05/04/2026: Just had such a pleasant stay here over easter weekend! The staff was so friendly and helped us to our room as soon as we arrived. The room was clean and calm (4 person female dorm). The pub was super cute and cozy with live music and a fire place and the communal kitchen was also clean and nice to use. Breakfast was also very nice with gluten free and vegan options. The only bummer was that the hostel is located in a super remote area and the restaurant wasn’t open so getting food was a little difficult since we only had bikes. If you had a car though you’d be totally fine and it was beautiful! The rooms also got a little chilly in the morning.

23/03/2026: Fancy a peaceful stay in a historical home with modern amenities? This is the place for you! My brother and I had the pleasure of staying here on our last evening of a week long road trip before heading back to Dublin. From the minute we entered we were met with warmth from both the fireplace and the reception staff. We received a quick tour of the home and not only were we pleased with the second fireplace in the lounge area but were additionally ecstatic at the pub found in the rear of the house with a pool table and spacious outdoor seating area. Our room was gorgeous and beds super comfortable. Finally, the continental breakfast the next morning was a perfect start to our day. The staff here are very personable and keen to help you during your stay, I was very appreciative of their warm welcome to achill island and their food recommendations for the area. Thank you Valley House team for such a wonderful and memorable stay! I hope to return again someday!

22/04/2026: Fantastic place to stop and break a long journey. Plenty of parking. Large selection of food choices and plenty of seating. Toilet facilities are spotless and cleaned constantly. Cannot fault the service provided. We had the carvery and the portions were very generous and the food fresh and tasty. 10/10

07/04/2026: I like the outside area when the sun is shining, but if you don't own a yacht, stay away. If you're posh its a Pinot Grigot and pink gin and slimline tonic all the way. Oh , And 7eur a pint , can't imagine what the pink gin cost.

05/05/2026: Walked in for dinner. Had the Cauliflower & Blue Cheese Soup (delicious. The blend of flavor was on point. You can barely taste the blue cheese) as a starter. Then we ordered the Chef’s Mejadra (an arabic inspired cuisine) and the Mild Goan Chicken Curry. Both were very tasty and plated wonderfully well. There’s no meat in the Mejadra dish, only rice with lentils and what tasted like Halloumi Cheese and a few broccoli, and the Curry is not spicy at all. Kudos to the chef(s)! The service was good as well. From the gentleman that met us at the door to the ones at the bar. Terribly, terribly wonderful and friendly people. Will definitely come back.

04/05/2026: Really tasty seafood chowder, and good vegetarian lunch option of Goats cheese parpadelle, was tasty but could have done with a bit more of that Goats cheese. Brown bread ice cream was delicious, and service was exceptional.

07/11/2025: We popped in after the Rock of Cashel for a coffee and we were met with the most incredible, kind hospitality. Further, they gave us some brilliant recommendations for our onward journey. Highly highly highly recommend 5/5

31/10/2025: It's a very nice place, with an amazingly good atmosphere. The price-value ratio is also excellent, but what made it truly memorable was the friendly service.

20/04/2026: Great atmosphere (including singing from Mick Galwey), great food, great service, and great music. We also enjoyed camping in the large lot. It was interesting visiting from Colorado, and getting served Coors - apparently it's a local favourite.

09/04/2026: We were staying up the road at the Old Irish Farmhouse and the owner recommended dinner here. We loved it. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was what you would expect from a rowdy Irish pub. Loved the cleats hanging off the ceiling in the bar. So much character in this establishment. Waitstaff and patrons were very, very nice and respectful. The food and drinks were delicious. No complaints!

12/04/2026: Pub Que is a well-known institution among locals and Trinity College students. The little man at Swenys' pharmacy recommended the Irish coffee at this pub, and it was very good. The man who greeted us was very friendly, and the atmosphere was truly Irish.

12/04/2026: We were only in Dublin 2 nights but ended up here both nights due to the proximity to our hotel, one night for drinks and the second night for dinner. The drink prices were good, the atmosphere was great and my Shepards pie was fantastic. I highly recommend Kennedy's pub.

14/04/2026: This has always been one of my favorite places, although I’ve noticed they’ve stopped serving it with potatoes and carrots like before. I personally think the original version was better and would help keep regular customers. Still, their beef ribs are really delicious 😊
