21/11/2025: I recently enjoyed a delightful breakfast experience at The Olive Cafe located in Waterford City, I ordered their Eggs Benedict, and it was truly wonderful. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked,Not only was the food outstanding, but the overall experience was also exceptional. The service was prompt and friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cafe's cozy ambiance added to the enjoyment of the meal.

Kin Khao

Athlone
06/05/2026: Average food. Portion size was adequate. Staffs were lovely.
02/05/2026: No parking available close by, the chicken is halal. The staff was very helpful, but it is so loud inside it’s impossible to talk to your date. I felt a bit too small amounts of food for that price.

Mannions Seafood Bar & Restaurant

Clifden
31/10/2025: Had dinner here recently, I would be a semi regular at this spot. Not sure if it’s been leased out since the last time I was there, as I didn’t see any of the old familiar faces working on the night I was there. What has changed is the introduction of a 10% service charge, which is extremely disappointing to see, none of my other usual spots in Clifden or its surrounding areas have this, so not sure why it’s been introduced here. I wasn’t aware of this until I was paying the bill, it might be on the menu, I’m not sure, but it definitely didn’t apply last time I visited. Probably going to give it a miss for a while, might pop back when the VAT rate gets reduced, see if the service charge still applies. If it does, I’ll be trying somewhere else up the street!
10/10/2025: Lovely calamari, fish and chips. Friendly service. A bit pricey but it was good.

Bastion

Kinsale
25/04/2026: Fantastic tasting menu. Every course was well-thought out, balanced, and absolutely delectable, not to mention, beautifully plated. The wines were perfectly paired to each course. The service was well paced and attentive. Helen and Paul were an absolute delight. This was the highlight of our time in Kinsale.
11/04/2026: Bastion was our first Michelin star dining experience and it was well worth it. We did the Discovery tasting menu and everything dish was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable and the intimate setting gave the dining experience a personal touch.

Thai Spice

Dublin
06/05/2026: I got panang curry which didn't appear to be made with very much if any coconut milk or cream plus had a very odd disagreeable flavor. The white rice was good though! Peanut sauce was also disappointingly bland. I found myself looking around for a salt shaker. The waitress was friendly. Restaurant cute but would have been nice to hear some legit Thai music instead of the maudlin electronic background slop they were playing.
24/04/2026: The fried calamari as a starter was truly incredible! Be aware of the 10 percent service charge.

Fika Coffee

Limerick
26/09/2025: Really....REALLY Great Coffee!!
14/09/2025: Nice little cozy place, the coffee was delicious.. the barista offered me which type of arabica I wanted, I really liked that. Many cafes don't give you that option. They don't ask what type you want. I recommend this place. Very clean, nice staff.

Jalan Jalan

Sligo
13/04/2026: Baozi of the day cost 10.5 for 3 little tiny Baozi that you can get in any local market. I must get ripped off😅 Lanzhou ramen was also what I ordered. No clue what that is even can’t live up my lowest expectation whatsoever. Alright, it’s maybe I’m an Asian and the food there is made for locals. Not recommended.
09/04/2026: The food is delicious and looks exactly like it. 😃 The servers are very nice and helpful. The place is small. You have to arrive in good time to get a seat. They are quite full during dinner time. The service was fast regardless. 🙂

National Museum Cafe

Dublin
09/04/2026: The National Museum of Ireland on Kildare Street is a must-see for anyone interested in history. The prehistoric gold collection is breathtaking, and seeing the bog bodies up close is an incredible, albeit slightly eerie, experience. The building itself is a Victorian masterpiece, and since admission is free, it’s an easy addition to any Dublin itinerary. It's well-organized and perfect for a quiet hour or two of exploring Ireland's ancient past.
08/04/2026: It's one of the few free museums in Dublin, with many pieces from the protohistoric period. A more didactic explanation of the collections would be welcome. There are some particularly interesting pieces, such as two Iron Age "mummies"—corpses preserved thanks to their location in oxygen-deprived marshy areas. There are also many Celtic artifacts, a significant collection of goldwork, and Viking artifacts.
