02/04/2026: Abysmal service - went in and ordered 2 sandwiches, after 45 minutes we noticed that the people who arrived after us were being served while we were still waiting. Went in and brought this up with the waitress who responded that it was on its way without actually checking. After highlighting that other people were getting their sandwiches after us, she actually went to check and saw that our docket was missing. I repeated out order and then 15m later our sandwiches came out, with two pastries as an apology which I thought was a nice gesture. However this was eclipsed by the fact that when I sat down to eat my lunch, one of the sandwiches was the wrong one. Would not return here again.

18/03/2026: We had the peri peri chicken and pulled pork sandwiches, and the chili bean bowl. All tasted really delicious. Ingredients were very fresh. Nothing artificial. Portions were very decent for the price too. Will definitely be back.

12/06/2026: The Club House was the perfect location for our short and sweet visit to Kilkenny in May 2026. We were in town for 2 nights, and the hotel is right in the center of the city, just 2 minutes walk from Kilkenny Castle and the start of the Medieval Mile. The huge onsite parking lot was very handy (and secure). Our room was beautiful and so comfortable. It was so worth it to include breakfast in the mornings as well, as the food served was plentiful and satisfying. We loved the Club House's character, on top of being clean and and elegant, all the decorations and design elements makes it feel like you've stepped into a moment in history in the best way. Staff were all so helpful and kind, and shout outs to the Bar staff on our arrival evening (the first night of our Ireland vacation), who gave us a warm welcome. One thing to be aware of is that there is no elevator, so I likely would not come back with family members who have mobility concerns if there was no availability on the first floor (from what we saw, this would be a very comfortable and safe option as all ground floor rooms face the hotel's secure parking lot, which was quiet for the duration of our stay).

02/06/2026: The oldest hotel in the village still in operation. We had a small double; well, small is what it was, but it was only for one night. The hotel has a lot of character, excellent service, and a great breakfast. Ample free parking and located in the center.

30/05/2026: Nice little hotel . Rooms were a good size for the price and the breakfast and menu options were very good . Its not the Ritz and makes no claim to be but if you are looking for a great value hotel that leaves you with more money in your pocket to explore the area you wont go wrong . Also the staff were lovely which is always a bonus !

16/02/2026: We recently had our wedding reception at Stephens Green Club, and from the moment we first viewed the venue and met Helen and Rita, we knew it was the perfect place for us. From day one, our experience was absolutely top class. Everything was handled with such professionalism and care — from the initial quotes and menu tasting to the table décor and every detail in between. Rita was incredible throughout the entire process. She guided us every step of the way, making what could have been a stressful experience feel easy and enjoyable. Her communication was always prompt, clear, and reassuring, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The venue itself is stunning, elegant, and full of character, and our guests are still talking about how beautiful it was and how amazing the food and service were. We are so grateful to Helen, Rita, and the entire team for making our wedding reception truly unforgettable. We couldn’t recommend Stephens Green Club more highly. Lorna and Edel

08/01/2026: I recently photographed a gorgeous wedding at The Stephen’s Green Club and I couldn’t have loved the experience more. The venue is elegant and full of character, right in the heart of the city, with beautiful rooms that photograph so well throughout the day. The staff are truly exceptional. I absolutely LOVE working with them. They were welcoming, attentive, calm and incredibly well organised, making the whole day feel effortless. Their care for the couple and for everyone involved really stood out and created such a relaxed, happy atmosphere. I would happily recommend The Stephen’s Green Club to couples looking for a classic Dublin venue with warmth and personality, and to fellow suppliers who value working with a brilliant team. An absolute joy from start to finish.

10/04/2026: Great down to earth reasonably priced menu. Plenty of choices for all tastes, and lighter bites too. Have visited twice in recent weeks & both very enjoyable. Fish & chips, roast turkey, beef stew & vol au vont & really good side portions of proper vegetables especially the turnip. We had crumble & cheesecake for dessert but weren't too keen on that, but that could just be a personal taste too. €65 for 2 mains, 2 desserts, 2 pints & 2 coffees today €65, hard to beat. Coffee was really good 👌Guinness looked good too.

30/12/2025: Visited Indian tiffin seeing the reviews... Expectations not met. Found the food average compared to the high prices. Idli set was worth the price. Didn't feel the authentic texture and fluffiness of bature, probably the wrong dough was used for the bature. The veg thali was average.

25/12/2025: We ordered a Lamb byriany and a butter chicken The food was so fresh and tasty 10 out of 10 absolute recommend literally the best Indian Restaurant I have ever been to my life

15/02/2026: Breakfast food ok 5 of us in total had fill Breakfast hit or miss eyes undercooked on 2 undercooked on 1 . Tea toast arrived 5 mins before hot breakfast so toast then cold mushrooms arrived with a spice mixed in then horrible and rubbery liked canned or frozen rashers obviously batch cooked and kept warm some were browned some not.Place was very cold in there jackets had to be left on.

09/05/2026: An absolutely fantastic authentic Irish pub away from the tourist traps, clean and real traditional decor. The service is either table or bar and they are super fast and efficient, the prices are reasonable compared to some. A proper locals pub but even as complete outsiders we were made to feel extremely welcome by everyone. !!!!!HOWEVER!!!!! Visited on a Friday night as it was kareoke night which in one sense was very good some cracking local singers, but its ran by two brothers who set up and then sing 7 or more songs between them first before getting anyone else up to do KAREOKE, there was four of us who all really wanted to sing as it was our only time visiting so we were the first to put our names down at around 8.45 so bearing in mind the pub doesn't close till half 12. After speaking with maybe 20 locals who all said its so nice to meet new people in the pub and hear them sing they were quite excited. 2 of our group sang midway through the night despite being first to put our names down, and every person they get up to sing sings two songs in a row. I was asked by the locals why I hadn't sang yet and I couldn't answer so a couple of them spoke to the two guys running it and they said "yeah we will get them on soon" So we sat and waited patiently and got drinks from the bar and then at 0045 the brothers call another man up to sing and then say "sorry we couldn't get everyone up tonight this guy will be the last singer" Disappointed, Deflated and disheartened were three words I'd use. But don't let this stop you visiting the pub its a great place just don't go with the intentions of hoping to do kareoke as you may end up like me waiting 3 and a half hours and not even get called up. I feel I'm being very fair dropping a star on this review.

03/05/2026: We were glad to get a last-minute reservation for a large group, and overall really liked the restaurant and menu. Some people in our group really enjoyed their meals. However, a couple of dishes, the prawn linguine and the halloumi linguine were unexpectedly very spicy. While chilli was listed in the ingredients, the level of heat wasn’t obvious from the description. When we mentioned it to staff, we had to ask for a white/Alfredo-style sauce to try and tone it down. It was brought, which we appreciated, but there was no apology or check-back. One person in our group ended up barely eating their meal, and no one asked about it, which was disappointing. It would help future diners if the spice level was made clearer on the menu, especially for dishes where it’s quite prominent.
