31/07/2026: The food we got delivered (to ranelagh) really left a lot to be desired... all the individual ingredients on the pizza felt off and the bruschetta was just unflavored...

24/07/2026: Friendly Staff and Nice Food. We had a number of dishes and they looked and tasted great. We had the outdoor table it was fresh and breezy evening. Would suggest having Branzino and Grapefruit Spitz.

01/07/2026: We were staying at the local marina in our motorhome and treated ourselves to breakfast here. The builders breakfast was excellent and included orange juice and tea! Friendly table service and we were not hurried. Highly recommended.

The food was absolutely delicious, and what impressed me the most was both the excellent quality and the generous quantity. Everything we ordered was top-notch and tasted perfect. The coffee is absolutely wonderful—rich, fresh, and you can really taste the quality. I also love that they have organic coffee, which makes it even better. On top of that, their customer service is consistently amazing. Every interaction has been friendly, helpful, and efficient, which makes the whole experience feel personal and reliable. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates great coffee and great service

We chose it as the venue for our Wedding & it truly exceeded every expectation! All of the staff went above & beyond to make our day perfect, especially Benny,Becky,Sarah,Alan, Bridget & Lee.Every detail was handled with professionalism,warmth & genuine care which allowed us to relax & enjoy every moment with our family & friends.The hotel & gardens for our ceremony were stunning, the food outstanding and the service was flawless from start to finish. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful the hotel was,how delicious the meal was & how welcoming everyone made them feel. We couldnt have asked for a more magical setting to celebrate our special day. A huge thank you to the entire team and Cait & James for making our Wedding Day so unforgettable. 15/06/2026: Our group of 17 friends, travelling from different counties, chose The Step House in Borris, Co. Carlow as our meeting point for a night away together, and what a fantastic choice it turned out to be. From the moment we arrived, everything was first-class. We enjoyed a light lunch in the bar before taking a fascinating guided tour of Borris House, located directly opposite the hotel. The tour lasted around two hours and provided a wonderful insight into the rich history of the area. Afterwards, we spent some time exploring the charming village before returning to the hotel to relax and prepare for the evening. Dinner in the main restaurant was booked for 7pm, and it exceeded all expectations. The menu was excellent, the food was beautifully presented, and every dish was cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive, friendly, and professional throughout, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Following dinner, we enjoyed a nightcap in the bar before retiring to our rooms. The accommodation was comfortable, spotless, and ensured a great night's sleep. Breakfast the following morning was equally impressive. Afterwards, we took a lovely walk through the village to the viaduct, enjoying the beautiful surroundings before returning to the hotel for tea, coffee, and a final catch-up. Before headinghome, we all agreed that this would not be our last visit. In fact, we are already planning a return trip later in the year for a festive Christmas getaway. The Step House offers exceptional hospitality, outstanding food, comfortable accommodation, and a wonderful location. We couldn't recommend it highly enough and are already looking forward to our next stay.

22/08/2026: Had the most wonderful afternoon in Bective Tearooms last Saturday. The food was amazing! I loved the original and funky decor of the rooms surrounded by stunning gardens. Highly recommended for a special lunch. The staff were a pleasure and couldn’t do enough for us. Loved it!🥰
