The best restaurants

24/09/2026: We organised a team dinner at this venue, and it comfortably accommodated our large group. The service was excellent throughout the evening. While the food options were generally good, vegetarian choices were limited (it is a steakhouse after all). The pricing for a three course menu was reasonable.

23/09/2026: I have to say I heard mixed reviews about the food before going here, but I thought the food was excellent. We had steaks (Ribeye is amazing), prawns for a starter, and scallops for a main. The scallops were big and so tasty. Steak was amazing as well - I was so pleasantly surprised by the food. The only drawback was the service was very slow. It did get very busy in the evening, however I think they should have more wait staff if they can't keep up with the volume. From start to finish we were there for over 3 hours and waited a long time before each course - we had to track down the waiter and ask to for next course several times. That is the only drawback, food was really good and I'd go back again.

18/09/2026: Exceptionally fresh seafood, cooked to perfection - it only took one visit to understand the hype and the long queues on the opposite side of the road during the weekends. The service is quick and friendly. Everything is served tapas-style and cooked fresh to order. The interior is kept rather rustic and simple, space is very limited, so be prepared to sit quite narrowly. As there was no tap water available due to water pressure issues, they gave us a bottle of water free of charge, which I thought was a good solution. Also loved the option to participate in building the collection of banknotes on the walls — by donating a note, you are entered into a monthly draw for an Octopussy T-shirt. Our choice: Carlingford Oysters - 3,25 EUR per oyster Gambas Picantes, cooked in chilli, ginger & garlic butter - 14 EUR Organic Irish rope mussels cooked in a white wine sauce with garlic, shallots and cream - 16 EUR Hummus with a caramelised red onion marmalade - 12 EUR Some Pinot Grigio to pair it with (only wines available, no beers or ciders) Check for two: 70 EUR with tips Overall verdict: 10/10

17/09/2026: We came because of the many positive reviews. And left with smiles on our faces 😁 A delicious meal served in record time… the taste of the teriyaki salmon will remain etched in my memory, as will the seafood soup 🌊 If you are looking for a quick and delicious meal, all you have to do is walk through the door of this small but superb restaurant.

08/08/2026: OMG! We went to this pub this evening and had such a great experience. I ordered a fish, my wife had pasta, and we shared a bottle of wine. After dinner, we each ordered a different cocktail, I had a Whiskey Sour and she had a Cosmopolitan. Honestly, they were some of the BEST cocktails we’ve had in Ireland! Our waiter Ana was soo incredible. Later, we met the bartender, Leo, who was such a great guy and has one of the most distinctive moustaches we’ve ever seen! 😂 Even though the place was really busy, he treated us incredibly well and made the experience even better. Definitely recommend this place, and we’ll absolutely be coming back!

10/09/2026: After a long journey to Ireland, this was our first stop, and we were so thrilled to find delicious food, great and friendly service, and above all, that unique, authentic Irish atmosphere at Half Barrel. If it weren't so far away, we would definitely be regulars :-)

05/09/2026: Very friendly local pub serving excellent food. Staff were more than willing to adapt the menu to accommodate dietary needs. Absolutely no problem and all with a big smile and superb service. Great recommendation from our Airbnb host nearby.

15/06/2026: Excellent service, beautifully prepared seafood dishes, and great value for the quality. We had a fantastic meal at Whitford House Restaurant. The service was genuinely excellent — friendly, attentive, and perfectly paced, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. The food was the real highlight. The Forthside chunky seafood chowder was rich, hearty, and full of flavour, easily one of the best we’ve had. The mushrooms were beautifully cooked, and the monkfish and king prawns on a bed of mash was a standout dish — generous portions, perfectly balanced flavours, and cooked with real skill. The baked haddock with a parmesan crust was another winner, crisp on top and tender underneath. With great service, delicious food, and very reasonable prices for the quality, Whitford House Restaurant is absolutely worth a visit.

21/05/2026: Dined out here, could not believe how they managed to fit us in, as it was really busy, but they had a table,and we were well looked after us, we ate in the Bistro bar, food was exceptional, service was excellent, and we had wine and beer, with our meal, we plan on going back before we leave Wexford.👌

23/07/2026: Hands down the best place in the borough for a gelato 🍨. Boris’ is a true gentleman and it’s clear from the quality of his product and the service that he offers that he’s very passionate about what he does! Thanks as always.

20/07/2026: Boris has a lovely shop, and serves beautiful ice cream, and has always made me feel very welcome.

09/08/2026: Used to love Camile as I was able to get the chicken fried rice Gluten Free, but they have stopped offering that option and so am no longer able to order it and my family never order anymore either for fear of disappointing me. It was my go to takeaway and now I'm so disappointed every time I call asking if they have a gluten free option available.

16/07/2026: The staff were not professional and did not make an effort to clean and prepare tables promptly, even when customers were waiting to dine in. In addition, only a single-use plastic fork was provided, which is not appropriate for a dine-in experience. Overall, the service and attention to customer needs were disappointing.

10/09/2026: Food is out of this world, I’ve been a repeat customer to very few restaurants but this one will always have a special place in my heart. Stephane, Charles, and Cedric especially have made every experience in this fantastic restaurant truly unforgettable. The service is the best I’ve ever had in any restaurant internationally. The food is unreal. I’ve had the pleasure of dining multiple times, and have had everything on the menu. While I would love to save this restaurant for special occasions, I find myself coming back again and again as the food and service is just the absolute best I’ve ever had. I couldn’t dare highlight any particular item off of the menu as they are all equally excellent, however I would put 100% trust in the sommelier Cedric for any accompanying wine choices for your food. I also have to mention Patrick himself for always coming to the table, introducing himself, and making sure my experience is up to his very high standards. It is a disgrace that Michelin has not yet awarded this place its very well deserved 3rd Michelin star. I can easily say that this is the best restaurant in Ireland, dare I say Europe. I am yet to have an experience that makes me return to a Michelin starred restaurant except for this place.

29/08/2026: I had super gastronomic experience in this place! We had menu «à la cart» and it was very delicious !the service is TOP ! For the dessert I highly recommend baba rum flambé ! Don’t miss this place when you are in Dublin ☘️ PS the wine list is impressive!
