18/08/2026: I visited today as an international traveller because I’d heard great things about this place. Unfortunately, my Visa wouldn’t work with their payment system and they don’t accept cash. I completely understand the policy. What disappointed me was the attitude. I politely asked whether a manager or another staff member could suggest an alternative — I was even happy to pay cash without needing change — but the answer was simply “no”, without any attempt to help. Payment issues happen when travelling. A little flexibility and hospitality would have made a huge difference. I came with high expectations and left very disappointed. —————————————————— Thank you for your reply, but I don’t think you have understood my point. I fully understand that you are a cashless business. My point is that unexpected situations happen. I had a Visa card, but for whatever reason, it simply did not work with your machine at that moment. The only payment method I had available was cash. This is where hospitality matters. A manager is there not only for normal operations, but also to help deal with exceptional situations and find reasonable solutions. Instead, I was simply told “no”, with no attempt to ask a manager or explore another option. I have travelled to more than 40 countries and cities and have experienced similar card problems in Dublin, London, Paris and elsewhere. Other cafés have found simple solutions — often a manager helped with the payment and accepted my cash without giving change. The café made the sale, and I left happy. I am not asking you to abandon your cashless policy. I am asking whether, as a hospitality business, you could consider having a solution for the occasional customer whose card unexpectedly fails and who only has cash, rather than simply turning them away. Rules are necessary, but hospitality is also about how you respond when something falls outside the rules. That is the point I hoped you would understand.

22/08/2026: Collected 3 pizzas for a park dinner with my kids this evening, and none of them were sliced. Trying to eat unsliced pizza outdoors with children is a disaster. Tried calling to report it, but couldn't get through to anyone."

09/06/2026: This hotel is only facilitating weddings and events. If you are couples they don't want to know. We stayed on Friday and Saturday night. We were told because of a wedding Friday night we had to eat at 6:30pm in the bar. Fair enough we facilitated their request. Saturday we went in for lunch and were told we would be waiting at least an hour for lunch because of a 100 person funeral that were in. Needless to say we went into the village and had a lovely lunch and a few drinks. Lovely setting for a hotel but not very accommodating. Maybe just set yourself as an event destination rather than a couples hotel.

22/09/2026: Went For a night out here recently so didn't have a meal in Kavanaghs. The staff are very nice and helpful and kind. It's a well run bar, good atmosphere and sense of togetherness and spirit. Would highly recommend making a trip here to see the resident DJ for some boppin tunes and fun with friends. Drinks selection is also good and the crowd in the bar are all brilliant craic.

09/08/2026: Have been here a few times but the recently changed management and had a revamp of the Guinness lines and it's a game changer easily one of the best pints of Guinness in Dublin and defo the best on Manor Street. Really worth a visit.

15/07/2026: Tasty coffee and The flashing lights were really cool. There was a playful sense of fun in the decor and it was extremely large buttons that you should not press under any circumstances ever I like it. popular with the locals so they must be doing something right😉

19/06/2026: Beautifully restored historic landmark Bank property in key Dungarvan location….Elegant Cocktail Lounge and various dining facilities across ground and first floor levels….. Great food and drinks options. Excellent service from well trained professional staff. Peter deserves special recognition from our group for great service and dedication. This one is worth checking out for groups or any occasion.

17/09/2026: We arrived around 4:30 pm hoping to get something to eat. At the entrance, a member of staff told us that they were not serving food at the time, but that if we waited about 20 to 25 minutes, they would be able to prepare something for us. Since it was raining, we waited in the car. During that time, we even looked at the menu to decide what we could order. At around 5:00 pm, following their instructions, we went back in. There were several people inside, sitting and having drinks. We sat down at a table and waited to be served. After about ten minutes, nobody had come over, not even to acknowledge us or explain the situation. After having already waited earlier because we had been specifically told to come back later, this felt extremely disrespectful. In the end, we decided to leave, and because of the time, we were left without being able to have lunch. We fully understand that kitchens may not be serving food at certain times. What we do not understand is being asked to wait and return later, only to be completely ignored. Very poor experience, especially in terms of attention and communication

17/09/2026: The food at Fitz's was excellent. Everything is local and was delicious. The fish chowder, lamb, and burger were standouts. Would highly recommend if you are in Doolin!

01/09/2026: Great pub, comfortably furnished with friendly staff and fantastic live music. The band takes requests and interacts with the audience. Definitely recommended! We came for drinks and music and weren't disappointed.

31/08/2026: Always good music and cráic here! It's our go-to when we're in the Temple Bar area, and looking for music and a pint or dram.
