The best restaurants

14/03/2026: Ideal stop on the way to Cork. Food was lovely. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect as we were able to get straight back on the motorway after.

06/03/2026: Never stay in the rooms. But i aways stopped for food and great service.

04/09/2026: Had a ham dinner in there yesterday and I was very happy with same.Lots of food on the plate and I found the staff lovely and cheerful.The price was very reasonable into the bargain.I will be back !!!

02/09/2026: We had a quick coffee with pastries but the place had many options for brunch and meals and everything looks delicious.

10/09/2026: Unfortunately turned away at the door due to them being booked for the full evening (arrived at 630pm on a Thursday) including the bar which was completely empty. I wouldn't recommend based on the lack of service or attitude of the gentlemen behind the bar. It may be helpful for them to post their lack of availability on the door or that a reservation is required.

04/09/2026: Huge congratulations to Feargal, Fiona, Molly, Jack and all the team at The Fatted Calf on the move from Athlone to Grogans in Glasson. They’ve done an incredible job. The atmosphere is fantastic — great music, beautiful lighting and a really relaxed buzz. Service was exceptional: warm, knowledgeable and attentive. Most importantly, the food was absolutely outstanding, complemented by an excellent cocktail menu and a superb wine list. The Fatted Calf has always been special, and this feels like a brilliant new chapter. A fantastic addition to Glasson. Congratulations to everyone involved — we had a superb evening and will definitely be back! 👏🥂

07/08/2026: Very nice little cafe, good breakfast spot! They do eat in or take away, have a good variety, and the staff are extremely polite! They were accommodating to my brother bringing outside food and even provided us with cutlery and a bowl for him to use. Nice and quiet, a bit tucked away, and in the shade for a hot day!

29/07/2026: The chicken pesto sandwich was 10 out of 10. Even more enjoyable with the outdoor seating.

29/07/2026: Fabtastic local bakery with delicious freshly baked produce, especially their sponge cakes. 😍

16/05/2026: Always a large selection of beautiful buns and cakes, they also have scones and bread if you're in early enough. They do lovely birthday and special occasion cakes and also sell candles.

28/07/2026: We've just had a gorgeous experience at Strollers in teach de brock. Lovely welcome, great chat & drinks at the bar. Then dinner. Exquisite breads, Calamari, Ceasars Salad, followed by perfect steaks, massive crunchy onion rings, smashed potatoes. Leave room as you can't resist the dessert trolley. Great wine list too & all of this in gorgeous surroundings & the nicest, very efficient people serving us. Loved it!

14/07/2026: The service was exceptional. The food absolutely delicious. Ensure to leave a little capacity for the deserts, you must try the menu, it is special. 😋

06/09/2026: Kebabs are unreal tasty and so filling

05/08/2026: Hair cooked into the kebab bread, this is not the only hair we found. Disgusting shows the hygiene standards they uphold. I will personally be contacting trading standards and reporting this as a major flaw in hygiene. This is a major health code violation and beard/hair nets are clearly not being used. Will never be eating from here again

17/07/2026: One the best pubs you will ever visit, I was glad to call it my local for our year in Clon, alas we have now moved away, but I can't recommend it enough. A proper pub where you'll feel welcome.

20/08/2026: If you want some of the best sandwiches you have ever eaten pop into The Birdcage. I have tried them all numerous times and its still a hard choice everytime I go in. Great service and amazing food.

09/07/2026: Friendly staff and food is delicious, have had sweet treats and just today a gorgeous chicken and chorizo toastie, it was huge! Coffee there is lovely too
