We had two vegetarian dishes which were exactly as described in the menu, especially the level of hotness was reliable. Very delicious, spicy and digestible (I usually have intolerances – but no problems here). Serving sizes are perfect. Prices are fair. We enjoyed the warm welcome and very friendly service of the hostess. Will come back anytime if in Dublin again and can only recommend this place!

04/03/2026: After a long day of walking along the cliffs of Moher, we decided to pop down to lahinch for a late lunch. Here we stumbled upon Danny Macs. Some of us to the daily special (fish chowder and buttered cod.) while the rest had standard menu options. Overall we where quiet surprised by the quality of the ingredients which was pristine, with the Guinness being quite goof as well. All the fish and meat was of high quality. With ribs that came straight off the bone. Everything severed with generous portions. One place which wasn’t as good was the Chips, which where a little undercooked and lacked that needed crunch. As well as one of us would have preferred more seasoning in the burger and for it to be less simple. Also a little too much salad with each dish.

Service is odd: they had hard time understanding how we wanted the dishes to come out, not sure why, our request wasn't complicated (starters to be set with mains). But they are overall kind.

19/11/2025: I had a great experience at Jay Kays Café. The food was excellent—everything I tried was delicious, from the French toast and avocado toast to the eggs Benedict with pulled beef sandwich. The hot chocolate was also wonderful and comforting. The only thing that didn’t quite suit my taste was the Irish coffee, which was a bit too strong for me, but that comes down to personal preference more than anything else. The café has a lovely ambience as well, making it a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and would happily return to try more from their menu.

16/04/2026: Our dining experience was ok till it came to paying - we were charged an extra 10% fee that wasn't disclosed anywhere on the menu. That's a sneaky way how to get money out of customers without their consent/knowledge and I wouldn't return there, neither would I recommend it to anyone.

14/04/2026: We followed the reviews and we weren't disappointed. The service was quick, pleasant, and friendly. There was a sea view. We waited 10 minutes because they're popular, but it was worth it. The products were incredibly fresh.

The kids’ menu had lots of great options, which was a big plus. The mini burger was a little on the dry side and one dish was slightly overcooked, but nothing major—everyone was hungry and still enjoyed their meals. Overall, a pleasant experience and we had a nice time 😊
