The best restaurants

01/12/2025: August 2025 On our bike tour, we were allowed to put up our tent for the night in the backgarden. Sean welcomed us, we had a great chat and we enjoyed a drink on the pub’s terrace overlooking the Shannon.

25/11/2025: I was lucky to be able to drink a beer in front of the fireplace. Then we moved to the beautiful restaurant room next door where we had delicious food overlooking the river. Finally, the owner gave us a tour of the old pub from 1775

15/11/2025: We went there for dinner on the 15th of November 2025 the service was very good and the food was a 100%.We will be back again.

04/11/2025: A Brilliant Find - Mister Magpie Coffee Mister Magpie Coffee is a gem in Dublin! We popped in for a quick coffee on our way to the market, and despite the busy atmosphere, the baristas worked quickly and efficiently, getting us our caffeine fix in no time. The coffee was absolutely delicious - well-balanced, rich, and expertly brewed. Highlights: - Exceptional Coffee: Delicious, well-balanced coffee that hit the spot - Quick Service: Busy but speedy baristas kept the line moving - Great Spot: Perfect stop for a pre-market caffeine boost Mister Magpie Coffee is, hands down, the best coffee shop in Dublin! Can't wait to return and savor another cup.

30/10/2025: The pancake was the most delicious one I’ve ever had! It was so soft — like biting into a cloud — and every piece was full of flavour. Honestly, what was that? OMG, I loved it! The staff were also incredibly friendly, and I felt completely at home 🥹

25/11/2025: Had to wait to be seated but it was fine. Food was great! Service was great!

24/11/2025: Visiting Ireland for the first time, and our tour guide recommended this pub to get some food and drinks. This place is older than the US Constitution! I had a delicious Irish Angus burger, with a homemade red ale called The King's Head Blood Red which had the slogan "This will keep its head, unlike a certain king!" The chips (fries) were not really seasoned, but the waitress gave salt, pepper, and ketchup beforehand. We were helped by Molly, who I thought was strikingly pretty (has nothing to do with the review, but fun to mention). In fact all the staff were easy on the eyes! If you want a drink, there is a proper bar area, but if you want to eat there is a bistro you will need to find the door to in the bar area.

23/09/2025: If you're not getting your chipper stuff from Macaris after a nice pint in Lee's, I don't know what yer doing. The best chipper run by the best folks. Everyone should use this place as a template going forward.

28/10/2025: One of the best meals I’ve had in Dublin! The ambiance is warm, cozy, and inviting, and the staff are incredibly polite and friendly. If you’re craving delicious Indian or Nepalese food, Thamel is definitely the place to go!

15/09/2025: This charming little restaurant was amazing. The baked brie and pil-pil shrimp were outstanding. The range of wines by the glass could benefit from expansion. Overall, it’s a great place with delicious food and very friendly staff.

25/11/2025: We had a lovely meal and drinks this evening. Ari couldn’t do more for us. Always checking in to see how we were getting on and if we needed more drinks/food. Lovely atmosphere and so cosy with all the Christmas decorations

05/12/2025: Really nice place. You get a seat right away. Service is good and fast. They also bring your food out fast. But there are 2 things holding them back from a better rating from me. The first is the notes for customers. At first is seems nice. It's like a "be nice or we won't serve you" which I can respect. I've run my own business and I know how abusive customers can be, and I can't even imagine how that would be in a bar. But the number of notes, absolutely everywhere. On several walls. Over the bar. Little ones tucked into the menu. I can't look anywhere in there without seeing them. After the first one or two, it changed from being nice to kind of harassing. I'm just trying to enjoy my meal. Why am I getting all these signs in my face everywhere? And still I could have gotten over it but for the food experience I had. Fish and chips. I ordered fish and chips. Maybe it's a cliche, but I grew up in a fishing town and I really love me some fish and chips. ive had a few hit and miss fish and chips around town. But this truly was the worst plate of fish and chips I have had in my life. The grease was disgusting. Pressing a finger on the batter made grease flow out in a waterfall. And the chips were worse. They were pale and undercooked. I don't think I've ever experienced that. The chips I couldn't eat at all. But I managed to eat the fish. I was not in a state for fighting with the kitchen to get a better meal because I was having some low blood sugar and came in with a serious need for some food immediately. I don't like to send food back, but if my brain hadn't been numb from a low blood sugar, I would have done it, and it would have been a first for me at anything other than a fast food place. I've eaten food here before and it was great. I don't know what happened this day or if their fish and chips is always like this. But I'm not spending that many euros to give them a second chance. That's for sure.

02/12/2025: Was honestly disappointed. Great venue and warm atmosphere. Came for Sunday and it wasn't as good as it looked. The plates were stone cold which turned me off straight away. The carrots were not fresh. The mash was terrible and the beef was chewy. The pint was ok but wasn't overly impressed with the service either. I hope it'll be better if I return. Pity

27/11/2025: Superb! The staff were incredibly welcoming. Although we were at a very high-standard golf course, it still felt wonderfully simple and warm. We felt pampered and very quickly at home. The course is enchanting; every tee shot on every hole is a new story. The views are incredible. I simply loved it! The pro shop is fantastic. Of course, the price might be a deterrent, but the experience and the enjoyment are absolute!

28/10/2025: We had a coach stop here for morning coffee ☕ while on our tour of The Ring Of Kerry. A nice large club house with helpful staff.

21/10/2025: Great pints and great atmosphere. Ended up there on a Monday night and the the jam session was fantastic. 8 guitars and a mandolin. Can't beat it.

08/09/2025: My boyfriend and I had a great time here on our last night in Ireland before returning to the States. We got there too late to eat but there was live music, lots of great beers and whiskies, gracious bartenders and a terrific atmosphere. We highly recommend and hope to go back again.
