O'Dwyers
Waterville-spunkane
27/05/2026: Hopefully it's sunny in waterville when you arrive as its a beautiful place and looks stunning on a nice day. The villa is so welcoming, not just for your stay but for food and drink. The atmosphere 👌. Food is reasonably priced and is amazing. And make sure your there for the weekend as the band on a Saturday night was perfect
23/05/2026: Located well on the main drag. Excellent staff

07/07/2026: I loved it; the observatory is wonderful. The tour offered by the University is well worth it, as you learn about its history and get a good laugh. Ashley was lovely and it was her first time as our guide! A delight.

Mitchell's Cafe, menu
09/07/2026: This was a spur of the moment trip on our vacation, and it turned out to be the highlight. The camera does not do the area justice. It’s a majestic place that you have to see in person. The mountains are magnificent, paired with the beautiful castle, again the camera doesn’t begin to capture it.
09/07/2026: Amazing experience, would highly recommend a visit. We arrived for 10.15 on a Sunday and spent the day exploring, and attending the history talks to learn more about Kylemore. Had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant, walked to the walled garden, there is a shuttle bus, but we walked, had coffee and cake in the Tea Rooms.

East Village Coffee
Dublin
07/07/2026: Unfortunately this place has gotten more expensive where the food has taken a hit quality wise.
Disappointing
01/07/2026: Some of the best coffee and food in the Clondalkin-Lucan area. I especially love the sausage rolls and cortados, which have very recently been made a thing.

Ely Wine Bar
Dublin
19/07/2026: Ely was such a pleasant surprise! We visited as a group of five, shared a few starters (the cheese breads, croquetas elotes), and each ordered a different main course. I had the moqueca, which was absolutely incredible, and the steak tartare.
I was genuinely impressed. Every dish was packed with flavor and felt thoughtful and unique. Unfortunately, it’s all too common in Dublin to pay a lot for food that’s bland and forgettable, but that was definitely not the case here. Every element on the plate had a purpose, the sauces complemented the dishes perfectly, and you could really tell that care and attention went into every bite.
The service was also excellent. A big thank you to Murilo for taking great care of us, and to the Croatian waiter, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!
17/06/2026: We booked ELY wine bar for our friends Hen party. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Never an empty wine glass, always filled. The food was delicious and there were many options available to suit everyone. Would highly recommend coming here for an event.

Grove Road Cafe
Dublin
26/07/2026: These are our top eats in Dublin. Grove Road Cafe - for brunch (we went twice) situated right on the canal, breakfast with a view. Irish cafes have a smaller menu on weekdays but still served bangers.
Didn't hurt that it was opposite our hotel. Great spot if your in the Camden/Portobello area. Super attentive service, if they spilled your coffee even a little bit, came straight back with a new saucer. Poached eggs always popped, flat whites on point. Benny’s to die for (thats brunch talk for Eggs Benedict).
Weekends have a fuller menu including a Frenchie (French Toast) and a Brisket Benny. Weekdays the Poached eggs with pesto was class, and so were the pancakes. We got straight in during the week, and had a short wait on the Sunday
07/07/2026: The food was amazing and the staff are really friendly.

Etto
Dublin
07/07/2026: We chose Etto based on its outstanding reviews and beautiful photos of the food, expecting a memorable dining experience. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of our most disappointing meals in Ireland. The presentation and execution of the food simply didn’t match the reputation. I ordered the cavatelli, which was gummy and carelessly plated. My wife ordered the monkfish, but it was noticeably overcooked and rubbery. After sending it back, she was chose to trythe pork loin instead, but it was also overcooked and lacked tenderness. And although my wife only took two bites of the replacement dish, it still remained on the bill. We weren’t expecting a free meal, but we did expect better quality control and a more thoughtful resolution given the circumstances. We understand that every restaurant can have an off night, but based on our experience, the meal fell well short of the expectations set by the reviews and I would not recommend it
28/06/2026: The food was nothing short of exceptional - whoever put nduja on mussels should be able to retire from the proceedings of this idea.
The service was very attentive, super friendly, and informed about all the meals and wines...
The venue was described somewhere as quiet, calm and cosy - it was none of those things, which is hard to pull off positively, but they managed it:
a happy, noisy crowd having a perfect time with good hosts and perfect food: silence was not missed. neither was space.
we had a great meal and a very nice evening!
