29/08/2025: We came here for some dinner on Thursday night. The girl at the front was very welcoming and gave us some menus while we waited (we were early). On the drinks menu it had their cocktails and then said underneath “Classics (just ask)” so I asked for a couple of different classics and they told me I could only order what’s on the menu 🤨 so I ended up just getting a soft drink. we ordered some food which was good, the corn ribs is a cool concept and the chicken tasted really good but the constant fruit flys in your face was really off putting and my partner ended up leaving his beer as there was flys in it. The staff were nice but no one checked on us once after we got our food and when we tried to get someone’s attention to ask for napkins as our food was messy they just walked past us. It was also a pretty cold day but they had the big door open for some reason so had to sit with my jacket on the entire time. Overall the venue is very aesthetic but the food and service was mid.

29/08/2025: We did have a good time but weren’t too impressed with the food to be honest. We ordered several dishes for the table and really enjoyed the chicken in soy garlic sauce and can also recommend the corn. However, the slow cooked short rib for 37 Euro was a disappointment and definitely overpriced. We are not rushing back although staff was super friendly and we enjoyed the vibe.

22/08/2025: Such an incredible night, we couldn’t have asked for anything more!! Staff were so accommodating and helpful from first planning all the way to the end of the night⭐️ Photos from the photographer came out stunning! Food was nothing short of amazing; 3 course meal was so delicious. Layout and presentation of the venue was something so magical that we’ll never forget, we loved every second of it, and thank you to Insignia Nights and Empire for making our night one to remember❤️

28/05/2026: Excellent food. Sushi, grill tuna delicious. Green curry, beef very flavoured. Nice and quaint.

25/05/2026: Update: went here again and had a slightly different experience. Food was delicious, good value, staff were nice bar one. We had the unfortunate to deal with a tall Irish member of staff who was disinterested and short on the phone, clearly unhappy. We asked to move seats. Were told no. Not at issue. But the Irish dude gave a rude face to his coworker as if we couldn't see. Very good food and value. Staff were polite. Only issue is that the inside is a tad small, and part was being used for takeaways, which is okay of course. But it means the seating area was a bit limited and towards the front. Fantastic time though. Would recommend

20/05/2026: I wouldn't recommend this place at all, hired a room out for my dad's 80th birthday, the DJ was very aggressive, wouldnt play anything we asked for, instead some awful music, he grabbed me by both of my arms, in a twmper obviously full of drink, complained to the Manager, nothing was done, my advice don't ever use their DJ or room

15/05/2026: The starter wasn't bad, I was looking forward to the main course, but I was terribly disappointed—the whole dish was oversalted!!!! Very disappointed! The restaurant's impression was ruined. The waiter tried to smooth things over, but the restaurant's star rating didn't match the dish. I didn't even want to order dessert. The wine list was quite good. a compliment I received for a ruined and hungry evening.

26/05/2026: The food was great, the service so so, but they tried their best. There just must have been a couple of new staff members. It had a South African twist and overall was tasty and a great experience. The surrounding location was obviously outstanding.

20/10/2025: Back to normal after Covid, like it never closed, great night out any day of the week, busy at the weekends, some live music to be heard at times too. Visiting Oldcastle, make sure to put it on your list.
