23/03/2025: The tacos are quite good for the price. The staff is friendly, and the order was quick.

20/03/2025: Helpful staff answered all my particular questions and made sure my food came out just as I expected, and it was incredibly delicious! My first taco from Ireland after moving here from Texas, and I was quite impressed. The decor is charming, the seating area is comfortable and a nice people-watching spot when the weather allows. I will be back!

05/04/2025: Service very good this is why 2 stars . Food terrible. Fish oily and bad quality (Inside slurry you can get cheaper and a way better in supemacs) chips skin on but terrible. Desert (cheese cake, like gelly no cheese taste. Crumble like recycled cartons ) for that quality food prices too high.

11/04/2025: Went in on a warm sunny day. Was promptly sat down. Ordered the seafood chowder and pork belly. Chowder was hot but very good. Pork belly was small but ok. Did not like the mashed potatoes. Not sure why so many more upscale restaurants feel the need to put shallots/green onions in their mashed potatoes, but I wish they'd stop. Other than that, was a nice place to eat that provided a nice respite from the heat and sun outside.

30/03/2025: 8a is a great restaurant. Consistently great. Today I turned up with 7 people for a Mothers Day lunch and I had made booking for the wrong day. They found us a table in what is probably one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants. We had super food and brilliant service. It's my favourite restaurant ❤️

11/04/2025: Exceptional hotel, right in the heart of Killarney. My recent stay at the Great Southern Killarney was a luxurious experience from start to finish. The hotel exudes elegance and sophistication, and it's clear that attention to detail is a top priority. The staff members were incredibly courteous and helpful. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with an upscale lobby and fireplace, warm smiles and a genuine willingness to assist with anything I needed. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and throughout my stay, the staff was always available to answer questions, provide recommendations, and ensure my comfort. Several staff members, including the manager Maria, went above and beyond to make me feel like a valued guest. The hotel's location is ideal. It's situated in the heart of Killarney and walkable to everything in town; including restaurants/pubs, shops, Killarney National Park, Ross Castle , and more. Other Pro's, depending on means of travel... include the train station across the street and, simple accessible parking on site. It's also a perfect "home base" to enjoy your Ring of Kerry experience. The food at the hotel was also exceptional. Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, and Brownes gave a high-end, but cozy whiskey bar vibe. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a luxurious and unforgettable experience in Killarney. The combination of great service, delicious food, a prime location, and thoughtful staff makes it a standout choice. I look forward to returning in the future.

08/04/2025: Absolutely in love with this hotel. First, the staff are fantastic. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Daria at the front desk who couldn’t have been more helpful. We wanted to make last minute plans and Sean, the concierge, gave us the best evening in Killarney we could have asked for! He immediately got us connected with a jaunting car ride and made us reservations at Cronin’s when we said we wanted to try Irish lamb. The facility is gorgeous and rooms were very comfortable. Coming from the US we tend to have a little trouble with the European style showers but these ones were foolproof. The buffet breakfast was spectacular. Lobby facilities were clean and comfortable too. We only stayed one night as part of a tour but can’t wait to come back.

13/04/2025: It's a nice bar, very traditional. It has food and they serve it to the table, my chicken wings were dry, I had the feeling that they had been made for a while. The club sandwich was okay, but nothing memorable. Those who attended us were very attentive.
