The best restaurants

27/09/2025: Wonderful cocktails, great music and ambience, and I cannot say enough good things about the people that work here. I celebrated my 30th birthday AND engagement here, and my fiancée and I were shown such incredible hospitality by everyone we interacted with. I wish I could remember our bartender’s name, he truly made the night special. It’s been a month since we returned from Ireland, and our night at Paladar is one of our favorite memories from the whole trip. Highly recommend spending your time and money here!

20/09/2025: The atmosphere was good but was pressurized to finish the dinner for the next customer. I understand the time limit on the table but since we sat down we were reminded on several occasions the time limit which made us feel unwelcome.

30/11/2025: Dubh is truly something special, every morning the staff & owners just seem genuinely so happy to see you, such a warm relaxing welcoming environment where, not only will they remember your usual order. But tempt you with the most tempting, mouthwatering pastries you’ll ever see. I feel this establishment is ahead of the game and is truly the beating heart of Newbridge.

23/11/2025: One of the best places for tea and food. Tea is served in a classic cast iron pot. Definitely try anything with their homemade pesto, it's the best!

05/12/2025: Came here after shopping at Kildare village. Food was great and well priced. Staff were sound, fire lighting, three giant screens (probably more) with the match on. Good group of people there for a Thursday all happy, you can tell this is an important spot to the community. Never really up that part of the country but will always stop if passing now! Thanks and fair play to the Inn

11/09/2025: Good place to eat if you fly into Shannon, it's about 2km from the airport, the food is quite varied and good, it's like a motorway service area buffet, you choose what you want and pay at the till, they don't serve alcohol and the price is quite reasonable

06/10/2025: Nice albeit small restaurant serving great tasty food. There appeared to be room for approximately 16 diners. Long (but not too long) and narrow with tables on one side. Situated under the DART bridge on the corner but we didn't hear or notice the train go overhead. Now and again we got car headlights beaming in as they rounded the corner but they weren't annoying. All in all a worthwhile venue if you like Asian food whether spicey and hot or not. We will be back but don't know when.

05/10/2025: Disappointing experience. We ordered four chicken dishes, and every single one was extremely overcooked and too dry to eat. We told the staff, but nothing was done about it. Still got charged full price even though the food wasn’t edible. Won’t be going back unfortunately!

04/11/2025: Fantastic store. Nice food, nice service, very friendly staff.

17/10/2025: Put an order for delivery, waited 1 hour and called Domino's, they said that the order didn't get put in the system and had to wait another hour, second time this is happening

04/09/2025: So many savory options! Best Italian I have had since going vegan. Got there, given an hr wait, went nexdoor til she called us over earlier than expected, and she waited a little extra while we finished our pints. Kind service staff. Loved the fresh ingredients. My pesto ravioli with sweet potatoes was fantastic. The linguine were perfectly al dente and we could see them being made. Saved room for dessert, the strawberry hill was delicious. All so perfectly balanced, really. Try the appetizers! We got the socca farinata. My Omni bf and I (vegan) thought this was some of the best food we've had. Cozy, romantic, welcoming, & affordable, too.

13/12/2025: We dine here reasonably regularly. Good food, generous portions and nice presentation. Friendly professional staff, many of whom have in place for several years which gives a very pleasing familiarity. This restaurant has been serving Athlone for almost 20 years and it’s about time I paid tribute to its consistent excellence

13/12/2025: We arrived (6persons) completely unprepared and without a booking. The floor manager greeted us so warmly and was able to accommodate us, despite being in under pressure in a full house of Christmas groups. Couldn't believe our luck, as it was our brothers birthday. Food was perfect and came out so fast. Great price and no fuss what so ever. They even surprised my brother with ice cream, a candle and sang him happy birthday, completely unexpected and so appreciated. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a wholesome and relaxed meal with lovely service. Will be going out of my way to go backsoon.... (I'll be sure to book ahead from now on)

21/09/2025: Great night, food was fantastic. Calamari for starters and the burger for mains. One if the nicest burgers I have had in a long time. Handmade and seasoned in house. Delicious. Staff excellent, very friendly and up for the banter. Highly recommend, we will be back

21/11/2025: Great place to go before or after spending some time on the Long Strand or doing the loop walk up to the High Cross. Lovely food, good service, busy popular spot! Great initiative by the owner to leave out buckets and pickers for people to pick rubbish from the beach and then rewards them with hot chocolates or coffees..

23/11/2025: All the care is clearly put into the place lookin like a designer vegan instagram coffee shop, but the service and coffee lacks. Was denied a dirty chai, even tho they sell chai lattes. For the price i paid, i was given a baby cappuccino and it tasted more like nuts than coffee. First time in years i poured a coffee down the sink. Ciarlantinis is only a minute up the road, much nicer folks, better prices and tastier coffee.

18/11/2025: The place has three floors, but it mainly operates as an art gallery. In my opinion, it should be takeout only since they don't have a restroom for customers. There's no comfortable space to sit and enjoy your coffee. They serve your drinks in paper cups, and the staff isn't very friendly. Or maybe it was just the day; I don't know. We found it expensive considering the regular coffee is actually quite small. It's quaint, but nothing more than that. The coffee I ordered was cold for my taste, although that's just my personal preference. I wouldn't go back.
