The best restaurants

26/05/2026: I got pretty bad mold exposure here while staying on the top floor of Ballynona. We stayed two nights, and the first was great - but it rained the next day and the following morning I woke up to a fully clogged nose and an irritated throat. I thought it was just seasonal allergies until looking back I realized it was mold. My symptoms dampened the rest of my Ireland trip unfortunately. The house is quite dated but pleasant otherwise, and the host was kind, just a little too political upfront.

30/06/2026: I don't normally put too many reviews up but I have to say, Opera is outstanding in every way. I love going in for a coffee and pastry, particularly the lemon meringue or the cream croissant but I have also taken some savory things home for a treat and they are always so tasty. I also have to say a shout out to all the lovely staff, they go above and beyond.

30/06/2026: I loved the cafe under the precook owners and love this new version also. Great variety tasty lunch food and great and tasty salad options. I see some people have had some negative experiences . That is a shame. I have had only had great food and great service .

24/02/2026: The steak was too salty and there was a lot a sand and big chunks of black peppers It was a total waste of money and time.the fries were soft and the fish was raw and not crispy.I had the worst fish and chips in the world and the worst experience

28/03/2026: Got a mixed kebab out of here last night and it was wonderful. Packed with meat, lovely sauce wrapped in fresh naan. Thanks for the recommendation @Brian Buckley

27/03/2026: My friend Alan Counihan went here tonight and said it was tops. His brother Shane lives in London but Spiceville is always his first stop when he gets home. These men know their fast food. I’ve never tried it myself but it’s on the list

22/02/2026: Food was nice but portions for takeaway are very small and quite high in price for the amount you get. Staff were also a little rude when we arrived to order takeaway, felt like they wanted us to go away cause the restaurant was busy, strange atmosphere.

21/04/2026: My partner and I had dinner here recently and really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. The food was very good although the rice portion was a bit too big and there should’ve been more meat but overall we really enjoyed the food. The naan bread seemed freshly made and it tasted amazing! Special thanks to our waitress who was very kind and helpful.

13/06/2026: First time here and was very happy with my experience food was lovely staff where very friendly especially val and her daughter great value for money compared to other food places in Cookstown I will be using vals for my lunch in future. And to gop of the friendly atmosphere val let me bring my e scooter in to the cafe so I could keep and eye on it

30/07/2025: Have had the pleasure of eating here twice over a few days. Brunch/Breakfast on a busy Saturday... pancakes excellent with bacon and maple syrup. And a kids portion of Nutella pancakes all went down a treat We had beetroot and avocado toast which was lovely could have eaten more. Was nearby for lunch on a second occasion and the food didn't disappoint. Burger and fries where tasty. Kids sliders and chips went down a treat. Missed out on dessert as it was closing time. Coffee was good. Both occasions staff where very nice and friendly service was quick. Will be back!

24/07/2025: Had the most amazing birthday breakfast for my wife at Doppio’s and couldn’t fault a single thing. The staff were warm, welcoming, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and special. We ordered the full Irish and the blueberry pancakes both were absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked, great quality ingredients, and full of flavour. The pancakes especially were a real hit fluffy, fresh, and packed with blueberries! I’ve also had lunch here in the past, and the steak sandwich still stands out as one of the best I’ve ever had served on a rustic baguette, packed with flavour, and cooked just right. Consistently great food, lovely atmosphere, and fantastic service. Highly recommend Doppio’s it’s a gem! 👏🍳🥩🫐

04/05/2026: A fantastic discovery! Our hotel highly recommended this restaurant. We really enjoyed Caleb's service. He's a charming young man who speaks excellent French. 13/08/2025: Can understand those outside of LGBTQ community chasing the pink Euro wasn’t expecting the same from a supposedly LGBTQ community centre. Cappuccino 4:85. Latte : 4:90. Challatte 5;50 . Silent Coffee ( whatever that is ). 5.00. Tea 3.60. The place is a rip off & they’re screwing their own people with extortion prices. The majority of the staff are on CE schemes meaning they only get paid 20 euro a week on top on their benefits. You can be guaranteed management ain’t on CE you can bet management are on top bucks .

21/01/2026: Great spot, there was a party on but the young crowd were very well behaved. Great pints and friendly staff. Good mix of clients young and old - great relaxed atmosphere.
