The best restaurants

28/07/2026: I mentioned that the price of the rice wasn't explained beforehand and that the dishes were extremely unpalatable. The restaurant showed no remorse or apology whatsoever; instead, they desperately tried to justify themselves. So please, everyone, don't go there unless you want to be abused and subjected to inhumane treatment.

17/05/2026: The food was really good. Unfortunately, the whole restaurant smelled of smoke whenever someone ordered the charcoal grill. In the end, our clothes smelled of smoke too, even though the table where the food was being grilled was at the other end of the restaurant.

20/05/2026: Was in this evening and I’ve had an unpleasant experience man at the till with food in his mouth while talking to me taking my order. Normally order off a young man Mati I think his name is not sure very polite young man must’ve just caught him on his day off

09/05/2026: Best pizza in Gorey. Always hot and delicious. Also lovely staff. We get the 7 pizza deal for large parties and it's also the best price in town

10/07/2026: Food was amazing great Chinese everything cooked to perfection in the beef 4 in one more meat could be added it's great value the chef knows he's cooking it's top notch I'd highly recommended this place

19/09/2026: If you want a spice bag, go to your printer, take out an a4 page, eat it. That's cheaper than ordering from here. Haven't seen anything as white flavourless and a complete scam as much as what Mayflower offer.

19/09/2026: Literally just ordered this tonight, horrible stringy chicken, completely unseasoned and the noodles tasted like absolutely nothing. How can this be one of the highest rated Chinese in Kilkenny. Absolutely horrible.

04/07/2026: Great place, massive selection of delicatessen, wine and food. Lovely friendly service, felt really looked after, pet friendly too, thank you guys!

04/06/2026: Worst coffee it, flat white I’d say she forgot the coffee and had the milk boiling

24/08/2026: Had a really delicious dinner alone! Surf and Turf steak with Vegetable's and Feta salad. Here's a before and after pic 😜

05/07/2026: Ordered Delivery, 2 pizza's and chips, dough was excellent, chips are proper chips, quick enough delivery too.

30/08/2026: Ordered takeaway, food was hardly edible, portions were small and quality was poor, prices were higher than advertised on their online menu. Every little thing was charged. Total price was ridiciolusy high. I would not recommend this place to anyone, very disappointing.

12/07/2026: They are trying to be dog friendly. Just call a few hours ahead, talk to the owner and she may make arrangements for you to sit Ina cordoned off area.

09/07/2026: No sanitizer, soap or paper towels anywhere to clean hands. Not the cleanest to be honest.

19/06/2026: Edit 2026: I can't understand what is the story with this place. Got teased into the world cup meal. Placed an order with Deliveroo. Once again, half of the order missing. Are you guys out of your mind there? I've ordered from this place maybe 10 times over the years and every single time something was missing. Absolute joke. Edit 2024: I didn't order from them for 2 years. Decided to give it a go. They sent someone else's order. Literally every single item was incorrect. I will never learn. Avoid!! I keep making the same mistake. Every few months or so I decide to give them another chance and they mess up again. Every single time they forget an item. This time it was drivetru, ordered 2 burgers. Got only one. Realised at home. They really don't care. Never again.

19/07/2026: Friendly staff delicious ice cream and lemonade

24/06/2026: Ice cream is delicious but the staff are rude and unfriendly. The seating area also was closed at 6.50pm but shop open till 8pm. Seating area is very small so they definitely don’t need to close it over 1hr before shops close. Disappointing. Will be going to the Gem again from now on.

01/07/2026: Ordered food here about 1 o clock and the place was quiet busy as it was lunchtime and there was only 1 girl on she did a great job serving everyone but it is absolutely disgusting to see a big company like Supermacs have only 1 staff member to take orders serve food and cook the food as well as deal with any issues that may arise Food was fine but could be a lot better if there was more staff on and the girl deserves a raise to have had to deal with shifts like that Supermacs needs to do better than this you can afford to hire another staff member

03/09/2026: The women who answered the phone was rude, when I called to order food. She answered the phone and just said to me wait didnt even say hello. Left me waiting ages and didn't come back to the phone. So I went to Indian takeaway up to road, lovely curry in the Indian takeaway .

09/07/2026: My experience was unfortunately not positive. I placed an order through Too Good To Go and arrived at the store about 12 minutes before 7:30 PM. The pickup time had already been announced on the app, but the attendant didn't even look at me and, quite rudely, simply said that pickup would be at 7:30 PM. What bothered me most wasn't waiting a few minutes, but the way I was treated. Too Good To Go is an official partner of the store, and customers shouldn't be treated with disregard for using this service. If the staff disagrees with how the partnership works, that's a matter between the company and the app, not with those who are following the stated rules. Furthermore, I didn't think the contents of the bag offered good value for money. Based on my experience, I wouldn't buy from Too Good To Go again at this location. I hope the store invests in a more cordial and welcoming service for all customers, regardless of how they make their purchase.
