29/10/2025: Very icy staff constantly bickering at each other. Saw rats around back of shop with open door!!! If you have any self respect, avoid this over priced deli counter. There's a spar down the road that does a nicer munch for a quarter of the price

23/08/2025: I absolutely love calling into Mackey’s cafe every weekend. The food is always delish & served hot. Coffee is great & staff are friendly and always up for the chats! Perfect walking distance from the forest too

29/10/2025: Stopped here for food as we out abd about walking in the area , absolutely great place, friendly staff and customers, very very good pint of Guinness (and Im fussy when it comes to Guinness), we ordered 2x fish and chips, texan style burger meal and a roast type meal, all were cooked perfect, generous portions and extra chips brought to us at no cost. And the price is very reasonable too. Will definitely be back when next in the area.

16/06/2026: The Spa is amazing. Kerry (spa therapist) is fabulous. The lady in the Spa reception is so friendly.i will be back

11/06/2026: This was a lovely 3 night stay in May 2026. We were pampered with great rooms, spa facility, dining, and wonderful service. The surrounding grounds with rolling hillside, relics and graveyard were wonderful to explore after dinner. We had the good fortune to have Les from the Dining area spend time with us mapping out our travels with inside tips for Killarney and Dingle. He truly made a difference in our experience and will always be grateful to him. I highly recommend Aghadoe Heights Hotel & Spa!

27/03/2026: Despite the large number of customers, the staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating! The food and selection are, as always, good.

14/03/2026: As expected, food was quick, staff were welcoming.

23/04/2026: I go here once a week regularly. Good food, staff are kind and the food potion is generous. However, if we go around 7pm, they always start to clean and mopping. While we are eating, they mopping and the bleach smells disgusting and feel like eating bleach. They shouldn't do deep cleaning when customers are still eating. It is not very hygienic nor healthy. If they close at 7:30 sharp with deep cleaning, they should not get the customers till that time. Hope they can improve this then they deserve 5 starts.

13/04/2026: This place is great. Been coming here for years and there's a reason. The food is delicious. Small touches matter too, like the ginger scallion sauce which is not available everywhere.  Or soup with some noodles which used to be standard but many places have done away with. Its not fancy, but the portions are very decent and the food is honest. Hope they never change. Cannot ask for more. Bonus, you can get your cakes and buns here too. If I could come every week I'd be a happy bunny.

26/12/2025: I went in before closing time (apparently today 26th they close at 5:30 and it was before 5) and was told it was takeaway only, which was fine. However, when I asked the staff member at the pastries counter what the items were (the labels were missing), she repeatedly said she didn’t know, turned her back on me, and continued cleaning. I asked if there was anything with lemon. She said no, but when I pointed at a pastry I thought was lemon, she then said “it’s lemon” — without any apology or explanation. I ended up buying it because it looked nice, but honestly I wouldn’t have if it weren’t for her attitude. I work in customer service myself and understand how tiring busy or festive shifts can be, but basic politeness is still part of the job. The pastry looks okay. A bit overpriced for the size, 4.95€ but the service really needs improvement.

12/12/2025: Warm and food well priced, had lunch food was good. Only bad thing need to be more generous on the roast potatoes only had one on my plate.

09/06/2026: Cold, tasteless, Eatable but no reason to eat would rather eat buttered toast for more flavour

03/06/2026: Absolutely disgusting food. Ordered a 4-in-1, and the sauce is completely solid and congealed. The chicken is stringy, chewy and dry. The curry has barely any flavour in it and the entire experience is horrendous, I couldn’t finish my meal. This is also a large portion, I fear to see what a regular portion is like because it’s very stingy. Would not recommend to anyone, there’s far better out there and nearby.

22/05/2026: We had amazing fish and chips here - fantastic service too We were made to feel very welcome The fish was hake and it was so fresh Had a lovely half bottle of Sauvignon blanc with my friend and my husband said the Guinness was terrific too We were too full for desserts 🤣 Bet they are lovely too

06/11/2025: Had takeaway. The seating area seemed nice and clean, but wasn't in long enough to get a good feel for it. The food was good, but the order got messed up and we one dish was lost. Double checking the bag would've been a good idea.

04/09/2025: Best pottery in Ireland! We bought several pieces from here and they delivered to Canada. Great views of the ocean and countryside as well.

24/04/2026: Absolutely fantastic staff at Golden Aroma Chinese! The food was delicious as always, but what really stands out is the young lady taking the orders. She was incredibly friendly, patient, and professional. It’s rare to come across such genuinely warm customer service, and she handled everything with a smile even during a busy time. She’s a real credit to the place.
