The best restaurants

19/03/2026: Visited Lakeside Manor today, lovely location and food was brilliant. Although the place is beautiful the staff lets this place down unfortunately. We had a lovely waiter at the start and then a woman continued the service for the rest of the evening. We asked for drinks, she could not have been any more rude and we felt uncomfortable from her responses. We were given no cutlery or basic condiments. When we asked for some, we were walked away from with no acknowledgement. As people who work in hospitality we thought this response was absurd and it put a damper to our evening. We will still return as it’s a lovely spot and the food is great, however this could be worked on for future reference.

10/06/2026: this gem of a place we continue to return to. Super location, staff, facilities... just all in all good all round. Cannot recommend highly enough.... and it was raining the last time we were there but still wonderful. The team are so warm and welcoming, just like the island.

10/06/2026: What a pleasant surprise this hotel was. Outstanding food (and I mean outstanding) beautifully stylish and comfortable bedroom (we had a sea view room). The helpfulness and friendliness , not to mention the competence, of all the staff was the best we have encountered in the last twelve months in three continents! Well done to all at the Doonmore hotel, to owners Andrew and Donna, what truly lovely genuine hosts you were. Wishing you all many more years of success.

18/12/2025: I had the Caesar Salad and it was amazing . I would highly recommend Torys Cafe . Great staff and atmosphere

10/06/2026: Went here for first time on Friday, came back the following week with my dad as it was sooo good. The lamb is just amazing and the service is 10/10. They are so kind and friendly. Defo will be back!

08/06/2026: Amazing food and excellent service! Have eaten here many times both for sit-in and takeaway and have never been disappointed. Service is top-notch, very attentive and they even gave us a delicious dessert for our anniversary which was a a nice surprise!

20/05/2026: This was hands down my favorite pub in Ireland. It is exactly as it sounds, a hole in the wall that barely fits 10 people. Michael is an extraordinary human who has done impressive things and is wonderful to speak with. His patrons break out in song with instruments he keeps on the walls for all to play. Don’t come here expecting fast service, come here expecting an experience that is unique and memorable.

05/06/2026: Update 2026 Still a great location, lovely window seat, excellent soup, and a superb platter for two. Highly recommended, and reservations are best! Great new building, blends in beautifully with the landscape. Very nice interior and super friendly service. The food was great except for the fish gratin; the sauce was overpowering, and you couldn't taste the fish or scampi at all.

10/04/2026: This is by far the best pint of Guinness in Killarney. You could not ask for a better pub than Jack C's. From the multi-generation owner/bartender to the local crowd that frequent it, you're in luck if you can find a spot at the bar to chat with the crowd before a trad session breaks out.

30/04/2026: I dont know what happened.We’ve eaten here 3 times since and its been really poor.We had hoped it was a one off but alas no.Friends have said the same…. Food was absolutely fab.Both of us had a different main and a different dessert.Couldnt fault any of it....I've has to edit this review.Wife said her dinner was one of the best she has ever had. Now with Covid they have being doing take away.I really recommend their fish pie. 2024…still fab

12/04/2026: The food was wonderful, really tasty and well presented. (the pork bite starter was a bit boring in comparison to all the other wonderful dishes, but well cooked and balanced). The atmosphere was great, we were close to the guitar player but the music wasn't intrusive at all, we enjoyed it. The staff were all friendly, efficient and had a good sense of humour. Love that they have a list of their staff members and suppliers in the menu. Great selection of local alcohol too.

24/05/2026: Googled a nice restaurant near Slane and this one came up describing a Mediterranean experience and to book tables online. We couldn't navigate the booking process but decided to try drop in and give it a try. Turned out it is a pizza takeaway with no seating

17/05/2026: Wonderful French restaurant. Excellent food and a very good wine list at absolutely reasonable prices. For a starter, we were treated to a surprise of four different small dishes—all delicious. The duck was amazing, and the steak was perfect. We had a wonderful evening. A must-visit in Galway. 14/06/2026: Food was delicious, however we were shoved beside a large table where I couldn't hear the person across from me. Possibly, due to the table felt ignored by waitstaff But the food was very good.

12/06/2026: Food was average. Ambience was nice but they made us sit at the back even though there were plenty space in the main dining room, just because we didn’t have a booking. I wouldn’t recommend going without a reservation. Pizza was just alright. The main pasta dish had chicken which was on the border of going bad.
