The best restaurants

06/04/2026: I had an amazing experience at V&J. The view was absolutely incredible and made the whole stay even more special. What really stood out were the little details — everything was thoughtfully arranged and added a unique touch that you don’t often find. The kindness and warm welcome from the cooples made a huge difference as well. They were attentive, friendly, and made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. 14/06/2025: This is a cracking place. I visited twice and tried a couple of different breakfasts. Generous portions, excellent cooking and attentive service. I'll be back the next time I'm passing through the town.

07/06/2025: The best restaurant in Kinnegad. Real Irish food and a family restaurant vibe. A place where you can meet the town and fill your belly. Portions usually are generous and I really love their version of the Irish stew. I hope they'll open the back patio again this summer.

26/09/2025: Sincere thanks to Staff for helping me when I missed a bus connection by a few seconds on Wednesday night last. I am an older person, using a walking stick, my phone was dead, and anyway I had no taxi numbers. It was late and it was dark. Staff were happy to call a taxi, they also offered the possibility of a lift as they had a delivery on my way home. I was delighted to accept a lift, I heard since that not all taxi's go out late.

05/07/2025: We were passing through Ballina. The kids wanted pizza and we chose Domino's. We waited 10 minutes and ate in the establishment. Neat and clean in the hall. The toilet is stellar. The pizza is very tasty! We will definitely come back to you again!

07/04/2026: A lovely little café, perfect for a lunch break. It was well worth the slight detour to enjoy the delicious treats (desserts, hot chocolates with cream and marshmallows 😍😋) and the friendly, welcoming service 🥰. A must-stop in Castelblayney on your way to the "Stairway to Heaven" hike!

12/10/2025: Beautiful Cafe with a lovely cosy interior and atmosphere,theres also a Charity Shop next door with some lovely items available and reasonably priced....both the Cafe and Charity Shop support Down Syndrome which is fantastic to support

29/12/2025: My absolute favorite cafe in Clane. I've been regular for the past year now and they've never disappointed. Their hash is second to none and sometimes I'm nearly disappointed ordering hash from anywhere else and I've tried many many cafe/brunch places. It's a bit dearer than most places but I believe it reflects the quality you get in the food. Yes, the place can get quite loud and it's very busy in the mornings but I don't think it ever gets so loud that I can't have a conversation. Staff are always lovely and you get a seat pretty much in no time even when it's busy. Would highly recommend it to anyone

20/12/2025: Good food with complex flavor combinations but it is pricey. The interior is decorated in a trendy chic way . VERY CUTE! It does get LOUD when the ship is full- a rug and something to partition the areas acoustics (wall hangings, plants, etc) would make this a much better experience! Some seating is up a little staircase and the seating on the ground floor is tightly packed (wouldn’t recommend this place for wheelchair / strollers / anything that could get hung up on corners). Bathroom is accessible but is located at the back of the building down a little corridor. Services was prompt, and the staff make sure you feel at home. The goat cheese salad was delicious and so were the pancakes but “American Style Pancakes” (as an American 🇺🇸) should be BIG like BIG BIG. Also it would be amazing to be able to add an egg to a burger or as a side dish throughout the day!

09/03/2026: Old world charm I had lunch there . Sunday afternoon busy staff were super friendly and service was fast and food was delicious.After words had a walk on the ground very scenic and relaxing play area for children.

06/03/2026: We had our wedding at Castle Oaks House Hotel and couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Trish and her team made the entire day run so smoothly and were incredibly accommodating from start to finish. Their calm professionalism meant we could truly relax and enjoy every moment. We’re still being told by our guests how lovely the food was, which says a lot about the quality and care the team put into the day. Castle Oaks is a fantastic venue if you’re looking for a relaxed, fun wedding atmosphere while still feeling really well looked after. We’d highly recommend it to any couple planning their special day.
