The best restaurants

17/06/2026: Ok so I have gone here three times since I was staying at the Strand hotel and it is downstairs. The first day I went, it was decent service, had a few servers working together to help me out and ask if I need anything. They took a long time for everything I ordered to bring it out, they brought me the check but never came back for my card so I went to the bar to pay my tab, maybe that’s how it works here? Perhaps. Day 2 I rarely see my server, took forever for my chicken Caesar salad to come out, waited another long time for the check that never came, so I had to go search for my server to pay at the bar again. I’m like thinking why is everything taking SO LONG?! I don’t really understand it. Later on, I’m like you know, it’s still early, let me go down and grab a drink from the bar. I sit down and nobody ever acknowledges me. I’m there for a SOLID 15 minutes with nobody asking what I’d like to drink, as if I was a ghost. So I left, annoyed. They have good cappuccino and salads and wraps but the service is where it really needs improvement, superrrr disappointed, could be a nice spot too!

28/03/2026: There is zero quantitie to quality ratio , €36 for a meal deal for two with sides ! . The pizza was erm basically like a cracker texture with minimal cheese or sauce with Zero taste , as for the sides erm best way to describe it would be lidil frozen food quality (cheap but not cheerful) I should of questioned the place , not one soul in it on a Saturday night very strange , I won't be returning customer. Domino's should be embarrassed with the lack of quality. Save your money and avoid .

10/03/2026: Went in at 8 o'clock states it don't shut till 11 wanted a breast of chicken was told they had none cooked or to cook so 3 hours before they close no breastfeeding of chicken

25/06/2026: Nice staff, best taco fries in cork. BnB and ranch salad are amazing... Also smokey Joe is fantastic. Service is really fast

20/06/2026: Apparently the breast in a bun is a Cork specialty and inspiration for the original KFC. Hillbilly's beats the Colonel hands down. Delicious!

25/01/2026: Good food but quality not what it used to be and prices have increased dramatically over the last couple of years , been going here for many years and it was our favourite Chinese Restaurant.. but seriously needs a revamp as it's looking tired now , carpets worn and toilets aren't great , nothing done to it in over 20 odd years and it shows unfortunately.

19/06/2026: Don’t ever order off this Chinese, I have ordered a number times and I don’t eat vegetables so my order would be a chicken curry with no veg and boiled rice. I got a number of times with veg and rang them and told them and they would aurgue with you on the phone about it but they will say you get a free order next time in the end. I was then told they don’t take card over the phone anymore so it has to be done on there app, fair enough the app leaves you a cheff order and it came correct the first time second time full of veg and I will not eat it no matter what if there is veg! I rang them and they will not take back or send another one due to their fault! I will never again order . I pay 7euro delivery to carrigtowhill which is 5mins away and they will not refund me . And as far I know working with public the customer is right but there always against this! Delivery driver told me that they done this several times tonight and that was just one night. I will never again order off this crowd and I always gave in and order again but never again!!! 25euro it’s costing me for chicken curry no veg and boiled rice When I told him go back on my order from the 14th of June today is 19th of June and the order on the 14th of June was perfect and I cannot see on my receipt a chef order he tried to say but we are talking about today but if it doesn’t say it on the 14th why should it say on the 19th. Completely shocking the way they carry on& the order thrown in the bin!

12/05/2026: Keep sending home made garlic dips instead of the official garlic dip and the home made dip is disgusting

01/03/2026: The massamam chicken curry had no shallots and was very watery. Would have been better out of a cheap lidl jar and left short an order which was integral part of the other food ordered. Very disappointed and frustrating. Regular customer. Not sure if I can trust woks for food again.

18/06/2026: We were guided by the positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. When we arrived, I asked at the bar if they had lemonade. The bartender said yes and immediately opened a Sprite. I didn’t have time to react, so I ended up keeping it. Then, we ordered something light, some cheese fries, and they took about 20 minutes to arrive. When we finally got them, the fries were cold (I think they may have forgotten to call us when they were ready). The supposedly melted cheese had already hardened on top, which was not pleasant at all. Overall, it wasn’t a good experience. I’m not sure if we’ll come back, as I was looking forward to trying the bar because of all the great reviews.

25/09/2025: Had the worst experience of any pub I've ever been in. The barman suffers from small angry man syndrome, he was extremely rude to myself and my friend, what makes it worse was that the owner was serving customers next to us. The barman has obviously forgot the meaning of a public house and would need to change his attitude or job, he clearly is not enjoying it.

20/09/2025: Unfriendly .. without any reason stopped giving out drinks. After asking for the manager, conversation was stopped..

14/05/2026: Generous portions, everything super hot and freshly cooked when we came to pick up. Ordered right before closing time too but they still made it work! Defo going back!

22/05/2026: Here lad got this this evening. My mate got a Mowldy burger and my chicken looks like its still in the hen house. 👎👎 poor form.

28/04/2026: Food 5*, lads in behind the counter 5*, price 5*. Couldn't even finish the food, stuffed, sound boys the chay went down nicely 👍
