23/03/2026: Gorgeous place! We were looking for a place to eat in Letterkenny and this was the best. Cozy, efficient, staff so friendly, food was fabulous. Got the chowder, and it was absolutely delicious. Had to get a second one and share with my friend since it was soo good! Portions were great size too. Everything our table ordered was delicious, and staff paid attention to detail and always checked on us. Edel minded us so well, lovely lady. I would definitely recommend this place it over any other place in letterkenny!

06/04/2026: Had a fantastic stay - the place is all about relaxation. Room had a wonderful view over the lake. Food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Cannot recommend this place enough.

29/03/2026: We had the most incredible two-night stay at Carrig Country House and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the setting completely won us over — right on the lake with breathtaking views that make it so easy to unwind and switch off. The house itself is full of charm and character, with a warm, cosy atmosphere that feels truly special. Being invited for coffee and homemade cake with biscuits after checking in is a great touch. We were lucky enough to stay in the Presidential Suite, which made the experience even more memorable. The space, comfort, and stunning views were exceptional — it felt like a real treat and the perfect place to relax. What really sets Carrig apart, though, is the hospitality. The team are genuinely welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful, creating a stay that feels personal and effortless. The dining experience was a real highlight. Being welcomed into a cosy sitting room to relax and discuss the menu before being called through to dinner is such a charming, old-world touch — it made each evening feel special. The food itself was outstanding from start to finish, with top-quality ingredients and beautifully presented dishes. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with incredible food, beautiful surroundings, and truly warm hospitality, this place is a gem. Thank you to Claire, Kevin and the team for everything. We’ll definitely be back.

15/02/2026: Lovely steak meal. Called again six years later today, the meals were beautiful, fresh fish cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend it better then standard bar food. Will definitely call back.

02/06/2026: Awful experience. Went with my daughter for her first visit to an Ivy which she was so excited about but turned out to be the most embarrassing and awful experience due to extremely poor customer service. I have since written a formal complaint with absolutely no acknowledgement or response from customer relations. I would not recommend this restaurant and would go so far as to now not recommending any Ivy as if you have a genuine reason to complain you are not only publicly humiliated they choose to totally ignore which is totally shocking for a high end chain

01/06/2026: The Ivy is usually a good bet for consistency, but the Dublin branch was disappointing. Service was slow and although my meal was good, my husband’s was very poor. Even the choices of dessert was limited and the Tiramisu was mediocre .

26/06/2026: Wasn't able to buy a Whopper burger meal at the self service till and told to go to the counter where I was told it was cash only. I explained that the machine sent me over and I was told you can't buy a Whopper Burger meal from the self service machine... Went back got Nuggets meal. Didn't get my sauce and the Nuggets must have been sitting there all day and it was only 2pm...

06/02/2026: We had such a fantastic time here with the boys. The atmosphere and food were outstanding. Unfortunately my dog, Lisa 🐶, didn't win this time but better luck next time. If only her legs ran as fast as her mouth! Ha..Ha.. We had a great night out. Looking forward to coming back.

29/10/2025: I can’t comment as to the quality of the rooms as we only visited for breakfast. I was quite underwhelmed… premium prices for a very bland food offering. I felt rushed, despite the place being relatively empty perhaps best seen when the waitress ushered to clear our table whilst my wife was still eating. I shall not be coming back. Salthill Cottage is only a short drive away and offers better value, nicer surroundings, better food and nicer staff.

05/05/2026: Absolutely terrible customer service. The employee in the photo was extremely rude, disrespectful, and aggressive toward us. We simply asked for tissues, and instead of helping, he refused and told us to “order first” in a very hostile way. He also used abusive language and made the interaction feel racist and discriminatory. No customer should ever be treated this way over such a simple request. His attitude was completely unprofessional and unacceptable for someone working in customer service. This experience made us feel humiliated and unwelcome. Management seriously needs to address this behavior before more customers are treated the same way.
