09/07/2026: The pancakes was really tasty, awesome! But if your weight is 75kg or you are a girl, just take one plate of pancakes for two. The portion is really big. I suggesting you this place 10/10

01/08/2026: The food is absolutely amazing would recommend this place for the special of Pancakes and Avacado Toast alongwith their smoothies and refreshers specific raspberry mint lemonade loved the service and the staff was too humble to adjust for seatings and food allergens really nice cafe would always love to come here 🫂❤️

20/07/2026: Was really looking forward to trying the pizzas (back of the restaurant) but unfortunately, after paying over 50 euro for 3 pizzas, we got home to find the bases disgustingly black and burnt. Wood fire pizzas are expected to have some charcoal dust from the oven but you couldn't dust this off. It was completely burnt from not being turned properly - that or the oven is just filthy. Cheese on top wasnt even melted, so burnt base and undercooked toppings. Something is really wrong. So expensive and even more disappointing.

03/08/2026: Having heard this cafe is ranked 32nd globally, we made sure to stop by during our brief time in Galway. It’s a cozy, bustling shop, but the queue moved quickly. While you cannot customize your coffee beans, their house roast is exceptional and delivers exactly as described; it worked beautifully in a flat white, offering a remarkably fruity, flavor forward cup. Because indoor seating is limited, we opted for takeaway, but if you are fortunate enough to secure a table, it’s a wonderful place to sit and enjoy your drink.

19/07/2026: Four oldies there for a Lions game, started to sing a Welsh rugby song and hot immediately banned by a silly local barman. Local people were apologising profusely to us for the lack of hospitality.

12/07/2026: Totally dog-friendly 🐾 The service here is great. The pub is located next to the Aviva Stadium, so it gets quite crowded during concerts. The place is also popular during football games, like yesterday when the UK played Norway at the World Cup.

16/07/2026: The best burguer in town! Juan the waiter was so friendly and also make sure I my búrguer was vegan, and gave us some sauces to try! Highly recommend and definitely coming back!

05/10/2025: Halal Steak with Argentine Meat! Absolutely incredible taste. Can accommodate up to 40 people. Great service. Parking can be challenging.

04/06/2026: Had a fabulous mid week lunch here, 2 adults and a toddler. The turkey and ham was delicious, huge portions and reasonably priced. Dining area or bar seating options. Very family friendly, with lovely staff who included the little one in conversation(unsure on a changing area for smaller children but was able to change nappy in the spacious bathroom stall) Would highly recommend to anyone looking a bite to eat!

01/08/2026: Seafood chowder was loved by my 5 year old who finished his bowl and tried to lick it clean. Nothing is over salted which I really appreciate. My other son had pizza and though it looked like your typical frozen pizza they must have added extra cheese bc it was so wonderfully cheesy. I had the soup of the day which is the vegetable soup and felt the price and quantity reflected a fair exchange. Most restaurants make the veg soup to salty to give it more flavor so I appreciate being able to taste the blend of vegetables. The cheeses garlic bread was small and would be a pass for us when we come back.

24/07/2026: Came here on Monday for the €12 pizza deal and had an amazing experience. Food was excellent and service was so friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend.

07/08/2026: We had a great meal at Chequer Lane. The fillet steak was one of the best I’ve had - cooked to perfection, with a delicious peppercorn sauce, sticky onions and chips. The chocolate mousse desert was a real highlight - incredible shards of dark chocolate flake with honeycomb crisp and a gorgeous mousse. Comfortable seating, excellent wine and the friendly and attentive service made this meal a real pleasure.

07/08/2026: I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend and we had some wine, which was genuinely very good. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the service. We found the staff to be quite judgmental and, at times, unnecessarily rude, which made us feel uncomfortable and took away from what could have been a really enjoyable experience. The wine was lovely, but unfortunately the service was not at the same standard. Hopefully this can improve, as the overall experience could have been much better.

27/06/2026: I tried to take my wife here for our anniversary. We were told at the door to wait for a table. Waited 20 minutes to then be told there was no tables available, even thought there was empty seats/ tables. Very disappointing, staff were a little snappy, they kept looking over at us waiting but no communication toward us.
