12/09/2026: Staff more interested in talking to each other than seating customers. Food is mediocre

31/08/2026: Nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. Unfortunately, I didn't really like the vegan burger, but that's a matter of personal taste. The chicken, however, was very good.

01/09/2026: Thank you for incredible service and top notch food , little menu , but the food here is top quality 🥰😋 I had a seafood chowder with soda bread , so tasty , so delicious and my usual latte with locally baked bakery , the taste and freshenes here is another level 😳 thank you so much for warm welcome, this place is 5 stars 😋

14/09/2026: We were very happy with our meal here. Everyone enjoyed their food from grandmother down to toddler. The wine waa gorgeous. Staff are lovely and attentive. One of our party is on a restricted diet after a hospital visit and they were happy to accommodate. We will be back.

13/09/2026: Dined here on Friday 11th.September. Table of 4 adults. 2 different starters, 4 different mains , 1 desert and 2 coffee. Everyone agreed the food was of a very high standard. The staff were professional,polite,attentive and extremely friendly. Our table was a little tight being in the middle of the floor, with constant customers/staff squeezing by. This may have been due to the fact they had live music on and needed space for the performer. If not, may need to look at seating arrangement. Everyone agreed the price for the food and drinks was great value. Would we come again/recommend the bar/restaurant, most definitely yes. A very good night had by all

22/07/2026: Had a lovely fresh salad here today - Granny's Salad on the menu. It was delicious, fresh and perfectly prepared. The brown bread was excellent and the young girl at the till was very friendly, chatty and welcoming. Would definitely stop here again for grub on the way back from Inchadoney Beach. Outdoor seating area was great.

06/09/2026: Beware for allergies-incorrect menu allergies online! I rang to make sure my dish was free from nut allergies (had no indication of nuts per online website menu). I was told over phone that the dishes dont HAVE nuts but are cooked WITH nuts? This means they contain nuts but it is not stated on website. When i asked which main was not Prepared using any nuts, the worker informed me all dishes are made with nuts. This is a super safety hazard as it only indicates a few dishes containing nuts online. The menu needs to be updated. Sauces made using nuts means a dish contains nuts. Luckily i ran to ensure but if i ordered trusting their own menu, I would have had an allergic reaction.

27/07/2026: "The System is We like Over Price"!!! Bad value for money! Stealing from customers by over pricing and over charging customer's! Be careful what you order here! Their "System" is to over Charge you when you order a Irish Breakfast. I ordered a Irish Breakfast and asked what was in it before paying. My friend I was with ordered a Irish Breakfast and pointed out to me that the only thing different was a tomato that I got and he didn't. Then checking the receipt I realized I was over charged for a Full Breakfast which I didn't ask for anything extra or ask for any Full Breakfast just a Irish Breakfast and was over charged! I didn't say anything at the time of paying because I just thought it was inflation getting out of hand every day thing's is going up. But to my surprise this Cafe is Boosting Prices for what you order! When I complained the manager slipped up and admitted that their "System is to Over Price" is when You order a Irish Breakfast that they Charge You for a Full Irish Breakfast. Be careful!!! Ripoff Ireland is Back!

27/08/2026: …And then, randomly staying overnight in Castle Island, you end up in a pub where they treat you like one of them, not just a tourist. Tom was ADORABLE! He single-handedly served everyone in no time, giving everyone the attention they deserved (we were touched to see him even stop to bring a dog a bowl of water). Dear Tom, know that you were one of the most genuine and cordial moments of our holiday in Ireland. If everyone were like you, the world would be a better place.

16/08/2026: Away for a few days in Castleisland in Kerry. Dropped into McCarthy's for a pint. Great atmosphere everyone was friendly and welcoming. The decor was tastefully done and the staff were very friendly and the service was spot on. The pint of Guinness was perfect and we had a fantastic night, was so good we went again the following night 🥰. I will definitely get back again at some point I would highly recommend dropping in, well run, great service, great atmosphere and fantastic pint 🥰🥰

30/08/2026: What a great local cafe! Wasn’t sure when we first sat down as in the middle of shopping center. My toasted cajun chicken GF sang a was absolutely delicious as was my husbands toasted chicken sandwich, comes with really good side salad too. Loved it!

11/08/2026: Excellent meal at Moody Rooster Café with very good value for money. We received a very warm welcome and left happy and satisfied. Thank you to the whole team!

06/09/2026: The 10-inch pizza was okay... the can of tonic water was a joke though... just like the suggestion that seemed nice when the waitress asked us if we wanted garlic mayo... we thought it was just a friendly gesture, but when the bill came, we saw that she'd charged us €2 for it 🤡 And by the way, a Latin/reggaeton playlist in an Italian restaurant isn't very smart...

05/09/2026: Dropped in last minute last night for dinner here with my wife. It was late but they were happy to seat us. The food was absolutely delicious and the guy serving us was great. So much so, that I had to post a review. We don’t live very far so we will definitely be back.

13/08/2026: Wouldn't reccomend the spice bag it comes covered in salt no chilli or spice just salt and onions, total let down, should be called a salt box

13/08/2026: The breakfasts are fantastic! Everything is super good, the service is quick, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Since we've been in Cork, we've only been coming here for breakfast! You can sit inside or outside. Highly recommended.
