I know now there’s no point in going back to Athlone. I wasted half a day and came back with nothing. It looks like online shopping is all we’re left with — unfortunately, because I really don’t like it.

15/02/2026: We were staying nearby and the kind staff managed to find space for us with no reservation on a busy Valentines evening. The food was absolutely amazing, we got 3 courses and from start to finish it was beautiful. Prices are very reasonable, will definitely be returning on our next visit🤩

04/03/2026: I visited Darnley Lodge Hotel and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel is located in the historic center of Athboy and has a traditional Irish charm, combining history and comfort in a quiet and welcoming atmosphere. The building has great local historical importance, as it originally served as the office of the Darnley family, who played a significant role in the region since the 18th century. The restaurant caught my attention because the food was delicious, with a very homemade taste and satisfying portions. There is a variety of menu options for different times of the day, including vegetarian and vegan choices, as well as a friendly bar and lounge often visited by locals and guests. The location is also interesting for history lovers, as there are remains of Athboy’s medieval town walls nearby, dating back to the 14th century. I recommend it for anyone looking for a simple, comfortable place with the true atmosphere of the Irish countryside.

05/12/2025: Fabulous experience from start to finish!! Arrived to our table precisely at 6:30 for our dinner reservations…was greeted warmly by the staff. We studied the menu and ordered our dishes….Loved it all!! Shellfish Bisque…excellent Portmagee Crab Bake…yummy Sea. Bream……definitely expertly prepared!! Enjoyed all the staff, knowledgeable, friendly and full of life!! We shared a house made Lemon tart with ice cream and berry compote…2 Irish Coffees!! Highly Recommended!! Thanks Q&C staffers!!!

28/10/2025: We went for dinner and waited just a couple of minutes to get a table, but it was totally worth it. The food was delicious and you could really taste the quality in every dish. Prices were very fair, and the drinks were great value, especially for Ireland. Definitely a place we’ll come back to!

Food was nothing short of amazing; 3 course meal was so delicious. Layout and presentation of the venue was something so magical that we’ll never forget, we loved every second of it, and thank you to Insignia Nights and Empire for making our night one to remember❤️

01/01/2026: Such a lovely pub with the friendliest atmosphere. The staff were so welcoming, especially the man behind the bar who was absolutely brilliant. He served us really nice tea and coffee, and the sandwiches were so fresh and delicious. Everyone was chatty and kind, and the whole place felt so comfortable. We genuinely felt right at home from the moment we arrived. A really warm, friendly pub. Credit to everyone working there ⭐️

09/03/2026: Fabulous in house restaurant. Casual atmosphere with a great menu. We had a later dinner and enjoyed everything we ordered. The pie of the week was chicken and mushroom and was delicious! Highly recommend
