The best restaurants

25/08/2026: Very nice cafe/pancake shop. Well known, parking a bit of a problem, although the parking lot is quite large. Outdoor seating is nice, lots of tables. Unfortunately 2 out of 3 pancakes were burnt in the middle.

15/08/2026: I would imagine that they call themselves “The pancake cottage”. I would rather eat sheep dung. Too butter for my sweet tooth.

09/07/2026: This was a spur of the moment trip on our vacation, and it turned out to be the highlight. The camera does not do the area justice. It’s a majestic place that you have to see in person. The mountains are magnificent, paired with the beautiful castle, again the camera doesn’t begin to capture it.

09/07/2026: Amazing experience, would highly recommend a visit. We arrived for 10.15 on a Sunday and spent the day exploring, and attending the history talks to learn more about Kylemore. Had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant, walked to the walled garden, there is a shuttle bus, but we walked, had coffee and cake in the Tea Rooms.

14/09/2026: This place is to die for, you must go. Service, vibe and food all 11/10. I got the raspberry scone with clotted butter and jam and a green tea. Great spot!!

12/09/2026: This place made my day! Not that it was bad to begin with but it was totally enhanced by going to the Blueberry Tea room! The vegetable soup and club sandwich were so comforting on a rainy Irish afternoon. Plus all of the staff were attentive to everyone. They were all busting their asses but did it with joy. If you are in Donegal go there! If there is a line wait in it. It is worth it!!

17/08/2026: I stop here every time I'm back in Ennis - the food is good, and the coffee is better. It's a great joy to have access to 3fe this far from Dublin!

05/09/2026: For the price you’re paying for this place it’s not worth it. Staff are nice and friendly but the food is definitely not worth the price they’re charging.

28/08/2026: Visited for some food yesterday - staff are so friendly. Best veggie burger I’ve had in years !! My mum loved her roast dinner. We were allowed to take our wee dog in too. Really nice atmosphere and chats in the bar.

23/09/2026: Very slow to bring out food and when it did arrive the order was incorrect and burger was cold. Very poor service

10/09/2026: I went to Bunsen with my four children, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. We had not even finished eating when the waiter brought us the bill, which made us feel rushed and unwelcome. Chips so bad I understand that restaurants can be busy, but I believe customers should be given enough time to finish their meal without being pressured to leave. After this experience, I will not be returning to Bunsen.

10/09/2026: The waiter was great. He was so friendly, and helpful. We had a mix of appetizers for our meal. The soups were great and the breads fine. Fish cakes, the best. The music was contemporary and well done. A guy and his acoustic guitar kept the audience engaged and the beer flowed. Highly recommend.

17/09/2026: Underwhelming experience overall. Devoid of any atmosphere; confusing menu; inattentive service; and lacklustre food. The 6-choice set menu we ordered was bland, and OMG, the "bread" - grey spongey stuff that felt and tasted like eating a loofah. There are more interesting, exciting, and tasty places to spend you money in Dublin.

21/08/2026: A very traditional, cozy, and rustic pub. The decor and countless photos on the walls tell a fascinating story. Many great live music evenings throughout the month (see the website for the schedule). During our visit, several guests joined in the music and sang along enthusiastically. A fantastic atmosphere. There's also a beer garden when the weather is nice!

03/08/2026: I don’t usually go into pubs to be lectured about contentious political issues happening 10,000km away… Our politicians are already doing a fantastic job of that! When I go into a pub, I usually just want to be served a drink. As a regular visitor to Clonakilty, for this reason alone, I will never return to De Barras. Also, the male staff here over the long weekend were absolutely tragic and a total let down. Seemed as though they were incapable of serving the male gender for some weird reason. One drink and done, never again 👋

18/08/2026: Absolutely adorable coffee shop right on the river. The coffee was excellent, I got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. The atmosphere inside was adorable. I got my coffee to go, but I’d love to go back and sit inside for a while.
