12/12/2025: This could be a lovely local spot however unfortunately its atmosphere seems to be ruined by the staff. Our first visit, we were treated rudely by the manager throughout the night which we tried to dismiss. More recently, not only were we berated again, she was also vocally treating her workers awfully in front of the whole restraunt. Both were disturbing experiences - do not recommend

04/04/2026: The food was good. We had 6 meals between 2. Pork belly was really nice as was the duck. The Pumpkin Paella was nice but very expensive for the size of it 24e. Ham croquettes were lovely but tiny. The potatoes with ham was ok. The service downstairs was very poor. Food came out in a timely manner but servers were non existent which really let the experience down.
04/04/2026: I had an excellent experience at Cava Bodega. I was a solo diner and still felt like I was able to eat here easily, even with it being tapas. I had the pork belly, patatas bravas and the chorizo with spinach, tomato and chickpeas. They also had a dessert special that was to die for. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent! I would definitely go back if given the opportunity.

31/03/2026: My wife, daughter and I had a great meal here. Great food and service. The atmosphere is just right with the open fires and the many souvenirs hanging up. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

Update: dining in is just as good! The place is pleasant, service is great, and the food is excellent. It's usually busy, make sure you book ahead. The whole menu is good, not just the sushi and ramen!

02/02/2026: We spent three days in Newport and enjoyed fabulous meals each day at the Grainne Uaile. Such a warm but also very professional atmosphere. The food was outstanding and the welcome from the whole team was amazing. A little gem of a place.
