The best restaurants

28/11/2025: We were on holiday and staying in Milltown for 3 nights and decided we wanted to go grab some food and drinks at a local pub. We stopped at Larkin's Pub and immediately we knew we were in the right place the owner Mike helped us immediately and was full of great information of places to see around the area. We also came back a couple nights later on Wednesdays they have traditional Irish music being played right in the bar. Was great to listen to had great drinks and the locals were fun to talk with. If you're in the area stop by and see Mike and the rest of his crew. Tell him the farmer from Oregon sent you.

25/10/2025: Lovely Pub. I was on the way from Tralee we stop for a quick bite, good pub grub! Toasted sandwich with chips & salad, fire was blazing needed on a cold October evening. The Guinness looked good. Friendly staff and customers.

28/08/2026: Can be a bit noisy... so pick your times... service great... wonderful salad sandwich

07/08/2026: A girl called Lilly served me, she was so lovely! The nicest girl, She makes the most delicious coffee & hot chocolate! Definitely be back, thank you so much!

17/06/2026: We absolutely loved our stay at Matty's Pub Apartments! The room was clean, very well equipped, and had everything we needed. ​What truly made our stay unforgettable, though, was the incredible hospitality. Matt and his wife were so welcoming—we ended up sharing brilliant conversations, a pint of Guinness, plenty of stories, and a lot of laughs together. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely return! Thank you both so much for having us; I will always cherish these memories. 🥹 ​If you are looking for a peaceful location not far from Kilkenny and Carlow, paired with a fantastic host and a genuinely friendly atmosphere, I recommend Matty's Pub 100%. 🍻🫶

05/09/2026: This café has been the source of some of my best memories in Tralee. The staff are always friendly and the food warms you from the inside. I had belgian waffles and my sister had a BLT and they were the best of both either of us had in a long time. The vanilla milkshake tasted like it was lovingly handmade. I would die for whoever made this milkshake.

18/08/2026: Nice little café. Porridge was great and the americano was really good too. Certainly reasonable prices. Nothing to complain about really except I asked the owner/manager to open one hour earlier the following day because I had a bus to catch. He declined.

25/08/2026: I was rushing to the bus station and spotted this fantastic cozy coffee shop. It was ONE minute before it's closure but a young lady made me cappuccino to go regardless! Top service, thank you! Things like these make people come back, very well done. Coffee was outstanding btw

30/06/2026: Very small but worth the find.. I love an Açai bowl.. and this one was beautiful. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I throughly enjoyed my treat

07/08/2026: The sweetest, most beautifully decorated (so many quirky bits to love!) cafe in Ballyconnell and surrounding areas. Had Lorraine's breakfast boxty and you'd get up in the middle of the night for a plate, delicious. Brought home scones that went down an absolute treat. Staff were so friendly, happy to be there and clearly knew their customers which is so lovely to see and hear the banter. Only negative was that we couldn't stay longer but look forward to visiting again very soon. Thanks so much to both Lorraine and her staff for creating such a beautiful environment to sit and take a bit of time for ourselves.

02/07/2026: Friendly service and a delicious rhubarb tart. The café is also completely step-free and even has a wheelchair-accessible - and very clean - toilet. A big thumbs-up for thinking about customers who need a little extra accessibility. It’s great to see inclusivity being taken seriously.

20/07/2026: Been my favourite fish and chip shop for over 20 years. Used to travel to it. But now live close by! Fresh cod and chips delicious and a very good range of different meals to choose from. Staff now seem very efficient. Fish frying is a professional task not just flinging fish into oil! Everything redecorated and upgraded! Well done.

09/09/2026: Every seat in the room has the same sweat stained head and seat cushions. Absolutely minging

17/08/2026: Stay away!! Was in screen 6 and my girlfriend sat down in her seat and it was damo and wet so i swapped with her just thinking it was just a spilled drink or something, so didnt wanna make a big deal out of it. Got home and my trousers were all damp come to realise it urine. No hygiene in that place at all. Stay away if you dont want to be stinking of urine.

22/09/2026: I usually go to swoon about once a week and it is usually delicious. For the second time running they had no oatilly vanilla ice cream, today I waited in the queue for 10 minutes to find out there was no vegan option available, even though the sign at the till said this was available. I would advise adding a sign to say this is not available instead of making people wait to find out. Additionally, I asked for "all about the Bueno" but received a soft serve with Bueno sauce only, no other ingredients. Very disappointed tbh

13/09/2026: Have I tasted better food in my lifetime? The honest answer is no. Let’s just start off with the cookie. Cooked to absolute perfection; gooey yet crisp. The sauces were to die for. No notes… Do yourself a favour and come here

29/06/2026: Called in as we drove past for lunch. Drinks and food were great. Got a hot chocolate and it was just divine. A nice place to call into if you are in the area. Will recommend.
