04/09/2026: Disgusting restaurant with disgusting staff. I witnessed a scene of disrespect with a rider who waited for an order to be ready for more than 15 minutes, then asked to go to the bathroom and the employee said that wasn't allowed, that it was only for customers. Simply rude restaurant, zero stars.

06/06/2026: We stayed here recently and it was unreal place to stay. Would highly recommend to anyone to stay even if it is not for the golf. The service and food in the restaurant and bar was sensational.

23/05/2026: Dinner and breakfast were lovely, excellent service from the Italian gentleman. Gym and saunas were available, pool and jacuzzi weren't but that's alright. Overall a great experience.

23/08/2026: I absolutely loved this place! Saw Mimi's on a YouTube video and wanted to find it when I visited Dublin. Turns out it was 2 doors down from where we were staying! Great coffee, great chocolate crescents! The staff was fabulous! Absolutely adored the decor! If I lived in Dublin I'd be a regular..

22/08/2026: Seems like a lovely spot but not very organised. We had booked a table for 12 today (confirmed via email yesterday) but when we got there we were told there was a problem with the kitchen and there was only coffee available. Obviously these things happen but with no effort made to let us know beforehand it really ruined our plans for the day.

25/09/2026: Had every possibility of being great. The appetizers were a hit (we were a party of 4), particularly the smoked haddock omelette and the peas&vinegar. All 4 main were incredibly over salted. The ‘champs’ side dish was incredibly over salted. Not one person could get through more than half their plate (beef cheek & kidney pudding, Sheppard pie, mixed grill, lamb cuts)…basically inedible. We regularly go to top end restaurants; we understand chefs use a lot of salt. We like salt….to a point. All you could taste here was salt. Service? Poured the last half of wine ourselves as nobody could be bothered. Couldn’t be fussed to ask why nobody ate the mains. This should be a must for Irish food; fun menu, nice room, perfect cooking techniques, top ingredients…..ruined by a chef who obviously doesn’t taste what they put on the plates. Perhaps an off night; but inexcusable for a top table.

19/09/2026: Very “fun” menu. The oyster and beef tartare is probably the most unique surf and turf dish I’ve ever seen.

23/08/2026: Spent a few days doing some volunteer work, today was our journey home. We decided to take things easy, reward ourselves and who could ignore the beautiful weather. A visit to Spike Island, meant that we had to plan lunch nearby. I remembered Bramley Lodge from when I lived in Cork almost 20 years ago, Google, menu looked good. So I rang and booked a table for 3. It had changed and expanded since I was last there. Outdoor seating areas, some covered, others just with parasols. Bigger carpark. Seated with ease, glasses and water on our table closely followed by amazing menus. We had cheated and looked online during our morning drive, the menu lived up to form. My 2 amigos had already chosen before I had completed the phone call to make the booking. The Food. Seafood Chowder, main course size: "If you can see many different seafood (and several are almost attempting to climb out of the bowl" That's a really good chowder. When the diner is using the crust of the homemade brown bread to clean the bowl. Well.... Pasta, of course I bring someone who lived in Italy for over a decade, and at 10am in the morning I'm being asked about the pasta. (I'm still hoping that we can get a table.) So I can with confidence say, from the guy who lived in Italy, "that is one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had, right up there with my favourite Rome and Italian meals . Me, I was just busy, finding somewhere to eat, making sure we made it the boat on time, trying to find free parking. Well you know you have done it. I had to read the menu. As a retired chef, I do read the small print. I was still undecided, because there were so many options that I wished to taste. But waiter taking the order, I opted for the Seafood Skewers, not just something I had never tried before, something I had not seen on a menu before. Well I offered my compatriots would you like to taste, before I even tried myself. They declined. They did not get a second chance. I realised as I was finishing my delicious food that all three of us, ate our meal, together, without the need for conversation. Excellent food, form my memory, it was great, today, I'll make it simple, We all 3 will be back.

21/08/2026: Excellent place just off the center of cork city, well worth the visit Exceptional staff and a lovely traditional bar. Definitely worth a visit

07/09/2026: Manager had absolutely terrible customer service skills and was quite prissy from the start. His reply below is competely inaccurate. We were not rude at all. It was a cold night and we politely asked several times if he would turn the heater on. Even the woman at the table under the heater had her husband's jacket on. Unfortunately the manager also takes no personal responsibility for properly training the staff on menu and service basics either.

11/09/2026: From my Italian perspective: Service was kind and good, atmosphere align with the Irish pubs. Food was disappointing. I ordered “the ambassador” a steak that is presented as their top cut (and the most expensive 48 euro). Medium rare cooked, plain no sauces. It arrived a nice steak cooked on a very dirty grill. The effect was a quite dirty surface of the meet which gave a strong bitter taste to it. I returned more than half of it, I was quite vocal with the 2 waiters. No chef or anybody from the kitchen came to acknowledge or apologise. They gave me a 10% discount …frankly no needed. I would have preferred something like. You are right, we got distracted, we now deeply cleaned the grill and please be our guest and try x. Ps: digestion was terrible as when you eat carbonated parts.

17/09/2026: As for a person who doesn't tolerance spices, Udon was hot. food overall was good. Thai mango chicken was especially good as well as noodles.

06/09/2026: Parking was available right outside on Sunday. The food was delicious.

12/06/2026: When we first entered the room, we were welcomed by a fish smell because the window was broken and the fumes from the kitchen were directly entering. We tried watching tv and couldn't because nearly all the channels were locked with a pin code that not even the manager knew. The water in the sink wouldn't drain. We tried to shower before bed but the hot water was shut off without prior notice. During the night, we were unable to sleep because all you could hear were the sounds of the pipes in the building that sounded exactly like a ship's horn going off every 10 minutes. We were left there wide awake to stare at the huge water damage stains in the ceiling. My partner suffers from epilepsy and sleep is more important for him than for the average person. At the price of 207€ for a night we at the very least expected to get a decent night's rest and that was not the case. We spoke to the manager and he told us he couldn't issue us a full refund. Only 20€. He said it wasn't within his power and that we'd have to go through Booking.com for a refund. Surprise surprise, it turns out he simply does not want to refund more than half. Very deceitful. This is place is more of a hostel.

10/06/2026: Recently had a two night stay here celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, top marks all round, lovely hotel, exceptional staff from Louise on reception to Olya in the restaurant and Paul the owner, all so friendly and helpful, great location, will definitely return and would highly recommend. 26/09/2026: A traditional pub whose size surprised us. It has several rooms and even a fireplace. The lamb stew was delicious, the beer was cold and served quickly. Smaller menu available until 4 pm.

24/09/2026: This stands out from the rest of the dozens of other pubs and overly posh menu gastros because the quality of The Celt's kitchen is superb. Try the lamb stew or the cottage pie and get the Guinness brown bread to go with it. Go early enough and you can have a quiet meal before things get busier with music or matches.
