23/10/2025: Very good food nice atmosphere and live music

28/08/2025: The best bar in Sligo for Live Music and great atmosphere. Lots of funny and nice locals, great music, perfect pub atmosphere. We liked it a lot and would come back without any second thought.

15/11/2025: Expensive at €60+ pp no alcohol for lunch. Lovely atmosphere and great staff, but food is a bit "Kings New Clothes" with presentation not making up for poor flavour.

31/10/2025: We booked a party of eight...family occasion. First impression..excellent and spacious dining room Varied dishes ordered...fish beef etc..all were excellent..taste particularly and portion size. Friendly good humoured service..Very enjoyable experience ..will definitely visit again..

23/03/2026: Apologies for not putting more details initially. While the staff were excellent the restaurant itself is badly run down. The table was sticky, the decor was old and worn, there was a smell in the air that was not from the food. The stairs down to the toilet were unkempt and the handrail again sticky. When I reached the ladies. One toilet was blocked with an ungodly smell and there was a queue for the other and when I heard the woman in cubicle call out that there was no “bog” roll, I was out of there. Happy to leave the building as I just felt dirty afterwards. And as for atmosphere, sitting watching a security guard eye up everyone at the door is slightly off putting, nevermind sitting across the stairs to the smelly basement toilets. Staff are great. Clean up the place and invest some money into it!

25/09/2025: The food is really good and looks and tastes freshly made. I usually go for the chicken curry and the chicken is nice and tender and doesn’t have that stale and hard feel to it. The portion is very generous and the staff is really friendly. I’ve been eating at Lean Bean one a week for over a year and their food is consistently good and is relatively affordable and healthy. I definitely recommend it!

26/08/2025: The coffee from here has gone downhill. All you can taste is warm milk. You cannot taste the coffee at all. We got an iced mocha and it had loads of chocolate grains at the bottom. Also got a cappuccino and it was bad. Ive given this place a few chances recently but I can't anymore.

09/01/2026: Unprofessional and inappropriate behavior from staff. Staff yelling across the room and overall environment, not very pleasant.

24/10/2025: TOTALLY UNRELIABLE On August 10th, I booked Vaughans Pub/Accommodation (Clifden) through the Booking platform for €90, and the reservation was confirmed. On August 11th, the property sent me this message: "Hi, Sadly, due to an error, this room is not available on your chosen date. To avoid charges, we suggest you cancel this booking. Apologies for any inconvenience. Regards, Vaughans." Moral of the story: the day before leaving for Ireland, I was forced to cancel my reservation at this B&B on Booking (otherwise, adding insult to injury, I'd have to pay for it) and look for alternative accommodations, so as not to risk having to sleep in my car. I found accommodation (for €160), located in a different location and far from Clifden, which forced me to change my travel itinerary (a lot). When I complained about this inappropriate behavior and asked for a refund of at least the €70 difference, both Vaughans and Booking refused, or even bothered to respond. I contacted my lawyers, who told me that since the property is outside Italy, suing them for damages is a waste of time. Oh, I forgot: during my planned stay, the Connemara Pony Show was taking place in Clifden, so the town was full of tourists... Need I say more? I'm writing for the record.

07/11/2025: Tried out The Wandering Elk today and it was absolutely amazing 🫎☺️. I had a toasted sandwich with bacon and chicken that was bursting with flavour 😋. It came with a generous serving of nachos and dip on the side which was such a lovely surprise 🌮. The coffee was rich, smooth and perfect for the cool day ☕. The cookie was out of this world, soft and buttery with a gorgeous white chocolate drizzle 🍪🤍. The 2 lady staff members were so friendly and everything came out fresh, hot and full of flavour 😊. Overall The Wandering Elk is a fantastic spot for lunch or coffee and I’ll definitely be back soon ❤️.

27/08/2025: Pretty decent coffee, its either specialty or fresh, either way it is much better than many other places. The atmosphere is really chill, seating outdoors and also a nice makeshift shed for indoor seating, very clean and nice design. No rush on anything, perfect for lunch time coffee or catch up chat with friends or co workers. Only issue is I overheard one of the staff complaining to another about the food while I was ordering, now it wouldnt affect me but it needs to be mentioned as that can be off putting for some people who are looking to order the food! Train your staff to love their workplace and we will love it too.

15/05/2025: A nice spot to grab a coffee while out for a walk with my 1 year old son. Staff really friendly and food reasonably priced. I would highly recommend. Grab a coffees & treats then off for a walk in park..

02/03/2026: I have never experienced such bad customer service like I did from one of the managers. Beyond that the rooms were dirty, accommodation staff clearly need more experience. And also be careful not to even breathe inside or you will be threatened with extra charges for “damages”. Wouldn’t call it a 4 star…

21/01/2026: Awful chipper. Looks nice from the outside and thought that it would be good and its up there with the worst chippers I've been in. Chips awful pizza not cooked properly. Waited ages for it and you'd think it would be good. Shocking

17/09/2025: It’s called Cafe Mocha….yet the mocha i ordered wasn’t even drinkable. I gave it back for them to throw away. I would not recommend this place
