The best restaurants

08/02/2025: I had my childs 1st communion here and also child birthday party and I have to admit it was well done and very nice, it's reasonably priced the you get the hotel experience and nice for the adults as well, nice food well presente.

07/02/2025: Went for food ordered salmon which was left heating somewhere had turned to soft mass but then smothered in hollandaise sauce , veg burnt. Two green curries also ordered had appearance of watery soup. The best thing we had were speculoos biscuits with coffee. A truly awful dining experience

01/02/2025: Food is nice but they refuse to do cocktails until 5 and then make excuses not to make them after 5. Only cater for the lads/ladies who like pints unfortunately.

30/01/2025: Big queue at the carvery,but moved fairly swiftly. €12 gorgeous a half portion,but I'm a fairly large guy and it was plenty.Very tight on parking,just parked across the road

16/12/2024: Dropped in here for Sunday Lunch whilst exploring Howth. This is not on the front so might be overlooked or missed by many - which would be a mistake. Lovely ambience, great choice of beers and food and the Shepherd’s Pie and the Steak & Guinness Pies were lovely. Staff were friendly and welcoming too. Would highly recommend as the prices were great value too.

13/12/2024: We attended a George Michael tribute show Sat 7th Dec in the Abbey Tavern Howth. Great Venue, Full of Forty somethings creating a really good atmosphere. The band played from 8.30 as advertised and finished at 10.30 . They were OK but kept the crowed dancing. A good night out. The main criticism I have is was why after charging €30 in, the house thought it was necessary to serve premium priced beer and wine in Plastic Glasses. A totally unnecessary policy that will only turn customers off returning for more. Venue owners are consistently moaning about what's happening to the night time economy. maybe its time they learned to respect their customers. Getting out of the venue brings you through the bar. There was a guy singing and playing the guitar. We decided to stay as it was still early. The best part of the night by far, He was like a human duke box with a easy laid back delivery. Absolutely brilliant, no cover charge and customers served their drinks in proper glasses. He made a good night, great.

14/07/2024: Been in different places across the country and I have to say no one can beat them... Really good taste and quality.

08/07/2024: Got a doner tray food was decent but the portion was tiny for the price. Very expensive

29/10/2024: Went here for a drink after the Kildare County Final. The place was hopping, great buzz in the place. Lovely atmosphere, great service, great pint.

05/01/2025: I visited The Spawell in December with my elderly aunt and daughter, we were looked after by a lovely woman named Mary, she ensured we had a suitable table and provided excellent table service. The food was lovely, and there was a lovely atmosphere with the christmas decorations. Extremely impressed and will definitely be returning!

01/01/2025: Teníamos el Carvery, el pavo y el jamón y verduras y patatas. El pavo no estaba fresco parecía rancio, sentado allí mucho tiempo, el jamón era bueno. Veg así. Los desiertos, también sentado allí mucho tiempo, no es agradable. No volvería de nuevo.

27/12/2024: Very disappointed given the reputation. Microwaved quiche was rubbery, the pastry tasted as though made with margarine and under salted...cakes were good, though rather heavy.

23/09/2024: Lovely Chinese food and reasonably priced, it’s also quite nice to sit in for a meal. The lady who I think owns it is always really friendly too.

20/01/2025: Came into the restaurant with my other half the starter was tasty we had the soup Well … the steak burger was horrendous burnt and full of salt true cheese was processed awful I took one small bite and called the waiter to say i couldn’t eat this also the chips were over cooked or just re heated they were rock hard tried to salt them the salt just bounced off As for dessert definitely not made on the premises !!! chocolate fudge cake it wasn’t ..shop bought obviously not impressed !!the waiter did take my main meal off the bill after complaining so I give them that, such a nice spot to have a restaurant the food was a let down and that’s putting it mildly I have never in my life had such a awful meal how they get away serving that is beyond me Sorry I won’t be returning

14/01/2025: Stopped here for lunch. The starters were okay, Steakburger had too much salt, tasted nothing but salty. I couldn't finish even half and told the server. She didn't take the feedback and tried to explain that cheeze is salty. I requested to take it away, the server did not offer alternative and did not take it off the bill. I left without eating after my wife finished her meal (which was okay hence two stars for food). The menu did not have prices for indivdual items, the server took away the menu before we could decide on desserts. In addition, the toilets were not maintained, one was out of toilet paper, other one had broken push button on soap bottle.

06/09/2024: Beautifull place with a beautifull upstairs cocktail bar. The cocktails are so elaborated and eith a very good quality of products. Lorea one of the bartenders made us a beautiful spicy margatitas and of course very welcome. We are gonna come back for sure! I recommended 100%!!!

26/01/2025: Lovely Eggs Benedict (in the afternoon.. imagine that?!) with a really good oat matcha latte.. nice spot for sitting out too.. not too noisy & sweet when it's sunny ☀️😎
